It's time to check in on our readers. I just finished "To Kill a Mockingbird" for the second time. It's still a great read.

I am now reading "The Big Why" by Michael Winter. It's a biographical novel about 20th-century American painter Rockwell Kent. However, it's not about art, it's about his and his family's life in Newfoundland in the early 20th century. So far, it's very enjoyable. :)

I finished No Place Like Home by Mary Higgins Clark earlier this week and am now reading The Lincoln Lawyer by Micheal Connelly.

Right now I am reading Cesar Milan's book, "Cesar's Way" about dogs and how Cesar came to be who he is.
He is surprising blunt in this book about his own life. Not the novel of the year but interesting.

I just started 'Improbable'. I can't recall the author but this is his first novel. I've only just started it, but so far it's very good.

Open House by Elizabeth Berg.

Has anyone ever read anything by her? She is such a easy read and I love her style.

i just finished Lightning by Dean Koontz. my third or fourth time reading that one. it's my favorite by him.
and i hope to get to the book store today to buy The Iliad. and since i have a hard time just buying one book, i will probably get something else too.

I just picked up "The End of Poverty" by economist Jeffrey Sachs at the library.

Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult (sp?)

Vegas, Lightning is my all time favorite Koontz book, too. I love it.

I'm reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.

A salty piece of land by Jimmy Buffet. Its ok. It's not something everyone would enjoy.

Mysterious Island for me by Jules Verne. I read whatever I find at garage sales and also the library. Maybe that is why my eyes are so bad, I love to read. :wave2:

I just finished that one the other day. I have to get to the bookstore, I don;t have anything to read right now except my magazines.

The Nanny Diaries....I'm loving it. Will likely finish it tonight. I've just started reading again this year, youngest kid started Kindergarten! I love seeing what others are reading to give me ideas. I've been out of the loop for a long time.

I'm reading two books at the moment: The Devil Wears Prada and Vanity Fair

The Nanny Diaries is a fun book. A film based upon the book will be coming out next year.

Just finished "The Forgotten Man" by Robert Crais a couple hours ago. Next up, "Miracle" by Danielle Steel.

I'm reading three at the moment:

The Mammy by Brendan O'Carroll
(1 of 4 books)

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire

Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholemew

I'm not as impressed with Wicked as I thought I'd be, but I'm not halfway through yet. The Mammy is so-so, but I love the Square Foot Gardener.

Anyone looking for a really good read full of adventure, romance, history should read These Is My Words by Nancy Turner. This book is based on the journal of the author's grandmother who traveled across the Arizona Plains. Just such a great book- couldn't put it down.
