What did you bake today ? OK if not from scratch

I know. I was torn if I should even frost it! I thought it could also be a Captain America cake without dragging the toothpick through.

I want to do this with different colors like this tie-dye cake.

What if you cut it in half and frosted the middle? Like a frosting sandwich. Same amount of icing, but cool fireworks on top. You could add one of those glazes that is clear on top if you want more of a finished look.

What was the experience like?
How did you prep it? Sear first than sv or somethinelse ?
How do you like your machine?
Yes, I’ve a lot of questions, LOL
1. Fun
2a.Garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, butter, steak into ziploc. Dip into water to get air out, zip.
2b. Set to proscribed 129F for medium rare x 1hr
2c. Hand bags of anemic meat to searer-in-chief, with plate.
3. No complaints. Came out exactly medium rare as predicted. Saw it at Sam’s Club for $150. Been shopping around a bit. It’s a decent deal since it comes with the tank and stuff. Looking forward to trying cookies and egg bites.

My BFF and I teamed up to cater a "drive-by wedding" for the daughter of another of our dear friends yesterday. We baked practically everything imaginable! :faint: I did the wedding cake myself, which they cut and served, and we split the rest of the list: an apple pie, two cheesecakes (berry swirl and chocolate glazed), profiteroles, lemon trifle, pecan caramel brownies, a beautiful jelly mold and fruit salad. It was an impressive spread and everything turned out perfectly but due to Covid restrictions, the tiny crowd only made a dent in it. The newlyweds will be living on nothing but love and dessert for quite a while.

America's Test Kitchen Snickerdoodle cookies!!!

Its a pretty easy recipe. Longest part is rolling the cookie dough balls in the cinnamon and sugar. Recipe made 48 cookies with the cookie scoop I used. Recipe said it would make 24 but they must have a had a much larger scoop than I did.

:goodvibes No. Due to our Covid restrictions, BFF and I couldn’t actually go to the gathering - it’s a maximum of 10 people outdoors only. We delivered everything and then left them to it. I’m cross with myself because I didn’t even take a picture of the cake, which I always do. I’m sure the bride’s mom took pictures and will share them with us in due course, after she’s recovered a little.:faint:

It’s crazy how much planning, detail and just plain hard work goes into all these creative, out-of-the-box pandemic events that are happening, trying to have a great and memorable experience without violating any rules. I’ve been involved in quite a few over the past 16 months. So much easier to just write a cheque and roll up to a venue with everything catered.

Healthy summer treat
I just realized she was a Disney movie actress too. That’s cool.

No baking today. Yesterday was DH's birthday and late Saturday night after he went to bed I made fudge brownies from scratch for his favorite treat - a brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream, sweetened, crushed raspberries and hot fudge sauce. I baked them in one of my new flower-shaped silicone molds to fancy it up a little and they slipped out of the pan perfectly and looked really nice dusted with icing sugar. :goodvibes
