Hi, can you recommend what building to stay in at Port Orleans French Quarter? We are 2 families of 4, 4 adults and 4 teenagers. Would love to be not too far from bus stop, food court. Would really appreciate suggestions. Thanks!!

We just stayed in 5. It was very close to lobby and the buses. This resort so so small, it really doesn't matter.

I love this resort!

Beware of the movie noise in building 4 and 5.

I was in building 5, second floor right on the corner next to the staircase. Super close to the food court and buses.

When the movie was playing and I could hear it in my room. After the first few nights (really late flight getting in and only 4 hours of sleep), it stopped bothering me.

But if you are going to be in your room between 7-9pm, you may hear the movie (depending on where your room is).

I've stayed at POFQ numerous times, it's such a nice compact resort that I have never felt the need to request a specific building.

I just stayed in building 4, room 4127. That room is only about 10 steps from the food court...really, 10 steps. You get some noise there but not too much. It was worth the little bit of noise to be so close. In that part of bldg 4 we never heard the movie playing.

We loved this resort, so I really hope you enjoy it!! Honestly, we were one of the farthest buildings away from the food court area and it was still an easy couple minute walk. It's a small resort and doesn't take long to cross it, which was one of the reasons we loved it!!

Haha! I'm a step counting geek! the closest I've ever been to a food court is 65 steps in a preferred room at Pop. So to be 10 steps away would be a dream come true!!!! pixiedust: I would put up with some noise to be so close. :thumbsup2

Building 4 is great. Our standard view had a nice view of the courtyard, instead of straight parking lot.
None of the buildings are a long walk, but there is only a single bay of elevators in each one, so if elevator use is important to you, it may behoove you to request ground floor or close to the elevator. Otherwise, some backtracking may occur to make the walk longer.

We stayed in building 4 and were in the corner closest to the food court and it was close to the bus stop as well. Loved that location! :thumbsup2

We were in building 1 by the river. Far from everything, but because it is FQ, everything is still close!! Love the size of FQ. I would stay here again anytime even without requesting a room location.

We stayed in building 7, but even though I have some mobility issues, I loved it! It was quiet, close enough to everything to walk easily and also is the closest building to POR so my DD and I were able to take the boat there one night, and have a nice leisurely stroll back to our building later :)

I'm recently back from my 2nd stay at POFQ, and I'm just about convinced that there's really not a bad location there.

That said: 2013, I had a 3rd floor room in Building 5, in the "block" closest to the lobby/food court and it was great. Pass a few doors, go down the stairs, cut across the "street" and voila, food court! I was facing the movie lawn and was usually back in my room while the movies were playing, but the only time I was aware of the noise was the night they ran "The Incredibles" - lots of explosive sound effects in the climactic scenes. It wouldn't have woken me or kept me up, though.

2014, I had a ground floor room in Building 2, facing the pool area (which was blocked off for refurb, FWIW). This was really also a nice location, not far from the DTD boat dock. Even though it was farther from the food court & bus stop, it was still an easy, pleasant walk.

Do you want connecting rooms? (Or at least close to each other?) I'd make that my primary request, then add something like "convenient to food court and bus stop." I love POFQ and really think you can't go wrong there.

We've stayed in building 1 and found it to be a great location. We had a view of the courtyard and river and it was a simple 3 minute walk to the main building.
