We have Loads of DVDs that we don't watch anymore. I went to a website like cash4books to try and "sell them" but MANY were only worth 10 cents!!! And it'd have to pay shipping so its not even worth it.
Never sold on ebay, I am afraid to lol.
What else can I do to make some cash with these old DVDs?

I had a lot of old ones too. Some where still wrapped in plastic. I was having a garage sale and sold them for $3.00 a piece. Yes, they did sell at that price. I also had vhs tapes I sold for $1.00 a piece. You could also sell the whole lot of them by placing an ad in your local paper or listing them on Craigs List.

Good Luck!

Ive sold them for 2.00 at garage sales and someone usually comes within the first hour and buys all I have and asks for more...

You can always donate them too. I am not sure, but I think the Ronald McDonald House may take them, as long as they aren't rated R ;) I know you can take them to Good Will....

I always take mine to McKay's used books in Knoxville. I usually get about a hundred dollars for a stack of books and DVDs. Maybe there's somewhere like that near you.

You can try moviestop too... it's like gamestop for movies. If you're still only getting a few cents and craig's list doesn't work, you could try finding some place that would benefit from the donation.
Are they kid/toddler movies that a day care center could use?
If they're adult action sort of movies, you can send them overseas to our troups. Many times, they can get a hold of playstations or dvd players, but it's up to the guys themselves to find movies and games. I have a friend in kuwait who asked me for some movies and games, since their selection was very minimal.

We've been selling CDs to secondspin.com. They reimburse media mail prices for the weight of the CDs they accept (not the weight of the packaging), which is nice.

anyway, they might have slightly different policies for DVDs, but it might be worth it to check out.

abundatrade.com also buys DVDs. We've also sold to them, but they don't reimburse shipping. I swear it's like advanced math to figure out the best value, b/c abundatrade has had higher values for the CDs, in some cases, than secondspin, but they don't reimburse, etc etc. :)

Either way, be sure you really look over your discs and make sure you have the inserts for the movies. You don't want to get your hopes up, but have a bad disc that they wont' accept.

I put out a huge rubbermaid tote of VHS tapes at a yard sale yesterday, $1 each or 3 for $2. More than 1/2 sold! What ever is left is being donated to the local library that sells them at their annual book sale.

Your local library may take them as a donation if they are in good condition.

You can sell them on Amazon and also Amazon has trade in for some, look up the DVD by UPC, and if they are accepting trade ins for that particular title, there will be a link under the "Sell yours here" button. They pay shipping.

I'm really big on donations! We have a group that is the Autistic Network, group homes for youth who have specail needs, and the shelter for Child Welfare. They all are so thankful for DVDs.!

Our public library has a pretty good DVD selection. Kid movies check out for free and others for a dollar a day. They accept donations and usually even have new releases available. You would even get a little tax credit.

You could swap them at swapadvd.com. There's also swapacd.com and paperbackswap.com. Love them all! I can get rid of my old ones and get new ones!!

I donated several boxes of CDs and DVDs to the friends of the local library and got a very nice tax deduction! A friend at work volunteers there and she was thrilled to take them off my hands.

I have a bunch of Disney movie VHS tapes...does anyone want VHS anymore? I suppose I'll post on Craig's List and see what happens.

you could donate them to a local hospital for the children's unit - offer them on freecycle - donate to a daycare, etc.

A little glue and some glass beads and you'll have nice shiny coasters for Christmas presents. :rolleyes1

Seriously though I would just donate them. If you have a rec department in town they would probably love them. Ours is always looking for movies to show on rainy days in the summer. :thumbsup2

i dont usually sell regular dvds because i find you dont get much but if you have any box sets you can try half.com, its owned by ebay but you set your own price and you dont have a time limit. I just sold a box set of Charles in Charge season 3 for $60(i know random) if you have the time you can see if any of your movies are going for a good price, there was a movie i was looking for and the cheapest i could find it was $18 used
