We are finally returning to wdw!! family of 4, two parents, 18 year old girl and 15 year old boy. We will be spending 4 days: august 22-25, although the 25th we will likely leave to a different hotel around late afternoon or evening, so we wouldn’t stay late. I am hoping to strategize well so we don’t have to use genie+. We will likely do rope drop, hopefully midday break, and then stay to park close but I’m worried about burning the fam out. Here’s my rough plan, advice is appreciated:

22: MK
23: DHS
24: AK (late arrival …??? since park opens so early)
25: either MK or DHS if we didn’t finish everything we wanted or maybe epcot (we’ve been to epcot before in 2016 and weren’t big fans)

We will be staying at pop. I was wondering if I should put the AK day in between MK and dhs bc they are both very busy and AK is more chill? thoughts?
Thank you, any help is appreciated!!

I would put AK as your last day since it opens early and you are planning on leaving earlish. 24th could be a second MK day. If you are getting G+ just stack for a later arrival.

Are you sure you want to skip EPCOT? Remy and Guardians will be open since the last time you went. I would think Guardians would be a hit with teenagers unless they aren't into Marvel or rollercoasters.

I just don’t know if the park is worth it just for those two rides…
I do think though that my brother would love the ride

If I'm going to make a park a half/partial day, it's either Epcot or AK, and lately more so AK now that Epcot has Guardians. I feel like while we enjoy AK and we have a few favorites there, we just don't meander as much as we do at Epcot. I think you're fine with the plan that you have and you're 100% right that DHS and MK are not as laid back as AK. I think it's good to put your non full day park sandwiched so you have a little reprieve.

I do usually check out the touring plans calendars not so much for crowds but just to review events, extended evening hours, etc. to see if there's anything going on that could mess us up or influence our decisions any.

I'm not one for skipping any of the parks so I'd stick Epcot in there but I understand why you don't want to. I'd do an early morning at AK on your AK day. You can get most of it done if you aren't interested in taking your time and actually enjoying the little hidey holes and be out probably by 2 or so. You could easily knock out FoP, EE and safari on early entry (although Safari doesn't open until the park does). I would think that and Dinosaur would most likely be all your teenagers would be interested in. I will say AK would be a full day park for us if we didn't hop. Because we hop, we tend to do a few hours until around noon on our reservation morning then go back in the later afternoon one or two days. AK closes earlier than all the other parks and tends to open early.

As far as Epcot, it has always been my son's favorite park, even when he was little but he loved to go to the countries and talk to the CMs. While your teenagers might not be thrilled with WS there is a good bit to do in the front of the park. I'm not sure with the ages of your kids they are going to want to do two days at MK. While there are a lot of rides to do there, a good at least half of them are kids rides.
