What do you do for a living?

I've worked in an office setting my entire adult life. I've been mostly in administrative asst. type positions.

I love doing this kind of work. Many people would not enjoy it, but it's my thing and I like it.

The only thing I didn't necessarily appreciate about it is that working for a large corporation for over 30 years, I think that many upper-level co-workers view it as a non-desirable position, and some even look down their nose at employes in this type of position. But I still like it, and I think it's a job that I'm very well suited for.

Vet Tech at a feline only hospital for 16 years. Retired from a state job to work more hours at the hospital. I'll be there till I can't move anymore! Love making a difference even when it's a sad outcome.

I am an Ebook Technician and a Department Web page and intraface developer for a University Library. My main research area is Enhanced Ebooks and interactive technology (Web 2.0)

Maybe you can hop over to the ebook pricing thread and explain why ebooks cost more then physical books :lmao:

Yeh, I saw that.... thought it would be best just to let people guess...:thumbsup2

Sometimes the complexities and the answers are not what people want to hear...

Ah well, the prices will come down...

I am Express Specialist at the home office of two very well known moving companies. I ship/receive packages for the company, do the UPS billing for all of the agency offices across the U.S. and home office depts, deliver mail around the building, post mail. I have a fancy name for a mail clerk that also ships packages and does some billing work. :rolleyes1

I am two classes away from getting my A.A in Liberal Arts. Then I'll be going on to get my B.S. in Business Admin with a possible minor in Information Systems Web Emphasis. I've not fully decided on the minor yet, but it is something I'm thinking.

My heart is into animals and I'd love to be a Vet Tech, but unforunately the school times just doesn't fit into my current work schedule. :sad1:

I have two jobs. I'm a merchandiser, meaning I stock books and magazines at 4 different stores, plus I own a small hair salon that is situated inside a retirement home...I also have lots of "outside" clients, besides the residents who choose to homour me with their business...

The two together equal a full-time position, hours-wise.

I have my own little cake decorating business and work from home. I LOVE it! I used to work as a project manager/management consultant at a large financial services company and was offered a package to leave a few years ago. I snatched it up, got my kitchen licensed and I've not looked back once! I'm obsessed with cake!

I think we need to be friends, you have my dream life! I hope to someday move to Scotland and have a little cake decorating business. Sometimes I drift into dreamland and google places to live there, the cost of living, how to get a job for my husband there etc...

For now I'll keep working for the law firm and making cakes for family and friends for fun (the cake part is fun, not the law firm!).

Nurse Anesthetist.

Everyone is always *really* happy to see me since I am the magic sleepy/morphine fairy. :-)

I love to learn what people do for a living. There are so many interesting jobs out there. I was recently promoted at work. I work in county government as a Community Services Division Manager. I oversee a division of about 90 employees in the areas of child support, public assistance and housing.

Wow we are a diverse group aren't we?
I worked for years at the government's security service (ie. spy organization) now I'm a SAHM or as I prefer to call myself 'domestic goddess'!!

In my past careers I was a co-host on a morning drive-time radio show, and then I sold new cars. For the past 19 years I've been an elementary special education teacher :teacher: I love my job!!!

Officially - I'm a Sr. Risk Technology Business Partner

In English - I manage a computer system for a large retailer.

I own a Boat & RV dealership in Idaho, another on the Oregon coast and a Boat only store in Florida.

Commercial analyst for a Fortune 500 company.

I consider myself very lucky as I love my job :lovestruc

Customer service insurance agent, in other words I don't have to sell insurance, just service it. I do quotes and sell policies that are call-ins, but no cold calling or pounding doors.
