What CM's really think!

on the isue of cm being rude.We were there in aug at SSR and were on ddp.Had to pay when we checked in.Paid in TC.CM said we dident give her enougth dw just got anouther out and gave it to her.I was sure we gave enougth asked for them so i could check.She was abrubt and rude about it.When i checked i was right we had origanaly gave right money.and we had given extra.Her exsuse"they all look the same TC $50+$100" to me its her job to check each one.Me from the uk dolars all look the same from $1-$100.Where as we have differnt colours for each amount.Who was at fault me for giving corect amount or her for not checking corectly

Room Ready is instead of preassigning rooms based on requests listed when you book, they offer you what is available (ready) when you check in.
 

I really don't care what CMs think.

What I care about is if I get the level of service I feel is appropriate for the money I paid. Currently, we get value commensurate with cost. I'd like to get more - I'd love it if we had spotless rooms (they've been clean enough) and room requests met (never happens). We have always gotten a room at check in - but I'd like it if that happened more often. And hey, if the CMs want to run out and supply me with Godiva, I'll only complain that they bothered with such lousy gourmet chocolate. But as long as we get our value out of our points, we will continue to go. When we don't we will sell. What CMs think of me behind my back is the least contributor to enjoying my trip - as long as they aren't purposefully rude to my face.
 
I will say that, overall, there's been much more of a "special" feeling on our DVC trips than there was when we traveled w/out DVC and stayed in moderates. I am sure the service is less than a full-service concierge deluxe.

I have been a member since '92 also, and I think things have mostly gotten better. Better benefits such as the discount on the AP and the option of utilizing DDP come to mind right off the bat. The addition of BWV, BCV, VWL, SSV and AKL have made my membership much more valuable to me. Sure the peach towels and placemats are long gone, but everything I bought and paid for is still there. As far as CM's go, I have rarely encountered a rude one, and I have enjoyed my encounters at check in and throughout the resort. I have always been made to feel welcome, and usually feel that a good effort has been put forth to get me a villa closely matching my requests. It may be because after dozens of visits, I still get that goofy excited look when I check in :goofy: Sometimes members are so stressed at check in, that they may convey a less than friendly attitude to the CM'S and human nature being what it is, may get some of that attitude back.

I would have to agree that housekeeping has slipped and my pet peeve is that check in is now AFTER 4PM instead of at 4PM. But I agree with the previous posters that is very difficult to hire quality people in that area, and I am inclined to think that this problem is throughout WDW and indeed, most of the US. As far as saying that costs have gone up at WDW, everything has gone up in cost and to expect costs at WDW to stay the same is just not realistic. Expenses are astronomical and it has to be passed on to the consumers - us.

All in all, I am still very pleased with my membership and seriously contemplating yet another Add On, this time at AKV :love:
