Hi everyone! :wave2:

Hope you all had a wonderful time while I was "absent" from the DISboards.

Tom and I went to Disneylandresort Paris

IMG_8441.jpg

for a long weekend from Oct 30th until Nov 2nd and attended the Halloween Party on October 31st!

Needless to say we had lots of yummy food, so I will interrupt my ongoing dining review for a review of DLRP food!

Just let me answer all the comments and I'll get right to work! ;)

I would have licked it clean

Chocolate, fruit, marshmallows.....oh boy!

I was thinking about it, but there were children in the room! :rotfl2:

About as many times as Tom tries on hats. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Why didn't you lick it? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I knew you would have! ;)

Kathy, you know me too well! We are already in the process of changing our February ADRs for Sunday :lmao: !

I came rather close to licking the little bowl, it was the kids eyes that made me shy away from doing so! :rotfl:

GF Cafe looks wonderful. I've never been there for dinner, only lunch, and missed it my last three trips, but I think I'll have to go for dinner next trip.

I can highly recommend the GFC! We have been for lunch and dinner and have always enjoyed it very much!

I have wanted to try the GF cafe on each of our last 3 trips, but I haven't been able to bring myself to going with our 4 kids. With 3 of them "adult" age by Disney's definition, I was afraid it would cost a lot for something they didn't like. I'd love to try it sometime if it were just DW and myself. That salmon looks amazing!

I hope you get to experience it soon, Dave! It is a wonderful restaurant and if you are too worried about your beautiful girls not finding something they like, they are very accomodating and they also offer a nice pasta dish - huge enough to share! :goodvibes

oohhh chocolate fondue

This one was really outstanding - I am so looking forward to going back and ordering it again! :cloud9:

Caught up again! Love the review of GFC. We plan to try it next year but it may be lunch rather than dinner.

And you can add us to the didn't enjoy Boma for dinner crowd. Planning on trying breakfast next trip though.

Sorry I can't pop in as often as I would like. Had a recent job change and they actual frown on Dising (or internet use of any kind) during the day! Go figure?! :rotfl:

We have had both, lunch and dinner at the GFC and we really enjoyed both! I LOVE the GF burger with lobster, asparagus and Hollandaise!

Breakfast at Boma is very good and there is loads to choose from - be sure to get the juice, it is devine!

I know how it feels not being able to get on the DIS at work. We actually ended up getting a netbook to take to school, so I use my OWN internet between lessons (we are free to do whatever we want then).

Oh that fondue looks delicious !!!!!!

Rosie, you should try it one day - it is finger licking good! ;)

That fondue looks fantastic. I love chocolate fondue. My mom isn't coming until Monday afternoon, so we're on our own for Sunday night's EMH, which is why I'm planning on going without Mark and Max. I saw a couple toddlers out that late last year and they were miserable. I felt really bad for them. I'm just hoping Max makes Illuminations once!

Your trip to DLRP is so soon! How exciting!

The fondue WAS wonderful! And the GFC is awesome, we love it there.

I know what you mean about the toddlers at late EMHs! Last year we saw a few fast asleep in their strollers, pool little souls!

Can't believe we are already BACK from DLRP! :sad2: It was fun though! Now we have WDW to look forward too, just a little over a hundred days to go! :yay:
Can't wait to meet you in person, Tina! .......... and Mark and Max too!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Lick the bowl? I just licked my screen!

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update, we always had great meals at GFC

It's a great place to have a nice meal at! :thumbsup2 Glad you like it too!

Welcome back honey, we missed you alot!! You are going to tell us all about DLP too right??? I need my Disney fix and an overseas one will do nicely!

WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've missed you.

We missed you too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to visit DLRP one day - it is such a beautiful place to be, even with all the French around! ;) :rotfl2:

Welcome! Yes, we missed you! :grouphug:

Thank you! You were on our minds a lot! And I even found a few little bits and pieces for you and little Sophia! Will PM you later!

Welcome back honey, we missed you alot!! You are going to tell us all about DLP too right??? I need my Disney fix and an overseas one will do nicely!

Thank you, Nicki! We missed you too, and talked about you a lot ........ especially when picking up French BAGUETTE!!!

Sure I am gonna tell ya all about DLP! I hope to be able to do a bit of the dining review tonight ...... but Photobucket has decided to be a pain, so I hope it will work out!

We were so lucky, we had 4 beautiful days and right when we had to leave it started to rain - the parks were packed, but it was fun to just stroll and people watch! We're no longer going to do rides, rides and more rides. ;)

I've been reading your reviews ever since I discovered the DIS....and they are just fantastic:worship: Thanks so much for sharing your experiences:hippie:

Thank you for being such a loyal reader! :goodvibes It's wonderful to be able to share our dining "adventures" with so many here on the DISboards!

I've never been to GFC. It looks good though, I'll have to put it on my "to try" list!

