What can I expect from Prime Time?

I made an ADR for lunch for myself and my 2 boys - ages 19 & 14. My 19 year old doesn't want to be "picked on" by the servers. What can we expect from this dining experience?

Our server was not up to much we had very little interaction. There was only one server in character and a very old woman who wouldn't allow pictures to be taken around her (very wierd).

I hope Prime Time isn't going downhill - we're planning to go in the summer again. We've eaten there twice in the past and it's been one of the highlights on my kids' trips. The food was never anything special but the the entertainment from the servers was worth the visit. We want my daughter's boyfriend to experience the fun this time around, so I hope the previous posts were rare occurances.

We had lunch there this past August. We had a great experience - it was just DH and I and, as such, our server wasn't really picking on us but he was fun. DH made a comment about how I shouldn't be allowed a dessert as I hadn't eaten all my entree. Quick as a flash, our server replied 'Nobody likes a tattle tale' :rotfl2: Put DH right in his place, it was so funny.

He also made the guy at the next table go and wash his hands when he returned from the bathroom but couldn't remember what colour the soap was :rotfl:

From what I could see, the servers were pretty good about picking up on vibes and seemed to dole out the fun pretty much where it was welcomed, if that makes sense.

Make sure your son eats all of his vegetables and keeps his elbows off the table and he'll probably be okay. If he doesn't eat the vegetables, they are probably going to say something to him although they might not yell it out for everyone to hear. Depends on the server.

We just went and I think it all depends on your server. I also never saw any server be mean spirited--just funny.
I could tell from everyone in our room, that there were a few people who were not as "into it" as others--and the server adjusted his attitude towards them and was much quieter.
I thought it was all hilarious and I loved it. I'd go again in a heartbeat. I had 4 green beans left and our server did the whole airplane thing--my daughter thought it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I'm all for a good natured ribbing but you know how teenagers can be.

I am looking forward to eating at PT and I promise to eat all of my veggies :lmao:

I would only go if you are seriously interested in the menu because that is the only guarantee. My mom took my 50 year old sister to Prime Time yesterday. (Sister has never been to Disney but my mom has eaten at Prime Time many times and wanted to take sister for the antics) Not one thing happened! Nothing! Not from a neighboring server or their own. My mom even tried to get things stirred up--but nothing! She was so disappointed in that aspect but did say the food was good. Just know--there are no guarantees!

Our 1st trip to 50's, DH had to get up and sing "I'm a Little Teapot" for having his elbows on the table - twice (had to sing once - elbows on the table twice). Another time, he had to stand in the corner for something. Our kids think it's hilarious!!!

I think alot of servers try to get a "feel" for the customers and if they have a sense of humor.

the servers always get a sense of who does and doesn't want to "play along" - my DH and I had a great time - he even wound up wearing a little mermaid bib!
