well actually I put it on my Disney Visa I just received yesterday. Money is in the bank ready to pay it off.
So what do I get in the mail now?

Wow Barb, congradulations on the payoff !!!!! I don't know what you get now.. but wanted to say Yea for you !! Michelle

I just paid off in February and haven't gotten anything yet. I would expect something would come in the mail sometime within the next month. If I don't hear from them by the end of the month, I will probably call.

Well, I know they cashed my check to pay off our loan, but I wasn't really expecting anything else.

What were you expecting?

You will receive a deed, but have patiece, it takes quite a while.

Don't open those letters that say that the price of points will be going up soon. They have been my downfall. I now have an even 500 points. (even at that, I have already borrowed all of next year's points!)

Somebody start a poll to guess how long it will take for
"imgoingtodisney" to look into an add on.

I did the same thing on Monday! When the accounting CM asked me what CC I wanted to use I said my Disney Visa of course! It feels great. Just waiting for my deed.

As reported, you will get the deed & a great desire to add on!!! I forget how long our deeds took, it must've taken a couple of months....

Oh, I am sure we will all be privy to the agonizing decision making process.

I am sure it did feel good and will continue to feel great, till you get the first Visa bill, and the realization that you can no longer deduct that interest from your income taxes.

You get a deed, but it takes a while. You get a thing asking whether you want to pay your dues monthly or all at once. You get a burning desire to purchase more points.;)

OK, call me confused, but to those that are putting what you owe for DVC on the Disney visa, are you just trying to reap the benefits the visa is offering and plan on paying it off in full? I can't imagine that it would be beneficial otherwise to put that amount of money on a credit card. (What's Disney's interest on that card, BTW?)

And, Gail, I WILL miss using that interest for our taxes, but that's ok, I'd rather have the extra cash each month that I will have! And, I hope I don't get that bug that's going around making people buy more points! Eeeek! The thought of paying more monthly dues makes me crazy!

Hi,
I was speaking about those that transferred their DVC balance to the Disney Credit card to pay off the DVC balance. They will still have to pay for it, and will not be able to write off the interest, because, as we all know, interest from a credit card is NOT deductable. Unless you pay a higher than minimum payment, you will stretch out your payments, pay more interest and perhaps gain a few perqs/rewards here and there. Personally, I am not sure it is worth it.

Pollyann, Dee's and my original contract is paid off on the 15th of this month, BUT, our add on starts this month. LOL, see we did not even wait to see it paid off first. Our new dues got deducted from the checking account this am.

In my original post I did say the money is in the bank ready to pay it off.

Imgoingtodisney,

Good plan!!
We paid our purchase at BCV last year on a credit card amd paid it off within 30 days. Result: no interest and received enough additional Hilton points for a free night at the HIlton Gardens Hotel by the Orlando Airport.

We just refinanced at a really great rate. So instead using the extra cash and just paying the DVC off I decided to charge it and pay off the Visa as soon as it comes.

I bought my contract and add-on using Amex and paid them off the month the bill came. In fact, I funnel everything I can thru Amex or Marriott to earn the points. I never carry a balance. Well, one month I did so I guess I shouldn't say never.
