What do I need to rent a car?

I cant seem to find where I read it, but can someone tell me what I need to take in order to rent a car. We rented one in Aug, but all I needed was my credit card. Do I need to take proof of insurance now? What else do I need? I thought there was some sort of new policy.

ANy info would be great.

I would take proof of insurance just in case. I don't know if they require it (I didn't think they did), but I remember being asked for it when I rented a car in Orlando a couple years ago. I've never been asked in Las Vegas though.

Just used Dollar a couple of weeks ago. Only needed my CC and DL.

The only company that requires proof of insurance is L&M.
A drivers license and cc is usually enough.
Bring along any coupons you have used and a print out of your reservation.
