What are your Memorial Day Plans?

For most of us Memorial Day kicks off the summer season with many heading to the shore, opening pools and all the fun summer stuff. As most of you know I had surgery 6 weeks ago today and am happy to say that I am doing pretty good.

I am having a nice bbq on Sunday, but have decided to keep it on the small side, as I am not up to having to many over. Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend at home! I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.

We are leaving for the shore Saturday morning until Monday. DD is bringing along a friend. I love Memorial day weekend at the shore.

not much - going to the new 16 theater at the garden state plaza to see pirates, maybe stop in border books, lunch at ruby tuesday....

Dh has to work all weekend, it is the busy season for our business and this weekend is the worst (or best lol) of it.

ds and I are going to go look for sneakers for my father, and then we are going to the movies and a stop at the inlaws for a visit.

Sunday ds and I will do yard work and get the patio furniture all cleaned up, and set and do a few yard things.

Monday- the parade goes by our house so after that, we will go and help clean up the cemetary, then out to lunch and home for the afternoon.

We will be putting up an new shed.

Then maybe visiting my parents, yesterday was my father's birthday.

Laundry, laundry, and more laundry.

With the 3-day weekend for me, I might actually complete the laundry by Sunday evening and actually have a day off without laundry.

Hopefully we'll be finishing up with painting the bathroom on Monday morning. Then, we're going to the pool to hang out for a while. It's too chilly to swim, but the kids mingle with their friends and play frisbee, Apples to Apples, Jr., etc. For dinner, we'll grill some burgers and hot dogs.

Last year we visited a cemetary on Memorial Day. We might do the same this year.

I remember the days when dd did travel soccer and we had the memorial day weekend tournaments. Good luck to her.

We are heading up to Maine for the weekend. I am just crossing my fingers that we don't end up sitting on the Maine turnpike for 5 hours tonight.

Today is my birthday!!! So we are heading to Kansas City this afternoon for a Royals game. You know they're having fireworks for my birthday . We thought we might stay until Sunday in KC, but my best friend from high school is driving down tonight from Iowa. She'll stay at her sister's tonight, then meet us for breakfast in the morning and come back to Manhattan for the rest of the weekend.

Not sure what we're going to do, but it's been awhile since we've just spent time together.

Then Saturday morning I'm going to the air show. Gotta support the people that are supporting me.

Sunday and Monday? No clue. Probably just rest and maybe bbq on Monday. Last year my birthday fell on Memorial Day so I celebrated my day off from work telling everyone we closed just for me. Not so lucky this year, so maybe I'll celebrate a day early. Two nights of cake isn't too much right??

Tomorrow we have a barbeque in Jeresy. Sunday dd is going on FIL boat to go fishing while I get to stay with my MIl .Monday dd has dancing school then we might have a barbeque at our house.

As for me, there's a theater here in DC that's one of those old-fashioned movie houses with a HUGE two-story screen and balcony seating. I'll be going there to see "Pirates"!

Other than that, I'll be putting in lots of miles on both my bike and skates, training for two events I have coming up later this summer. A friend is having a BBQ and pool party on Sunday. I might finally get a chance to set up my 10-gallon aquarium and my new photo printer and do some housework. Thank goodness I have Tuesday off as well! Although, there's a call for extras for a film on Tuesday. It's a low-budget one, so no pay, but I'd get breakfast and credit. Can't decide if I want to do that.

I will be working Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

But Monday DH and I are taking the camper over to Ludington for 4 nights, our first camping excursion for the summer.

We prefer waiting until AFTER the crazy-busy holiday weekend, and go camping when it's less busy and noisy.
