What are your Restaurant Obsessions?

we have a local grilled cheese place here and they have a yummy sandwich called the cuban. it's inspired by the cuban sandwich but not exactly the same, served with their homemade pickles...SOOOO good.

I am also in love with this gelato place called Paciugo, their pineapple sorbet type in a waffle cone, Delicious!!

We have a little hole in the wall called Anthony's and the pasta and pizza is to die for. Also Famous Daves is really good! I like Texas Roadhouse for the fresh cut meat.

Pizza place on the corner gets the majority of our takeout business as well as the diner about a block away. I get the $2 bowl chicken noodle soup probably twice a week during the fall and winter.

I love smash fries from Smash Burger.
There is this greek place right across the theater I took classes at. I crave their food!

I'm not MIGrandma but just want to chime in to say we have a Bennigan's here in the Lansing area. :)

The Bennigan's off Grand River in East Lansing closed I thought. Waaaay back in the day when I went to MSU a friend of mine was a server there. Oh man, we were there way too much.

Is there a new one now?

My restaurant obsession is the Mexican Sushi (oxymoron, I know) at Crave. Oh my gosh, to die for!!

I live their edamame too. So good. And about the only time I eat healthy when dining out. ;)

My only food obsessions are Tex-Mex and sushi. As long as it's fresh & good, I'm in. I don't normally eat at any of the chain places--not that I don't like them, it's just not something we do.

A little trivia for you is that Mexican Sushi is not entirely an oxymoron! Our DDIL grew up in Mexico, and according to her, Sushi is a big thing there. Now, DS and DDIL live in Laredo, right on the border, and there are lots of Sushi restaurants there run by Mexicans. Seemed strange to me at first, driving through Laredo and seeing all the sushi restaurants.

not counting local places that know one heard of, I get on kicks where I am always going to Wendys for a chilly and Frosty

Have only eaten there once, but I still dream of Shula's steakhouse at the Dolphin. Hands down, best meal at WDW (including a bunch of signatures like V&A which I enjoyed as well).

For me it's the Thankful Turkey sub at Which Wich. It's turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on a sub roll and it's ssssoooo good!

We only have a few chain's that we go to "regularly". We tend to eat out less than once a month for dinners. Steak and Shake is always a hit here. Usually we end up at Red Robin though. For lunches we've been hitting up Newk's if I didn't pack a lunch for us. They make their pizzas in house and will make one with no sauce for DD.

Obsessed with? The boxties at McGuire's. Breaded and deep fried mashed potatoes served with 3 different sauces. Salsa, avocado ranch, and I think the third is a horseradish ranch. I've been trying to recreate that dish at home.

I love Chinese stuff in general. I know people might think it is gross but I like the buffets. It seems that different ones excel with different dishes. If I could piece together that stuff it would probably overload me :rotfl:

There's a place in Rockville, MD called Temari Cafe. I don't live in the area anymore, but I constantly think about and miss that place. Every time I am back in the area, I must go there. Specifically the Shouga Donburi...OMG...mmmmmm. I am obsessed.

My 2nd place food obsession is the Tacos Al Pastor at this place.

OMG I am soooo hungry now.

Temari has the best seasoned seaweed onigiri. Yummy. I'm also partial to the chicken livers. Maybe I will go there for lunch tomorrow.

I like Chinese and buffet - and love them together!

I agree with Moes! I craved Moes when I was pregnant with both my boys (something about the hot sauce!), and wouldn't you know it, both boys are obsessed with Moes! It is our go-to lunch place when we are out and about! :)

For chain food, 3 out of 4 in my family are hooked on the Havana Club sandwich at 54th Street Grill & Bar.

Also the Burnin Love burger at Red Robin

Locally, the El Dorado (basically a chicken chimichanga) at Los Cabos in Washington, MO.

The Lips Platter (boneless wings with salad & breadsticks) at Wings A Blazin in Hermann, MO.

The Fajita Steak at (sadly now closed) Lone Star in Harlingen, TX

The Dolmades at Spiros in St Louis

The Cashew Chicken special at Canton Inn in Springfield, MO

Also like Texas Roadhouse, but not quite obsessed. I've never seen the dancing waitresses. That must be interesting with all the peanut shells on the floor. :)

Edit: tried Moe's once and felt let down. Seemed inferior to Qdoba in every way :(

That one here in Okemos is now a Leo's. The one by the Lansing Mall is now Buffalo Wild Wings. Looks like the closest one is in Howell.
