we are a cereal family but Im thinking maybe my kids would do better in the winter with a hot breakfast.

What do you feed your kids?

Cereal usually. Sometimes waffles/pancakes.

Hmmmm-it depends on his mood, my mood ;) , and what's in the house.

He gets cereal, fruit, pop tarts, cold pizza, peanut butter toast, leftover pasta, (not all at once of course!) basically anything that will fill him up. Growing up, my parents were never hung up on us getting only breakfast food for breakfast, and both my brother's kids, and my son will eat any type of food, any time of the day.

Hey won't even look at hot cereal though (oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc)

They usually have a bowl of cereal and sometimes (especially when school starts) they'll rush downstairs and grab a nutri grain bar and some juice . . .

DS is the only one who enjoys having oatmeal for b-fast in the fall/winter. DD won't eat hot cereal. The only hot b-fast (meaning eggs or pancakes) we do on Saturdays and Sundays.

My youngest eats a good breakfast at school. They always have a variety of things to choose from. But, my teen wants chocolate cake at 6AM. At least she will drink a glass of milk with it so it is better than nothing. My Father and my husband both claim they were fed cake for breakfast growing up too.

DD usually has cereal, waffles, or french toast. Occasionally a pop tart.

Ds is not in school yet, but he usually eats pancakes...I buy 2 boxes for a week or two. Or waffles. Sometimes Cinnamon Life. Those are his favs. For a while, all he'd eat is cereal bars and milk, but now we are on the pancake kick. I've been meaning to make some healthy, from scratch pancakes for a bit more of a healthy option, but I'm just so dang lazy lately.

Breakfast??!! What's that? :p Now that school has started the boys will rarely eat breakfast. Lunch is served early at school and they will eat a small snack when they get home around 4. Sunday mornings is the only time we have a big breakfast around here now.

Usually frozen French Toast or frozen waffle sticks. Or cereal. Occasionally toast and fruit, or bagel and cream cheese. We save Pop-Tarts for a Saturday breakfast treat.

I give my girls cereal most days, but every now and again the Nutri-grain waffles will be on sale. I'll toast a couple and put them in their ziplocs. And I send a cup with juice, and their school will provide milk if they want it.

DD will usually have somthing like oatmeal or waffles. Cereal is a treat in our house. I don't like to give her too much of it. :)

I'm suppose to feed them breakfast? :upsidedow I never saw that in the instruction booklet. :tilt:

Whatever they want as long as it does not involve the stove or oven. I cook dinner and supper, I refuse to deal with breakfast. I am NOT a morning person.

My daughter (2) likes those mini frozen pancakes so she usually has those. Sometimes she eats cereal or mini-muffins and a banana.

Depends on what she feels like.

This morning she had celery sticks stuffed with peanut butter and raisins ("ants on a log") and a piece of wheat toast with strawberry jam.

Yesterday it was shredded wheat with blueberries and bananas.

The only thing she doesn't care for is oatmeal. Otherwise, everything else is fair game. One of her favorite breakfasts is a fried egg with boca sausage on wheat english muffins with a slice of swiss cheese and sliced apples. She also loves breakfast quesidillas (scrambled eggs in a flour torilla with melted cheese and chopped up peppers and onions) or left over pizza.

I make extra waffles and pancakes on the weekends when we have them and freeze them for later in the week...that way we always have them around and they are really quick.

Hot or cold cereal, waffles, sometimes french toast. We also do eggs and turkey bacon, but that's only on the weekend.

Dh makes pancakes every morning just about or french toast. When I'm in charge they get their own -- cereal, toaster strudels, frozen waffles or pop-tarts.

cereal.

My kids are like me, creatures of habit. I've tried different things in the morning, we always go back to cereal.

It varies with DD. Some mornings she's really hungry and will eat 2 waffles, a bowl of oatmeal or whole grain toast. Other mornings she only wants a tube of yogurt or some fruit. I always insist she has something even if it is just a handfull of grapes.

Sometimes she wants nontraditional breakfood like pasta, perogies, soup etc. I figure as long as it's nutrious what does it matter.

She does have a morning snack and I always throw a few extra things in her lunch box in case she gets hungry at other times. Luckily her teachers are good about letting the kids get a snack when they're hungry.
