Do you go elsewhere for dinner? Plan your dinner at your resort? Cook/eat in your kitchen?

If we get in early .We eat in a park. If we get there late we eat at the resort or one near by.

We have been members since 95 and have never eaten dinner or lunch for that matter at the villas, we never used the stove, my brother once used the stove to cook himself some eggs for breakfast but we never have eaten in the villas. Part of being on vacation even at the DVC one and two bedrooms is eating out every meal with the exception of breakfast. There are so many nice places to eat at WDW. We are not alone, trust me there are just as many people that never or rarely use the kitchen as do in the DVC membership at OKW at least.

It also depends on what time we arrive also where we eat our first dinner. If we do not arrive until evening we usually dine right at our resort so then we can settle in to our villa. If we arrived early afternoon quite often we will visit Epcot that first night and eat in a World Showcase restaurant.

Because we fly in on an early flight - but don't arrive at Disney until sometime around noon or later, we are famished when we arrive. But also exhausted - we got up at 4:30 to catch the plane! By the time we get our room keys and passes and our luggage checked in, its often 1:30 or 2:00.

Last time we strolled over to Epcot and had a late lunch/early dinner at the Biergarten. It was (relatively) fast and ample. We did need to wait a little for a table - and its hard to make a PS for "when we get in", so next time we might do something a little different - maybe go to the WS and have some snacks to keep us from starving - and have PSs for an early dinner.

We always eat dinner out. The only thing we eat in the room is breakfast and that is normally cereal, doughnuts or maybe use the toaster for a bagel or toast. I will use the microwave for popcorn or mac n cheese for the kids.

We almost always eat Dinner out - typically on night one it would be a counter service somewhere in Epcot Showcase

The only time we have dinner in the villa, is if we have had a full day of parks and/or activities and we just want to have some comfort food and have a rest

We almost always have a full breakfast in the villa and about 2/3 of the time have lunch there as well

Our touring goes like: EMH park, retreat for lunch/swim/rest then head back out late afternoon

thanks

what do you do your 1st day dinner staying in the villas?
At one of the wonderful WDW restaurants, of course!!!
We never use the kitchen in a DVC villa for anything more than the frig to keep drinks and snacks cold and occasionally we will use the toaster for a bagel or english muffin in the AM. We never cook on vacation no matter how nice the villa kitchens are. If I wanted to cook, I would stay home. Eating at all the wonderful WDW restuarants is something we love to do while on vacation.

It really depends on circumstances. In a few days, we will leave for BWV on the DD twins' 10th B'Day and will celebrate it (and the younger DD 7th B-Day coming up in April) by dining at Chef Mickey's.

We either go to Chef Mickey's or the Hoop De Doo Revue our first night. Gets us right in the Disney Mood (as if we needed any help :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I am surprised to hear so few people use the kitchen. We haven't officially stayed as members - just bought July 2003 - however we have stayed several times at OKW, Ft Wilderness cabins and other similar locations. We always eat breakfast in the rooms. Usually bagles, coffee, toast and sometimes pancakes and eggs. Simple to make and I don't mind cooking at all. Dinner is usually out however if we get in late we will do a simple pasta, garlic bread dinner and then head to bed to get ready for the next day. I have no problem making one or two dinners during our stay to save a few dollars. This way we can do more during out stay. It looks like I am in the minority with this but I do use the kitchen.

If you're staying at one of the Epcot resorts, I vote for one of the countries in Epcot for a first meal.

Just back from our first trip home at BCV. We drove and arrived around noon, checked in, let the kids swim at SAB and had dinner at Rose and Crown Pub in Epcot. It was so wonderful to be able to stroll into Epcot, enjoy a great meal (and a couple of Guiness beers!), and watch Illuminations. What a great start to our vacation!

Chef Mickey if its a year we dont have AP. That way you dont use a full day pass on the first night but you get the monorail and a huge dose of Disney Magic instantly. If AP we stay at BCV or BWV only because you can walk into EPCOT the day of arrival and departure without wasting any time on a bus or boat.

We always eat out. I have yet to cook a meal (that isn't a quickie breakfast) in my villa. That's just not what vacation's about to me!

For the first meal, I really like to stay at our resort. So lately its been either Spoodles or Cape May Cafe.

We usually cook...actually. DH cooks! LOL!

We were just there Presidents' week, Lunch time we ate at Olivia's; we were going to eat at DD but it was raining. Our room was not ready yet so we went to DD after lunch and got soaked coming back on the boat! (OKW)

By the way, there was a thread, sometime ago, about the new pots and pans at OKW. You are all absolutely right! They are wonderful!.

Finally our room was ready a little after 4pm, so it was really much more comfortable to eat in the room...DH cooked!

We moved to BWV for 4 nights and ate in the Parks or on the BW.
