My daughter's gown is dark pink. It has a halter neckline with beading. She gave her boyfriend a swatch of the fabric so I think he will have a pink cumberband.

It's a light teal. My daughter is going with a group of guy and girl friends. She isn't dating anyone and doesn't want to go with someone just for the sake of having a date.

Cobalt blue. :-) Just stunning color on her. First dress she tried on. And, she bought it. LOL.

She tried on others "just in case," but she still has this one.

Mine was cobalt... I had salmon colored accessories and date wore black tux with blue shirt and salmon tie... It looked awesome!

My dd's dress is nude up top and completely beaded and black on the bottom. Her friend date is wearing a light pink dress.

DS had 2 separate "grad" events (our equivalent to your senior prom) so he went with black and red. Black suit with a red shirt and black tie and suspenders to one and a black shirt and red tie and suspenders to the other. He looked spiffy! His date to the dance wore black and white but I'm pretty sure they never thought to try and coordinate. Her corsage did match his boutonniere though.

Just curious where you get prom dresses from. I'm still a year away with my daughter but she said they order online. I'm not a fan of that. In my day we went to bridal shops. Love hearing about prom dresses and gowns. So much fun.

My daughter got her's at Macy's. We went to some prom shops but everything was too blingy for her. This is her junior prom though so it isn't as big a deal as senior prom. I think for next year I will have her order online. She's very particular and very tiny (size 000). It's really hard for her to find things.

We tried the specialty stores/bridal and then after trying on at the bridal shop, ordered similar online but it didn't work out. (We also ordered her homecoming dress online and it was uncomfortable too but she wore it- did not want to repeat that experience. Not ordering online anymore.) We ended up getting it at Dillard's. She loves her dress, it is so comfy and it has pockets! It is two piece, with a black sleeveless top, and green, blue, pink flowers on the black skirt. Her boyfriend has a black tux with royal blue vest and tie.

We watched my nephew's Grand March last night and DD17 is so excited for hers this Saturday.

My daughter got hers at TJMaxx....we got very lucky. It was a single dress (not another one in the store like it), fit her beautifully (as in perfectly), and was priced reasonably. They had a few things. Pretty hit and miss though. I found the dress she bought at Needless Markup (oops Neiman Marcus) for 5x what we paid. Same exact dress. She felt pretty happy about that!

She had previously ordered one on line, and although her measurements were identical to what they claimed the size would fit, it was WAY too small for her. That one went back. It seems to me that is the risk with on line shopping. How in the world would you know how it would fit, and even if it's the "right" size, whether it looks good on your body type? Such a crap shoot. I prefer shopping in the store for gowns and special occasion dresses.

She's thinking of silver. Silver jewelry, nails, shoes and a silver blingy belt. Her date is doing a cobalt blue bow tie with his tux. :-)

Dis is renting a gray tux with a gray vest (they don't wear cummerbunds anymore). His date is wearing navy blue, so he'll get a matching tie.

DD's dress is a very light mint green, very pretty. We got it at Macy's on sale for $75! We were very happy! DD wasn't 100% sure she loved it, but it looks very nice on her and she was very happy with the price. (She's trying to save up money for a new car, so trying not to spend a whole lot)

My daughter school has a facebook site where they are posting the dresses. Hers is light green/blue.

That might be nice for sharing dress pics. DD and I have talked about a FB page for dresses. I've seen DD's dress at two other proms on Facebook. She showed a picture of it around a lot at school in hopes of deterring anyone else from getting it. When we got it late January, it was the only one there at Dillards, and we've stopped back a few more times and never saw it out then either. So that is good. At homecoming, we ordered her dress from China on Amazon and hers was the only dress that was duplicated, so that was weird! There will probably be no more than 50 girls at prom, so hopefully they are all different dresses.

I'm surprised! Even the 8th graders have an Instagram group for dresses! And sometimes it gets nasty - my friend had to buy her dd another dress for the 8th grade dance, even though the first one couldn't be returned.

DD's dress is red, halter style with beading (David's Bridal). Her date is wearing a black tux, black tie & black vest with a white shirt. He thought about getting red, but after looking at pictures he and DD decided they liked the black/white tux combo better than the black/white/red tux combo.

BTW I told my daughter she can't call it Prom. If she doesn't call it the Prom she doesn't go.
