what do you do your 1st day dinner staying in the villas?

I may have eaten in once or twice the first night but I sure can't remember it. When traveling with a certain group we seem to go to the Rainforest Cafe as our traditional Ready, Set, Go its WDW time! meal for the first night. Otherwise...I'll look for something new that doesn't require much effort or lots of money on my part.

I do cook ...even in a studio. If I can eliminate one of the expensive meals (lunch or dinner) I feel happier, I don't gain weight and uh...umm...well lets say my digestive system keeps chugging along.

Great thread!

Usually, Chef Mickey's is our tradition. It gets us totally in the right frame of mind! :)

However, now that I'll have a kitchen, I'm not sure. I don't see me cooking too many dinners there at all, but it's a must for breakfasts and snacks. I'll be looking for advice on shopping lists, etc. I don't want to buy too much and have it go to waste.

We seem to be in the minority, but we eat at the villa alot, that's the benefit of the kitchen. The first night we're usually tired from travelling and with 2 small children its easier to stay in. We pick up a cooked roaster chicken or spaghetti and bagged salad at the market with our other groceries. We always eat breakfast in and maybe dinner 1 or 2 nights.

I am surprised to hear so few people use the kitchen. We haven't officially stayed as members - just bought July 2003 - however we have stayed several times at OKW, Ft Wilderness cabins and other similar locations. We always eat breakfast in the rooms. Usually bagles, coffee, toast and sometimes pancakes and eggs. Simple to make and I don't mind cooking at all. Dinner is usually out however if we get in late we will do a simple pasta, garlic bread dinner and then head to bed to get ready for the next day. I have no problem making one or two dinners during our stay to save a few dollars. This way we can do more during out stay. It looks like I am in the minority with this but I do use the kitchen.

We also use the kitchen. We are typically on vacation 2-3 weeks or more (not all of it at WDW) and eating out wears thin. Breakfast is always in the room (fruit, yogurt, cereals, bagels, etc.) Lunch is usually in the parks. Dinner is often out, but we eat 3 or 4 meals in. Not so much to save money as to eat a bit healthier and just to relax. Usually it's veggies, salads, fruit, pasta, broiled chicken breasts, fish, or turkey burgers.
