What common phrases do you hate?

I also can't stand it when someone refers to a group that I'm in as "you guys." Restaurant servers are notoriously guilty of this. I'm not, by any stretch of the imagination, a guy. I'd prefer "folks" as an alternative: "Would you folks like to order now?"

I'm fairly certain that someone will take offense at "folks"; oh well.

Folks makes me feel old. I say you guys all the time. :) It's the Michigan in me.

"Just giving you a heads up." or "Thanks for the heads up."

"My bad"

And I"m already sick of "I know, right?"

See, that doesn't bother me - I AM old! And I think it sounds more respectful than you guys. Even worse would be you people - I think that sounds snarky.

I don't mind either you guys or you folks. I detest the phrase "you people". That's a big pet peeve of mine.

I hate the phrase:

"Loves me some......"

or

"I love me some......"

:crazy2:

I hate the koolaid reference too.

Whatever bandwagon you jumped on is NOT a death sentence!!!

"Dude"-said by anyone but a surfer."Drinking the Koolaid"-a horrid reference to mass murder."Baby Mama"-absolutely awful.I'm sure there are more, but those come right to mind.

Oh goodness, I can't stand 'hubby' 'hubs' and 'folks!'

I use hubby on the disboard because y'all wouldn't like it, if i keep calling him sexy like in real life.:guilty:

so what is better Darling Husband DH which is annoying, just because he is sexy all the time doesn't mean he is always darling.;)

Hubby/hubs
Preggers (for pregnant)
Man cave
Drive truck (as in, "what do you do?" "I drive truck")

I'm sure there's more, but those jumped to mind right away.

I can't stand it when someone says, "I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit", or some variation along those lines.

I don't hate, but I don't get the phrase "taking it to the next level". And what I do hate is that I don't think that half the people who say it know what that "next level" is!

"You guys" to groups of people including men and women.

"So, I says..."

"You's" - who or what is a You's?????

Just 'Husband' is perfectly fine. All these D-this-and-that descriptions just make me scroll on because I don't want to decipher hieroglyphs.

I had a really bad boss who used 'perception is reality' which really pissed me off because he was being so fooled by bad employees that his perception had nothing to do with reality.
