THis is the only thing I didn't think of and we are leaving tomorrow! Any creative ideas if it's too late to order a stroller cover?
Well I'm not going to stress bc if that's the only thing I didn't think of, I'm good!!
Thanks for any input or suggestions on last minute fixes for keeping baby/stroller dry!

I don't know if this will help you but I use an ECV when in Disney and I cover it with very large black plastic garbage bags - my scooter stays dry as a bone.:cool1:

We used a shower curtain from the dollar store last year. Worked great.

Edited to add: not while my son was in it! When it was parked outside of rides.

Never had to deal with that myself, but often saw people using an extra clear poncho. Seemed to fit over the strollers (at least the single ones) very well.
:thumbsup2

We've asked the maid at our resort for a big clear garbage bag when we've been in a pinch. It works great and it covered our umbrella stroller perfectly.

Just to clarify......This is to keep the stroller dry, while riding the rides.....not for when the baby is in the stroller. HaHa!

Not sure what you could do while baby is in stroller, I wouldn't want to take a chance with 'making do", but while in a ride and you just want a dry stroller...... How about buying a poncho at disney and using the binder clips to clip it in place. I'm not sure how heavy the plastic is or the age of your baby. An older baby might grab and tear the poncho. I'm just throwing an idea out there.

I'm sure others with chime in with much better ideas.

Have a wonderful trip.

Sandy, It seems you can type faster than I can think. When
I started to reply there were no comments, now there are a bunch.

If you go the poncho route, be sure to bring something to secure the poncho to your stroller or it will blow off in the wind. A previous poster mentioned binder clips, or clothespins, or something!

If I were you I'd just run to target or Walmart, they sell general stroller rain covers, and if that won't work, I'd buy one off Amazon or Diapers.com and have it shipped to your resort.

Dollar store shower curtains, then bring a box of binder clips to attach it to the stroller. We bring about 5 each trip and trash the ones we open.

Although, I don't recommend keeping the child in the stroller when it is covered in plastic.

Toys R Us and the like sell a standard stroller cover. Works great. They also carry some specialized ones, like jobbers, doubles, and ones just for Maclarens. I have the Maclaren and the universal and I like them both. Our store has them in stock at the store so you may be able to pick it up today.

Many moons ago (my DD is 17 now) we used the ponchos sold at Disney. Since they snap at the side we were able to keep it together without it blowing off (try and make sure the hood faces the back to keep the rain out). We had a regular stroller and the adult sized poncho seemed to fit great but YMMV. It even worked with her napping inside. Lol I think I may have pics of us using it somewhere. :)

Believe me, that kid was way drier than we were.

Just keep in mind if you have a child IN the stroller covered with any type of plastic, it will be like a sauna in the Florida humidity. I wouldn't want to be in there for any length of time.

My sister has used two cheap ponchos from Target, just had to be creative with tearing and tying them together. We left it parked while it rained for hours at the Magic Kingdom, and the toddler walked/was carried everywhere. The rain was so nice, and it's one of my favorite Disney days.

Are you renting the stroller, or bringing your own? If you are renting, I would HIGHLY recommend calling the rental company and seeing if you can add the stroller cover. If it's your own, I would HIGHLY recommend going to BRU (call first) to see if they have one. Stroller covers are SO MUCH better than ponchos. When we went last year, it poured buckets ALL day when we were at MK and we had forgotten the stroller cover in the car (which was way too far away to make it worth going back for). The stroller got completely drenched because none of the stroller parking is covered - NONE. It was kind of miserable, to be honest, and it's not something we will ever let happen again. I would think the shower curtain might work while you are on a ride, but when the kids are in the stroller, if it's really coming down, you'll want something. The stroller covers have zippers to keep the front open while still keeping everything else dry, so they are really perfect.

Shower curtain, scissors, and duct tape. Made a custom one to fit my stroller for less than $5. You can even splurge a little bit and get fancy duct tape ;)

We put on poncho over our single stroller when we parked it. Made it easier to find.

In the past, we've used rain ponchos. They usually worked, though there were a couple of times when it was hard to get it just right. Also, I quickly learned that though I spend the time to get it lined up just right - and tucked in so it doesn't blow away - my husband doesn't think that extra time is necessary. So, we're doing a shower curtain liner for this trip. I threw in a few clothespins in case it's windy, though the weight of it will help, as it's heavier than a poncho. We've done trips during the non-rainy seasons in the past, so a poncho got us by. I wasn't going to trust one for this time of year though! (I didn't go cheap dollar store, but I did do K-mart quality. We'll re-use it).

We went in 2009 during a tropical storm and ended up using the dollar store ponchos to cover out stroller, it took some practice but once you learn how to position it on there it worked great!
