I have done my share of reading posts and can't decide which meal to try to reserve first. I have heard pros and cons of all three. Can u please help. I have DD3, DD6, DS10. Any help would be appreciated.

The only character meal available at Cinderella's Castle is at breakfast ... Cinderella's Royal Table (CRT)and it's very hard to get ressies for.

My grandkids (ages 7 and 9) LOVE Chef Mickey's (Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale) for dinner (they have a character breakfast too).

Another fun thing to do is the ice cream social at the Garden Grill in the Land (Epcot) w/Mickey & Friends.

If you can't get the CRT ressies, I suggest the Storybook Princess Breakfast at the Norweigan restaurant in Epcot (the name escapes me right now) and/or Cinderella Gala Feast dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridan.

Hi, the pp is correct. There is only one character meal available at the Castle (Cinderella's Royal Table) and it is breakfast. You can have breakfast w/Mickey and pals at the Contemporary (Chef Mickey's) which may appeal more to your DS than the princess themed breakfast. Also, you can do a character meal with Pooh and friends as well at MK (Crystal Palace). Have you checked out Deb's site (allearsnet.com)? Here's a link to the section about the character meals. It should answer most of your questions.

Hope this helps and have a magical day!

Will try to get Cinderella's roundtable breakfast this time. I know it is extremely hard to get reservations. ::yes::

We are going the first week in Dec. cant wait!!:hyper: :hyper:

Maybe your confusion was due to the fact that some people think that the "Crystal Palace" is the castle.... IT IS NOT! So don't set yourself or your kids up for a disappointment. As previous posters have mentioned, there is only one character meal in THE castle (the MK Icon), which is Cinderella's Royal Table bkfst. Difficult to get reservations, but lots of fun, especially for little girls. THere is also a place in the MK called the "Crystal Palace"... kind of a victorian glass building. They have three character meals a day there (B/L/D) with the Pooh characters. There is also Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort (three meals a day also) with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip, and Dale). You don't need park admission for that one. And there is the Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner (not sure about lunch) that has Minnie and friends, also in the MK. HTH.....................P

I agree with the confusion, I guess thats what I was originally thinking that the Crystal Palce was the castle. I still think the price is very steep. What about the food? I know seeing the smiles on my daughters face will be "PRICELESS", so why worry about the cost. Once again thanks to everyone for all the info.

In December of 2002 we did the breakfast w/Pooh and friends at Tony's (Crystal Palace was being refurbed - it looks beautiful now btw!). I thought the food was very good. The service was wonderful and we got plenty of one-on-one time with the characters. We had our twin 12-yr-old neices with us and they absolutely loved it. I think the price is higher than what you would pay outside the parks, but you are getting the character interaction as well, so it's worth it, IMO.

The food at the castle is so-so but you are really not paying for the food in this particular venue :)

Personally had a bad experience at Crystal Palace - but it seems to have been a fairly isolated incident.

Chef Mickey's is our family favorite - not inside the park - but just a quick Monorail ride away.

Donalds Breakfastasourus at Animal Kingdom is another one my family has enjoyed.

The breakfast at the Grand Floridian offers some different characters and is excellent - it too is just a quick monorail trip from the Magic Kingdom.

The only character breakfests that I have been at are Crystal Palace (at MK) and Donald's Breakfesaurus ( at AK). They were both very good.

We always do the CRT breakfast. My niece wouldn't leave WDW without going to it. I like the food there. The blueberry muffins were awesome. We enjoy it better then the one at Epcot. And your right about watching the faces of the little girls. It's great.

Also we sometimes do dinner too since the breakfast is just us girls. Everytime we have been there we have seen Cinderella and the fairygod mother. They usually seat down in the lobby of the castle and take turns signing autographs.

This next time we are going to dinner at 1900 park fare to see Cinderella

Even though it is very special for little girls to eat with the princesses, I really enjoy the breakfast at Crystal Palace much more. It is a buffet all you can eat and they even have special kids type foods. Each character will come to the table and if there is some reason they miss you the ones in charge make sure they come back or they will take you to them when the characters are in the other half of the restaurant.

Our 3 1/2 yo DD adores the characters so the character meals are a must for us each trip and for us they are very worth it. DD has eaten at CRT's three times and dresses up in her princess gown and slippers for this occasion. The pictures come out so cute!

Even though it thrills her to meet the princesses she adores the costumed characters even more. She hugs each one several times with a huge smile on her face! There hasn't been a character meal we haven't liked. We have done 'Ohana's, CM's, Cape May, Breakfastsauraus, & Pooh & Friends when it was at Tony's. As far as food and atmosphere DH & I really liked Cape May the best however they are all fun!

Enjoy!

We have not done either princess breakfast (MK's Cinderella's Royal table or Akershus in Epcot Norway) -- never planned our trips that far in advance to snag ressies. However, for character meals this is how I rank our faves:

1. Chef Mickey's Dinner -- Contemporary Resort -- great fun w/characters -- food is not but not outstanding... buffet style -- Noisy

2. Donald's Breakfastasaurus -- Animal Kingdom -- good character interaction... chances for multiple characters in pictures -- food was really good.

3. Crystal Palace... Magic Kingdom -(we did lunch)- cool and spacious, light and pretty inside. Plenty of room to step out and get good poses w/characters -- food selection fairly good and tasty... had the tye dye swirl bread to make sandwiches for the kids -- they loved that! didn't seem as noisy.

4. 1900 Park Fare -- Grand Floridian -- dinner. Liked this mostly b/c it was a chance to see Cinderella, Prince and Fairy Godmother along with the mice friends. Food was okay but nothing spectacular... noisy and crowded when we went.

We've also done Chef Mickey's for breakfast -- good food selection and Mickey Waffles are YUM!
