What deck on the Dream would you pick...7, 8, or 9 midship?

Price isn't an issue, its a nominal difference. Just wondering which deck you would pick and why?

Currently we are booked in a family ocean view stateroom with verandah, a Category 4B on deck 8 midship. I am contemplating a change to either a 4C on deck 7 midship or a 4A on deck 9 midship. What deck do you think will be the quietest? Best view? Best for motion? Or any other reason you can give me insight on. I just can't decide and need some feedback. TIA! :)

We, too, are booked in Cat. 4B, Deck 8, on the Dream in March.

We chose that one because cabins, rather than public areas, were above and below us.

Have no doubt you'll enjoy your location.

Best wishes.

We are sailing in August and also have a 4B cabin on Deck 8.

Dh and I talked about it and I agree...we like that it only has cabins above and below so we are sticking w/ Deck 8. Some 4D cabins became available but we thought the price difference was negligible and we are happy where we are.

Also 4B/Deck 8 because of the above/below 'buffer'. We'll have to wait until May to see if it was the right choice.

Thanks everyone for the replies...guess I was just second guessing myself. Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

The Cat 4C's on deck 7 are also sandwiched between cabin only decks, right? I booked a Cat 4C for our cruise intentionally for this reason. I wouldn't expect much difference between the Cat 4B and 4C. I'm a first time cruiser, so my assumptions could be completely wrong. Can someone tell me the advantages of the Cat 4B over the Cat 4C?

As far as I understand it is only deck level. Dh and I only saw 4D's become available (after they weren't when we booked...only 4B) after be booked which are all on deck 6 above all the kid's rooms on deck 5.

It wasn't worth the $50 to be above the kid's deck!

We picked CAT 4B, deck 8 midship, halfway in between elevators. I wanted no pools, public areas above us, no public areas below us, and as far away from elevators as possible. Staterooms 8612 & 8614 to be exact. March 13th Sailing on the Dream. I see a lot of you think the same way as I do!

Looks as though a lot of great minds run in the same direction here!: goodvibes

Hope everyone has a wonderful cruise (I know you will) and a safe journey to the port. :boat:

Best wishes.

:thumbsup2 Let me throw you a curve, I would go with a cat-4d on deck 6 if it is available. Let me tell you a little secret....deck 5 ... yes deck 5 the "kids" deck is the quietest on the whole ship, all their rooms are extra sound proof. On the Wonder or Magic we all ways tryed to get deck 5. Coming up in 2011 on The DREAM , 5E deck 5 all so on the FANTASY in 2012, 5E deck 5. So if you can't get a 4 D on deck 6, then go for a 4 C on deck 7.Look at the $$ you save.Lower decks have less motion. Any room with a verandah has a great view. And enjoy, :) HAPPY SAILING :)

Why not deck 10? Concerns about the pool noise?? Please enlighten!

Well...we are booked midship on deck 10 Cat 4A. We too debated back and forth for quite some time before finally settling on the cabin we chose. I am not traveling with young children (that need to nap) so noise during the day from the deck above wont be a problem, as we dont intend on spending any time in our stateroom during the day as we have excursions planned for Nassau, and our only other stop is CC. We figured since we are on a 3 nt, and we want to be up and at it fairly early, we can always use the noise from the deck chairs early in the AM (as we have heard on these boards, can be an issue) as our wake up call perhaps?!?!? LOL Actually what made the decision for us is the fact that we are directly below the quick service food areas. Traveling with teens...need I say more. Anyway, regardless of the deck we have chosen, noise or no noise, it is going to be the best vacation possible!! :woohoo:

We went for deck 8 as we were worried about our balcony being too shaded from the overhang on deck 11, if we went higher to 9 or 10.

I'm curious about the verandah cabins on deck 5 that look to have the big balconies ...but there again, they don't seem as though they will be all that private with the whole of the side of the ship looking down on them ?....I don't think I'd like the feeling that we are being watched ! :confused3
