What did you do/get for your 20th wedding anniversary?

I didn't make it to 20, but for my parents' 20th, my dad had dinner catered to our house for him and my mom, and had a trio come play music for them while they ate. My mom loved it.

We went to Italy for 2 weeks.

We went to Secrets Wild Orchid in Jamaica for 5 nights. We had not been back to Jamaica since our honeymoon. We had a great time despite hurricane Sandy...It wasn't very nice of her to follow us home, though! 2 hurricanes in 1 week!!!

DH and I are approaching 29 years and really don't do gifts. We did go to the Outer Banks for the weekend for 25 and may do something for 30. We've been busy paying for 2 kids to go to college and grad school so didn't have the $$ for trips.

I sometimes feel like we are the only ones on this board who don't do extravagant things for birthdays and anniversaries. Maybe there are others.

For our 20th anniversary, my DH designed new wedding rings for us, five beautiful diamonds in an 18k gold channel cut setting. My favorite part is that our wedding scripture reference is engraved on the inside of the band - Ruth 1:16-17. Our original bands were too narrow for any engraving.

We also spent a week in London, but that was courtesy of Uncle Sam. I had a TDY scheduled to see about my new assignment, and the office suggested that he come, too, their "treat." A bonus was that he got a job offer with another office in the Embassy while we were there. We've been married 47 years and that was absolutely the best anniversary ever!

We took a month long trip to Norway, Sweden, Belgium and The Netherlands. At some point, I lost track of how much money we were spending.

We had just taken our first trip to WDW the month before. Boy, was I tired after all that.

I have no idea. Probably dinner. We also don't do big vacations or parties. We're also saving to put the kids through college. We're perfectly happily married for 32 years, but out to dinner and maybe some flowers is about the extent of the hoopla. That kind of thing just isn't important to us.

Man, I really had to dig deep into the memory files to remember what we did back then. (We'll celebrate our 37th this year)
We bought a new bedroom suite for ourselves- the reproduction 4 poster style that I had wanted for years. And then we spent a week at WDW. It was lovely.

We went to WDW. We went there on our honeymoon and made a plan to bring future family every ten years. We don't generally do gifts or a big thing for other years, though I'm thinking we might try to do something special for 25.

Count us in. Married 41 years. We are retired so we travel a fair amount now and chalk our trips up to each other's birthday/anniversary/Christmas gifts. Before retirement, Life (and the Army) got in the way of too many "events". I remember we were packing up for a PCS (transfer) on our 25th anniversary so we were barely on speaking terms then; ha.

DH and I took a trip to WDW last year for our 20th anniversary. Our first vacation without DD15 since she was born almost 16 years ago. We honeymooned at WDW in 1992, so it was a very special trip.

Just had mine last month! We went out to dinner and have a 11 day trip to WDW coming up in a few weeks (with the kids).

I doubt we did anything special. This year (32nd) we happened to be visiting our daughter in Los Angeles but that was just coincidence. We're not much into making a big deal out of things.

My parents didn't do anything big for any anniversary until their 25th. Then they went to NYC for a weekend and saw a Broadway show.

I think same goes for most of my family. People look at 25 as the big number not 20.

We took our first trip to Europe (England/Scotland) as well as I arranged a surprise BBQ/picnic and was able to get her matron of honor to attend as surprise (lives out of state).

I took my wife to WDW for the EPCOT International FLower and Garden Festival for our 25th this year. She had always wanted to go but schedules never worked out. I started planning about a year in advance to make it happen. It was also our first WDW trip without the kiddos. Now she would like to do the Food and Wine Festival. Maybe for our 26th. The timing is worse for F&W because she teaches. Also, my DD11 said nobody goes back to Disney without her. DS20 said he wouldn't mind another Disney trip. He wasn't all that keen last time we were there as a family. You know the teenage years and all. Here's to hoping.

P.S. She treated me to dinner at V&A!!!!

I doubt we did anything special. I didn't really consider 20 a milestone like 25 or 50. But we also had a little one that had just turned 2 so we were still needing sitters! We had our 35th this year and we didn't do anything special for that one either.

Our 20th is coming up in September. We are going to WDW, where we also honeymooned. Couldn't think of anywhere more appropriate!

We went to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico for 5 days.
