what brand purse does you teen carry?

She has a large collection of fakes, but has a couple authentics- Coach and Prada. I will usually buy a JC Penny no name and use it for five years. I'm hoping she grows out of the obsession. It's a much too expensive hobby, at least for some people and she would be one of them. ;)

Kathy Van Zeeland

We got it for my dd when she turned 16. She is 18 now. We are not really into trends and she just likes the style.

The middle and high school girls in my town all seem to favor Vera Bradley, Coach, Juicy, LeSportsac and Harajuku.

My middle schooler has a couple of Harajuku, a lesportsac and uses a Vera Bradley tote to carry her books and laptop back and forth to school. She's not crazy about Coach (neither am I).

I just want to say, I hate fakes (they're illegal and as far as I'm concerned, stealing). There are so many great bags out there, if someone can't afford a real Vuitton, Coach, Dolce, etc. - don't look foolish and get a fake (it's glaringly obvious), buy another brand. I've also read the state department and interpol issued statements that say counterfeit bags help fund terrorist activities. :scared1: Seriously - is it worth it?

We live in a low income area, so I really don't know of many, if any, teens who carry expensive purses. DD just buys what she likes. Right now she's carrying a blue Aeropostale tote, but she'll soon get tired of that and want something else.

I have to say that I'm kind of surprised at the young people carrying Vera Bradley. In our area, it's mostly older female retirees who use them.

DD (18) has a bunch of purses. She usually gets them at DEB, Marshall's or TJ Maxx and doesn't pay much for them. Style is a big over the shoulder bag.

I did get her a Coach purse and wallet for Christmas that she's been drooling over, so after Christmas she'll be carrying a Coach!

My last purse was on sale a rue 21, I have two of the same purses (One black, one deep purple) from New York and Company. I found them at a thrift store $8 each.

I don't know if its because we have an outlet nearby or not but many of the girls here in the Lehigh Valley carry Coach, if they carry one at all. I think it is 'out' to be too girlie girl during the High School years because most girls do not carry anything at all. I see hundreds of girls at HS football games and at the mall all the time and their hands are always free. What I do notice that they like to have is nice, maybe even designer brand, cases/sheaths to enclose their phones, and hang cute girlie charms on their phones too, many designers have the charms- I know Coach does but so do stores like Claire's and Icing. But even after all that the nicely decorated phone is slid into their jeans, not a purse.

My 17 yr old carries Vera Bradley. And I must add only buys them on sale from the web site.

When my daughter was in 8th grade, all the girls got caught up in brand names and Coach and some knock offs were all the rage. It continued a bit through high school, but then I noticed that when she was a junior or senior, they just didn't care anymore.

Now that she's in college, she just buys some type of bag from Target or H&M or something like that. Totally not interested in brand name purses. It seems to be a younger-teen thing.

I do remember that Vera Bradley was really big in her high school but only with the girls on the dance team.

You know, once everyone kept saying Vera Bradley, I had to see what they looked like. I googled it and realized that one of them is the bag that is worn by a 79 year old NUN that i know!

DD-13 has a teeny colorful purse from Burlington Coat Factory - not sure if it's a brand name or not. Have seen a lot of Coach around here, but also generic.

American Eagle tote is what my 14 y.o. DD carries.
She has a vera bradley -but doesn't use it much anymore.
Teens do carry it here though

Most carry purses in our area.

I had to go and look them up too. My girls would hate that. I on the other hand think they are pretty cool.

So yea, I would say you would have to be a girlie-girl to sport a Vera Bradley, which my dd's are not.
