What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

Okay, here's a tip I just thought of (although it may have been posted earlier):
Have children wear Crocs w/socks to the airport. Shoes come off/on easily for security, feet stay warm (sort of) on plane w/socks, and you can use the shoes later for the pool or just for daily wear if that's what your child wants to wear.
Keep the tips coming- I've gotten many good ideas so far!:thumbsup2

My husband and I went to WDW in January 2007 and found that I filled my camera to the point that the camera would turn itself off before my laptop could download all the pictures. We popped into the Kodak Kiosk in MK and talked to a CM about DLing our pictures onto a CD. The Kiosk machine was crazy expensive, (12.00 per CD and only 100 pictures per CD), the CM mentioned she had another machine behind the desk she could try cause you could get more on the CD for the same price. We had over 300 pictures and was able to get all the pictures on 1 CD with her help and it cost us the 12.00 dollars for the one cd instead of 36 for 3.

My other tip is to keep a small pack of Post it notes in your day pack to cover the little "eye" on the automatic Toilets. It has scared my niece when it would flush when she is still sitting on the seat. With the post it over the eye, it won't flush til you remove the paper. It has saved a few clothing changes when we've incountered these toilets in shopping malls in our home town.
My daughter used to hold it forever because she was scared to death of the automatic flushers.. I used to have to hold my hand over it and hope it wouldn't flush!

Great tip!

Codes! Otherwise, I'd never have known there was an alternative to rack rates! :scared1:

The Unofficial Guide's and the DIS's strategies for getting that elusive CRT PS. It worked for me back in 2002, though I haven't tried to push my luck since!

The simple importance of planning - PS's, having at least a general plan for what we want to accomplish each day and knowing which of those things to do first and avoid bottlenecks. It's so practical, maximizing our time, which also helps the vacation be more magical! :wizard:

What is a PS? What kind of codes? Where can this guide be found? :) :)

My tip is...
buying souveniers outside of the parks. In 2005, we went 2 weeks before Christmas and I loved the idea of ornaments for souveniers, well they were so pricey for the amount that i had to buy...so i went to all the walgreens around and bought beautiful hand blown disney ornaments for $3.99/ea.

This time, I found the HUGE sale disney shopping.com was having and bought all my souveniers early. I got disney shirts for $2.99-$4.99!!!

I also used someones advice of purchasing things prior too for my son...so everyday he will have a little surprise for when he wakes up. And I tried to tailor it to the 'theme' of the day. and for the last night, he has to leave all his pullups for mickey and when he wakes up mickey will have left him some big boy undies!!! HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP WITH THE POTTY TRAINING!

PS=Priority Seating or making ADRs (advanced dining reservations). You can find public codes around this site and others. Just google disney discount codes, I'm sure mousesavers will show up. There are a number of guides that can help you with your trip. The Unofficial Guide is an 800 page book that is very informative. Plus, if you buy the book you are entitled to use their website for free. There are a number of other guides around, such as Tour Guide Mike.

One of my favorite tips:
Clean and save your soft drink lids or get a couple of spares from a CS location to carry with you.

When you buy the Mickey Mouse ice cream bar or any other kind with a stick, put the stick thru the straw hole. You can wrap a napkin around the stick near the straw hole.

This helps keep you and your kids clean while enjoying those melting yummy ice creams bars. :)

Wow. Best food-related tip I've ever read!

* Get a wallet insert for pictures. $0.50 at Claire's Boutique or Icing acessory shops in most malls. They had colorful plastic inserts too.

Put Driver's license, room card, park card and a little cash in each of four pockets...neat and compact in my pocket.

Madison :)

Great Idea!!! Thanks!

I just read all 27 pages. I have been to WDW 3 times mostly with DB and once with him and his family. We drive now from NC so my tips are taliored to that.

I don't bother with travel sized things. For me it is a waste of extra money not to mention a waste of packaging. I take full sized bottles of shampoo, cond, lotion, tooth paste, and body wash.

We did bring our own water to the park.

We never took a midafternoon break, we just don't rush around and then fall asleep everynight with no problem

We used the shoe over the door holder... expect it didn't fit over the bathroom door at POR, we hung it on the rod in the closet. I would like to know how other people get theirs to fit.

I laugh when I read people suggesting pressed pennies as an inexpensive souvie... We have spent over 500 on pressed pennies and quarters. We Love every second of it.

Tips for the next time we go. (Hopefully this summer)
Do a tour - Last time we did behind the seeds tour. Amazing!
This time I am going to attempt to do some laundry mid week

:) I didn't make it through this entire thread so it may have been posted already, but one of the photopass photographers suggested that we take a photo of the number on our photopass card in case it got lost. Fortunately we didn't lose it, but after all of the work filling it up, I would have been so upset if we lost it!
