What did you do/get for your 20th wedding anniversary?

Our was October 2013, A week at WDW but instead of going in October when our anniversary is - we went the 2nd week of December so I could see the Christmas decorations, Osbourne lights and Candelight Processional. We had a great trip.

We went to Disney (just the two of us). DH surprised me with a vow renewal in the Rose Garden at Magic Kingdom. We have pictures with the Castle in the background.

He also bought me a diamond necklace. I gave him a complete collection of Twilight Zone on DVD. He really wanted it although next to what he did it didn't look as impressive.

We spent our 25th anniversary at Disney also but my sister and her family were there. We are spending our 28th there in November.

See the pattern? We have thought about other locations but we can't find one we would enjoy as much as Disney.

We just celebrated our 20th on June 26th. We spent it at the baseball field watching DS13 play ball and we had dinner from the concession stand.popcorn:: We're romantic like that! :lmao:We enjoyed every minute of it!!! :lovestruc

We took the family on a trip out west for our 20th, though it wasn't on our actual anniversary. We celebrated 25 years this past May, but we didn't do anything special.

Ours is in October. I know we spent at least one at a high school football game.

I remember for my parents 20th they took me and my brother to Niagara Falls for 4 days!

Key West for a week.On our actual anniversary,it rained, the Bears lost to the Packers in the playoffs, and our dinner fondue broke twice. Not the best way to spend it,but we're still together!

We try to be away each anniversary, not always a big trip, just away. For our 20th we went on a cruise. We don't exchange gifts on our anniversary.

We took a back-to-back cruise on the Disney Dream. No kids! 9 days of pure heaven, with 3 stops at Castaway Cay. It was a perfect 20th anniversary gift!

By the time the 25th rolls around we'll be in the college tuition phase, so 20 was the time to celebrate!

I think same goes for most of my family. People look at 25 as the big number not 20.

I love presents and I love to party so we celebrated our 20th! DH gave me an 3 stone anniversary ring and he started wearing his wedding band. He did not like to wear it, but after 20 years of begging, pleading and cajoling he relented! :lovestruc

Looking forward to a celebrating our 25th in a few years! I am thinking it might be time for a 2nd honeymoon.

For our 20th we went to Aruba for a week, for our 25th we went to Key west for a week. Today is our 26th, I think we are just going to go out for dinner.

For our 10th anniversary, we went to the beach for a few days w/o the kids.

We were supposed to go on a cruise for our 15th anniversary. However, our youngest child was only 10 months old & I was breastfeeding him, so we couldn't go away like we'd planned.

So, I hope, for our 20th (in 2 years!), we'll get our cruise!

My parents celebrated 20 years just yesterday. They didn't do much of anything, but they're big Princess Bride fans, so my dad got a shirt that said 'Get back witch!' and my mom got one that said 'I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!', which they wore to celebrate.

We flew out for our first visit to Disneyland then continued over to Hawaii for 10 days We went there for our honeymoon so thought it would be fun to go back for a visit---and took along our son with us!

We'll be celebrating 20 in October and we have key west booked for a long weekend.

We never did gifts for each other ...We got the idea from George W. Bush and His lovely wife...they had said that they dont do that ..but every once in a while they would get a surprise gift and it was with great thought..

but around the 20th anniversary mark..My original wedding set was to small and they tried to extend it..but couldnt ..so he bought me a new set..I still love this set ...and we just celebrated our 46th..
We didnt know about Disney back then...not until our 25th anniversary..
Now we just say..we are going to Disney for our wedding anniversary or our Christmas gift to each other...and we are happy..;)

We always opt for the vacation. We value experiences more than stuff.

20th anniversary- Vegas
40th Birthdays- Paris
25th anniversary- England and France
50th birthdays- trip was cancelled as DH battled cancer and had a stem cell transplant.
51st birthdays- we just returned from Hawaii with our two children. We took them along as we celebrated DH's restored health.

Usually we just go to dinner on our anniversary but that year my dh got me a diamond anniversary band. I didn't get him anything as we usually don't do gifts :rolleyes1

For our 20th anniversary, DH & I spent 9 days in California seeing Disneyland, LA, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and then up to Santa Barbara. Normally we just go to dinner, but this was a milestone. For those that said that they don't see the 20th anniversary as a milestone, not like the 25th or 50th, for me, it is. My parents have 3 marriages between them, one to each other and then they each remarried after the divorce, and none of those unions lasted more than 17 years, and many of those years weren't happy, so to me personally, being happily married for 20 years is a personal accomplishment worthy of celebration :)
