I am reading The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes. It is good, but quite long. :)

I finished reading "Split Second" by Alex Kava. Very good thriller/mystery! It was very fast reading, but kept me guessing!

Now, I'm reading "The Big Over Easy" by Jasper Fforde. I loved his Thursday Next books, so I was excited to try the Nursery Crime series. So far, I really love it! It's very tongue in cheek, and I love that kind of humor! Can't wait to see how the rest of the book is.

I finished Fragile Beasts by Tawni O'Dell. Really good book, much better than her Back Roads.

I'm starting Rush Home Road by Lori Lansens.

LOVED Rush Home Road!

I'm currently working through The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman. Expected to love it but really don't.

I finished Rapture in Death by JD Robb last night. Good as usual.

Now I've begun the 10th book in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

That looks like a good book. The author also has another book called Off the Wall: Death in Yosemite. I think I will add both to my list of books to buy.

The Yosemite book is on my list too. I'm sure it is just as good! :)

I enjoyed, Rapture in Death. I took a break from the JD Robb series, but I will be jumping back in soon!

After about 2 months of having it on my Kindle, I just finished The Outlander. I'd give it 3 stars. I guess I'm not crazy with Gabaldon's writing style. The premise of the story was fascinating and I really wanted to know more about the time traveling aspect. I suspect at least 25% of the story was spent on very detailed accounts of floggings and memories of childhood whippings. Gabaldon seems very into sadistic themes. Another 25% of the story was spent on sex. I'm no prude, but I don't need all that in my novels. I was like, hurry up and get the sex over with so I can see what happens!:rotfl: I do want to know what happens to the characters, but I don't think I could stand another 800 pages of that style again.

At least you finished it. I couldn't get past 200 pages. I had the exact same analysis as you. I bought it (full price which I rarely do) because of the time travel plot, but that ended up playing a small part in the story. I'm no prude either, but I didn't expect it to be an S/M bodice-ripper. I was rolling my eyes during some of the scenes and skipping pages.:sad2:

I just started "The Three Weismanns of Westport." I am in the mood for light beach reading. Finished "Playing for Pizza" which was forgettable. I am planning on picking up "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest" for my WDW trip next week!

I got a library card to my local library 2 weeks ago and I love it. (My college library's hours and selection are not too great in summer.)

So far I have read:
Before You Knew Kindness by Chris Bohjolian (one of my favorite authors)
Haunt Me Still by Jennifer Lee Carroll
I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe

and now I am reading The Wall by John Hersey (this one is actually for school but still a good book!)

LOVED Rush Home Road!

I'm currently working through The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman. Expected to love it but really don't.

I felt the same way about Zookeeper's Wife. It had great potential, but didn't live up to it, for me.

Just finished the nonfiction - The Big Short by Parker on the economic issues. I enjoyed it.

Been on an urban fantasy kick lately. Reading Embers, by Laura Bickle. Amazon recommended it, and I checked the first chapter on the Kindle and it seemed interesting. About an arson investigator in Detroit, who also happens to be a spirit-eating medium, with a Salamander sidekick.

Just finished reading Operation Sheba by Misty Evans. It was free at the Kindle Store by Amazon. I really enjoyed it - she has an engaging writing style:goodvibes:goodvibes Enough so that I downloaded the other 2 books in the series.

Currently I am reading The Help and really like it.:thumbsup2

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

I just started The Passage by Justin Cronin after reading a recommendation by Stephen King in the latest Entertainment Weekly. Love love love it so far...though it's scaring the bejessus out of me!