It really is a wonderful place to eat! The servers are so friendly and helpful there. We always enjoyed our meals there! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

The GF cafe looks great. well done on not licking the bowl :goodvibes

I have read so much about Disney Fairytale Weddings and we were so excited to finally get to see a bit of it! ;) The carriage looked very fairytale like and we were stunned at how many people were involved in "getting the show on the road".

We love the GFC! And I had to think hard about the bowl licking! :rotfl2:

Great review of GFC Karin

Also probably the first time I have ever seen a Terry's Chocolate Orange referenced in a dining review

I knew someone would have fun reading my reference! But that is what it reminded me the most. My aunt used to send us these oranges and after the first bite, we both were sure it tasted like "Britain". :rotfl2:

All caught up :)

Welcome back, Stefy!

Guess you had a lot of yummy food yourself! EoS is so good! We love it ...... unfortunately it is too close to Wolfgang's and he VERY often wins the "race"! :rotfl2: But we really enjoyed our sandwiches - oh, and EoS is coming to the Disney Village in Paris too - can't wait for them to open!

We are so happy we will be able to go back to WDW in February! Now I can begin to change around ADRs again! :rotfl:

I am glad you are here, Christine! Reading all 25 pages! Wow! :worship:
No wonder you remember the chocolate fondue - it was devine! I wish I had some right now and I just had dinner! :lmao:
We have NEVER made it to the GFC for breakfast yet. I ALWAYS make an ADR there and we always cancel the night before because we just can't drag our tired bones out of bed! :lmao:

Just bumping this up!!!

Thank you, Rosie!

Mini Dining Review Disneyland Paris

Day 1, Oct 30

Tom and I went on our annual Halloween trip to Disneyland Paris last weekend. Needless to say that we did have lots of fun and quite a bit of food, so here is a short review of our dining adventures.

Part 1, Lufthansa flights to Frankfurt and Paris

Our flight was at 6.05am, so before we left for the airport, we just had a quick sandwich at home before we left.

Our flight left on time and we were soon at cruising altitude.
The flight attendants started handing out snacks and drinks. We both had some Coke

IMG_8395.jpg

and a big macceroon. The bottom part had been dipped in dark chocolate and it was moist and chewy. Very good.

The flight only last 50 minutes and we were soon in Frankfurt. While waiting for our connecting flight we witnessed the most beautiful dawn

IMG_8409.jpg

IMG_8403.jpg

while munching the sesame rolls we had prepared at home.

At 9am we boarded the plane to Paris. This is another 50 minute flight and we were served drinks and snacks again.
Tom had some more Coke, while I had some water.

IMG_8413.jpg

We both got a cheese sandwich, which we took with us, but we ended throwing it out in the evening after carrying it around all day! :sad2:

Once we had landed we drove to our hotel and since we could not check in we decided to go to the Disney Village for lunch.

Mini Dining Review Disneyland Paris

Still Day 1, Oct 30

Part 2, lunch at Annette's diner

We arrived at the Disney Village at around noon and went straight to Annette's. We were seated in no time.

IMG_8417.jpg

We both ordered a Diet Coke (NO free refills here!) and went to have a look at the menu

IMG_8421.jpg

Tom ordered the Double Rockabilly Burger. A double decker burger, fried onion ring, bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce and french fries. The burger was huge and a handmade patty. It was cooked perfectly medium and really hit the spot. Tom liked it very much and ate every bite.

IMG_8418.jpg

IMG_8419.jpg

I ordered the Little Italy Burger from their "World Burger Tour" Menu. It is ground beef, mozzarella, eggplant, sundried tomatoes, ham, pesto, foccacia bread and Annette's sauce, served with coleslaw and french fries.
It was :cloud9: ....... so good. A perfectly cooked burger on olive foccacia. The other ingredients really enhanced the flavours and it felt like a little bit of Italian heaven. I was really happy with my choice and finished off my burger. The coleslaw didn't have much taste and was rather on the sweet side, so most of it was left in its little container. Fries were good and plenty of them.

We both decided to order dessert! :goodvibes

IMG_8430.jpg

Tom ordered Annette's Cafe Gourmand, coffee, accompanied by a mini doughnut, a dark chocolate brownie and a mini milk shake. I tried a bit of the brownie and it was a very good and gooey one. The doughnut was your regular doughnut out of a box and the milk shake was thick and had a nice vanilla taste. He got an espresso with it and really enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

IMG_8425.jpg

I had my heart set on the Cheesiest of Cheesecakes. Classic Cheesecake with Philadelphia cream cheese, sauteed apples with Annette's Caramel sauce, toasted almonds, caramel ice-cream and whipped cream.
Oh boy that was good. The ice cream had such a wonderful caramel taste and the apples were sweet, while the cheese cake was more like a brulee cheesecake with a crispy sugar top and a silky smooth cake. Soooooooooooooo good!

Once we were done eating at Annette's we drove to the supermarket to stock up on cold meats, spread, tomatoes, chips/crisps and drinks. We picked up our supply of salt as well. They have the most incredible sea salt and fleur de sel, which we always bring home with us.

Once we were done shopping we went back to the Citea, our "villa" hotel to check in.
