What days do people check in?

I'm just wondering what days are most popular for check-in? Do most people schedule their vacations Sunday through Sunday so a large percentage of them are checkin in on Sunday?

I ask because we'll be arrining at AKL on a Tuesday morning, but we're thinkiing we'll spend a few hours at Downtown Disney before we check in. But, we really want a king bed, so I'm wondering if we should go check in first, then head out to DTD? That would not be as convenient for us. I know I'm was overthinking things. but what else do you do when your trip's 18 days away?

There are 79 King rooms AND 65 handicap accessible king rooms. Decide if you can live with a HAR. I'd get there early and be prepared if you don't get a K room. I think a lot of people check in over the weekend and may not have checked out by Tuesday am. I'd check in, drop of your luggage and then drive over to DTD.

I agree with Lewisc. Even if you can't get into your room, check in so you'll be further up the chain for the king.

What's the difference between a HAR and a regular room? Do they have a tub?

Any idea where the King rooms are? Are they scattered throughout or are they all on one floor or what?

This Aug DS13 & I are checking into
VWL on a Sat
WL on a Fri
BCV on a Sun

We always stay Sat through Sun (the next Sunday :goodvibes ). We end up getting in very early Sat. (we drive), check in, letting them hold our luggage until the room is ready, and go do something. The earlier you check in, even if the room isn't available yet, the better the room you get--at least always in our experience (especially at AKL).

We usually check in on a Friday and do a long weekend, checking out either Monday or Tuesday....no kids yet so long weekends are easy for us :)

We normally check in on Thursdays about lunchtime, since I really can't take long vacations at work, I take long weekends.

We're checking in Saturday and out Friday

HAR have roll in showers, no tub.
King rooms are scattered throughout.

If we are doing family weeklong trips we either check in late Friday night (if we fly), or early Saturday morning (if we drive).

If we fly, we check out on Sunday, if we drive, we check out on Saturday.

My solo trips really vary. This year for my December trip, I arrive late Tuesday night, and I'm flying out early Thursday morning, the following week, so checking out Wednesday.

We do saturday to saturday. We find that when we check out it is always busy, but since we've stayed concierge the last few times, check in was fast.

I am going on a trip in December (probably the 23-27) I wonder how packed the hotels will be and how hard it will be to get a king bed????

Should we stay in
ASMu
ASM
ASSports
Pop Century

We usually stay in Pop Century but we were thinking about trying one of the Allstars this time. What do you think about it considering the crowds??? Is it THAT bad??? I think it's going to be just great! :cloud9:
