What computer games do you play?

Right now: Mostly Guild Wars
but also
Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, RCT2, RCT3, Battle for Middle Earth 2, Warhammer, Fable, Shogun Total War, Snood ( I could keep going on, but this is what I have been playing reciently)

I picked up a cheap copy of Civ 3, but just can't seem to get into it. I love the Command and Conquer games and thought the Civ series was similar. I haven't really had much time to play it, so maybe I haven't given it a chance yet, but it just seems to move a little too slow.

The Civ series games can easily last for days. They are more for people that want to really get into the long term strategy vs. the action you get in real time strategy games like C&C or Warcraft.

Hearts of Iron 2 games can last for days also. My current game is one I originally started in mid-March. I can play a full game-year in the course of two or three real hours. I'm about 75% of the way through the overall timeframe (games start in 1936 and end in 1953 - I'm in early 1948). I'm playing as the Soviet Union, but the cool thing is I can then jump in any of the previous saved games and play as any other country (like Germany, or the U.S., or what about one of the minor countries like Brazil or Poland?) from that point on - it truly is a branching what-if? kind of scenario.

I play a bunch of games, because that's my line of work! I work for SOE, the company that made EQ and EQII. Hi to all the folks playing it--glad you're having fun!

Right now, I'm playing the new expansion for Oblivion, Command & Conquer 3, STALKER, and a couple games on the Wii. Oh, and Puzzle Quest, which I think a lot of you would really enjoy (the folks who said they like games like Bejeweled). It's out for PSP and DS, and I think there is a PC version coming eventually.

I'm also playing WoW, but even though it is a very well done game, I don't like it that well. I'm playing it mostly for work, so I can have a good handle on its mechanics.

I Hate WoW!! Glad to see anotherperson who see's some of the problems with it.

Please,Laralyn, if you guys are going to make a game anywhere near to somethign like it, change the play mechanics A TON. They are so played out with ever other MMORPG that it's booring to play most of them!

The game I'm working on is kind of an anti-WoW. It will probably get compared to WoW for a few reasons, but the gameplay will have almost nothing in common.

By anti-WoW, I mean the opposite, not that we're against WoW. I do think it's a great game... just not a game that I like personally.

Seriously, I like Pokemon, and I used to be on VMK but grew out of it. I like to see my friends on the VMK community board but no-one hardly posts there anymore!

Could I get you to grab all of your fellow SOE employees and go help out the Vanguard team? Please? Could be great game but needs lots of help right now and doesn't seem to be coming very fast.
