What do I need to know about Memory Maker?

Try to view them while on your trip. I try to every night but it's hard to do sometimes. Digitally scanned photos and automatically acquired photos/videos sometimes don't show up. The photopass folks are good about finding them but the longer you wait I would think it may be more difficult, mostly just trying to remember the photos you took.

Good idea. Thank you!

Although they advertise 30 days, the pictures stay in the queue for 45 days. If you view the photos on the website/app, a date taken is given and a date expired is given for each photos. so 45 days from date taken.

I have not tested this yet but have been told memory maker is good for 30 days after the first download. So photos stay in queue for 45 days - you download on 45th day - then memory maker should be good for another 30 days. Maybe?? I wouldn't push it but supposedly this is it. So you could stretch MM out for 75 days - theoretically!!?? You can also purchase an extension on the 45 days to stretch even further.

Where do they advertise 30 days? It says right here that they stay in your account for 45 days after they're taken:

It also says that once you download your first picture that you then have 30 days to add pictures to your account. I wouldn't wait until the 45 day mark to download pictures, but I would assume you would be safe waiting until 44 days from the first date you have pictures taken, thereby stretching out the time frame you can use a single Memory Maker purchase to 74 days.

Over the past year I've used MM a few times. On several calls inquiring about MM I've been told photos expire in 30 days. I wasn't quoting policy just putting that info out there in case someone comes across a misinformed CM.

I like to take a photo of the ride photos with my camera. That way if the photo doesn't make it onto MM (which I've had happen several times) I can send them the picture with the photo # on it as well as the exact time of the photo (from my camera's timestamp). In theory I shouldn't have to do this, but I've had lost photos on every trip.

Look for photographers with nothing else to do. In Disneyland one of the photographers was looking a little lonely and she was so excited when we came over. She took us on a field trip all over the princess faire and we have wonderful photos. Some with the castle, but others are just great family photos. She clearly liked taking photos and was excited when a family wanted to give her the time to be creative.

In meet and greets, I've sometimes been lucky and gotten a great candid photographer so the photopass person took a bunch of great still photos while I was able to get videos of the interactions. So, don't assume that with photopass you don't need your own camera.

Unfortunately, phone CMs aren't known for giving out accurate information.

Yes I know what you mean. Usually I can tell whether the CM is going to be helpful or not within a short period on the phone. I made about 5 calls about MM and 2 of the 5 CMs where spouting the 30 day nonsense. I think they were confused with parts of the old PP+ system. When they are not helpful I'll just call back to get another. Most times between a couple few CMs, I can get some viable info. Under the old PP+ I had 5 trips planned with in a 6 month period. Wanted to cover all trips with one PP+ purchase. Phone CM helped me do it successfully. Got over 2000 photos. At times I've gotten a lot of good info from phone CMs.

If you purchase MM, can you add borders and embelishments to the photos as you would if you purchase the individual photos in the park?

Yes. Memory Maker simply gives you all photos vs paying for each one.

Thanks!! I know when we purchase from certain parks like Magic Kingdom they have cool park specific borders to put on the photos. I wanted to make sure you could add the borders still with the memory maker

I just purchased Memory Maker and the delivery option is will call, but we do have Magic Bands and it's linked on MDE, so do I actually need to go to will call or will it just work once I get to the parks next week?

We didn't purchase MM, but just returned from a trip and purchased 2 of them. I don't see how to download the videos (specifically 7DMT).

Will all the photos and videos disappear from my account, or will I still be able to see the ones I purchased?

We were so glad to have memory maker when we went October 2014. My oldest (11 at the time) dressed up as Walt for one of our Magic Kingdom days. A photographer spotted him and was so excited. He did a photo shoot of him all around the castle. We got tons of pics! It was awesome!

We used memory last May, there were a total of 6 of us travelling together. It was convenient because there are lots of nice spots where the photographers hang out and get great shots. Plus some rides are automatically added, which is unique. In addition, there were a few videos added from the new Dwarves Mine roller coaster.
