What are your Restaurant Obsessions?

I ate Moe's frequently in high school and loved it. Didn't even know Qdoba existed at that point in my life. Have since become a regular at Qdoba and decided to try Moe's again because I had so many fond memories from high school. It was the biggest letdown ever :sad1: I couldn't believe how bad it was in comparison to Qdoba, I really did used to love it years ago. Sad!

If given my choice, I'll pick a seafood restaurant every time. I know a lot of people sneer at Red Lobster, but I like their fish selections. They regularly have a selection of trout, flounder, tilapia, mahi-mahi, salmon and occasionally catfish, all served with your choice of cooking method (fried, broiled, blackened, grilled) and different sauces. I could eat there every night for three weeks and not duplicate my meal.

If I'm going for shellfish, give me the steamed crabs at Captain Whoever Currently Owns The Site at Pope's Creek, MD. I grew up eating steamed crabs and I could pick one clean as a whistle at the age of three. My personal record is two dozen crabs (including claws, which DH usually steals from me).

Being far from Pope's Creek, I'm perfectly satisfied with Joe's Crab Shack.

And last, but by no means least, I LOVE Bobby Flay's hamburgers!

As someone said previously, the only thing I will order at Wendy's is chili and chocolate frosty Love Jimboy's tacos with their parm cheese on the corn tortillas

Mmmmmm....Jimboy's tacos! How I wish they had them in the Bay Area.

I obsess with Togos. I used to live on their tacos salads - with extra taco sauce, but ey were sadly discontinued so I am all over their sandwiches. Faves are turkey and avocado on wheat with extra peppers or a cold roast beef on white.

I'm guessing you don't want to know that I live within 5 miles of 3 Jimboys?

I'm hoping to head to the Sacramento area next weekend. I will be hitting Jimboy's for sure...:). Chicken tacos wand bean and cheese burritos - both smothered in salsa...yum!

The only food I crave that I cannot make at home is Pho.
I wouldn't say I'm obsessed, but I could go for a bowl right now, even though I had it last week.

I love Chinese buffets. Maybe not too many others do, but I just love 'em. Especially Hibachi Grill for the fabulous sushi bar.

I think Qdoba is a total letdown compared to Moes, and we actually have Qdoba here! I was in Orlando last week and we went to the Moes right off property for a meal. So good.

I will smack someone in the head for Texas Roadhouse rolls and steak lol.

For fast food, Chic fil a

My parents moved to San Diego when I was in college. An old high school friend introduced me to Roberto's Taco Shop. Their carne asada burritos and taquitos with guacamole are to die for good. I MUST go there to eat several times when I visit my parents!

Haha, so funny how different peoples tastes are! I definitely think it has something to do with the franchising as well...I really do remember the Moe's in my hometown being SO good in high school...I live in Nashville now and went to the one here and it was just really bad compared to our Qdoba. Everything was under seasoned, veggies were watery (? The peppers and onions. Very weird), and cold! Like...luke-warm food. I'm sure the quality varies by location because I was surprised at how disappointed I was.

I also live in Nashville and prefer Qdoba over Moe's any day!

There is a little local taco joint here called Taco Stand, I've been going to it for 36 years, since it opened. They now have 4 locations but the little hole in the wall original place is still my favorite. I stop by at least once a week for take out to take home. I live in a college town, the University of Georgia is here so it's always been manned by college students, usually the "townies". The owners were college students when they opened it.
I LOVE Athens! I have a kid at UGA and there are so many great restaurants there. Can't wait to try Hugh Acheson's places & some of the fabulous brunches around town. Just had to throw a plug in for your city.

LOL thanks, I'm actually one of the few people who live here who aren't really fond of the place. It's the disadvantage of having lived here for so long, I remember when it really was just a small town, we actually didn't have a mall when I moved here so there were department stores downtown where now there are nothing but bars. Our government has changed so the taxes are high but the benefits from them have gone down. I actually work in Athens but live out in the country closer to Jefferson and don't come into Athens, except for work.

We have one about 2 miles from the house, I never really cared for it there. But you will find plenty here.

Austin is a serious foodie town. So we tend to stick with local restaurants for both quick service and sit down restaurants. That being said........I could eat Chick-fil-a everyday of my life.
