What did you buy at WWOHP?

going to ask a crazy question here but...... does anyone have a chocolate frogs package that they could tell me if there are nuts/nut warning, coconut or palm oil in them? My 10yo would be thrilled to be able to get something from WWOHP when we are there in October but has allergies and is usually limited as to what he can have.... usually that's nothing edible!!

How about the butter beer? anyone know if there is a link somewhere to the ingredients in that??

Allergy Information on chocolate frog box: shares equipment with and produced in facility containing peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg and wheat.

Ingredients are: sugar, palm kernel oil, milk solids, cocoa, soy lecithin and vanilla.

PALM KERNEL OIL? Are you kidding me? That means the chocolate frogs aren't even real chocolate, they're mockolate. They must be out of their minds to charge that price for imitation chocolate.

(To legally be classified as "chocolate," chocolate has to contain cocoa butter, not a cheap filler like palm kernel oil. PKO is also bad for the environment and has 80% saturated fat, as opposed to about 54% for cocoa butter.)

I'm disappointed in Universal. No "chocolate" frogs for us. :sad2:

I have read on here from someone that has tried them that they taste like cheap Easter candy chocolate. That's a bummer to me. At $10 a pop you would think they would taste good...We will still get one, but definitely not a whole mess of them.

I wonder if they used PKO to keep it from melting. We had our chocolate frog in our backpack the entire afternoon. I was expecting just a blob but was surprised it retained its form.

I would greatly prefer "melty and tasty" to "frog-shaped, but cheap Easter bunny quality."

not sure if it has dairy but I am lactose intolerant and had no ill effects from it so maybe it's not dairy. But you never know could be like that Aloha Isle whip junk at Disney???

My friend also bought me the Snape Keyring as a thank you gift $6.95
That was the only Snape item there, anywhere. I told one of the D&B managers to pass on that women over 20 like Snape, Remus and Sirius and they should have a bit more of their stuff.

They will have stuff on the online store in a month or two (once they've reordered). They are out of piggmy puffs and those sweaters Emma was wearing in that video in all but youth small size.

I really wish there was more Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw merch. I know they're not quite as popular as the other two houses, but the more serious fandom really digs deep into those houses. I know I do. :( Hopefully people in the parks have told them this and they're planning to restock with more items from different houses. And hopefully, it's by October.

I actually saw quite a bit of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff merch. Several style shirts for each house, bags, banners, pins, keyrings, scarves, ties, robes, baseball caps, lanyards, wax seal sets. Those items could be found for all four houses (in fact Universal store in Port of entry and Citywalk had a section with each house's stuff, and for the lesser three houses it was pretty equal).

Obviously, there was a bit more in Gryf. colors because that is the trio's house.

I got quite a few items for Ravenclaw house but it was still skimpy compared to griff and Slys. I really wanted a Ravenclaw journal or stationary set but no luck. Maybe when they see what a gold mine they have here the merchandise selection will expand. I'll be back next summer in July  (hope I survivie the humidity) for a Harry Potter conference. :woohoo:

v gan: I read somewhere that Butterbeer was mostly plain old Cream soda with a splash of butterscotch flavoring.

My one DS is a Hufflepuff fan so I hope he can find souvenirs.
