The first few chapters were the best. It fell apart for me, after that, but I kept reading hoping he'd get back to the style of the beginning. Too pompous and pretentious for me.
UGH........don't tell me that. I could not get into the first few chapters AT ALL!

I just finished the last book of the Uglies series. I like the way the series began but it all kind of unraveled toward the end. Tally did a 180 and became a complete nut. I heard this series was optioned for a movie. I don't understand how that would work. :confused3

I just got finished reading The Hunger Games Trilogy. It was awesome. :thumbsup2
I saw a trailer today when I went to the movies and can't wait till it comes out!

I also was disappointed in the last book of the Uglies series. I could see it as a movie but not sure it would work.

I saw One For The Money today. Wonder if they'll do a second movie.....

I'm currently reading Mr. & Mrs. Anonymous by Fern Michaels.

I am currently reading Cutting For Stone. I'm over 100 pages in & I'm still not sure what to think of it. It's very, very wordy. Sometimes too wordy for me.

I get to a new chapter & think, "Ok, I'll give it one more chapter". I'm sure I'll finish the book, but it is taking me quite a while to really get in to it. I had it on my wish list & downloaded it to read after a friend told me it was one of the bet books she's every read. :confused3

I couldn't get into that book. Tried 2x:confused3

I just picked up The Night Circus from B&N. I was a bit sticker shocked paying $26 for a book! I'm taking a last minute trip to New Orleans next week and wanted something to read on the plane and this was recommended to me. I also bought a New Orleans travel guide so you can also consider that something I am currently reading, lol!

I haven't really sat down and enjoyed books like I used to for at least 5 years. I just stopped reading. I am hoping to get back into it! I can count on one hand the number of novels I've read since I graduated high school in 2007.

Hopefully I enjoy The Night Circus. I stopped reading because I always felt like most of the time I would start a new book, waste 5 or 6 hours trying to get into it, and then never finish it because I couldn't get into it. Did anyone else ever have this problem? I really hope this book is a page turner because I'm going to be traveling by myself next week and spending 20 hours in airports and on planes on my 2 flight days.

I enjoyed The Night Circus. Not my favorite book, but I enjoyed it. It has a long wait list at my library. My mom finally got it and, well, she pretty much hated it and couldn't get into it. So, if that happens to you, don't give up on reading. Everyone has different tastes and maybe you need to find the type of book that hooks you.

Not sure if I'm going to make it through Cutting For Stone. It is just not holding my interest.

These characters seem to be popping up & I have no idea who they are. I don't know if I'm not concentrating when I'm reading or they're being introduced in some subtle way that I just don't "get". :confused3

I've tried reading this twice now and couldn't get into it. It's still on my kindle so I am going to try it again sometime.

I'm probably one of the few people who enjoyed Cutting for Stone. It's been years since I read it but I think what I liked most about it was the very good character development of MANY characters and how it all turned out in the end.

It was a richly written book; however, I wouldn't call it a "gripping" story or a page turner. I also don't think that if you are a light reader, it's going to be something you can enjoy. As I said, I really liked the book but did not recommend it to most of my friends and I know they don't like slogging through books like that.

I put it on my "Try Again" shelf & started Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult last night.

Since I purchased my Kindle about a year ago, I SPEED through books. I've read several in the last week.

Currently reading Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy. I'll probably finish it tonight and then move onto Bleachers by John Grisham.

I just finished Trafficked by Sophie Hayes. It wasn't too bad. I finished it in about a day because I was so curious to what happened to her. Poor thing.

Don't know what I'll try next.:goodvibes

I'm reading The Perfect Christmas by Debbie Macomber. It's one of those laugh out loud kind of books.

I so agree, I have found this thread most helpful. 4's, let me know what you think about Miss Peregrine's Home For Pecuilar Children. It looks real interesting but "pecilar", even for me:rotfl:

I finished this last night and I can't say I was in love with it. It started out good enough but then in went in a different direction then I was expecting and that's where I started to not like it quite as much. To me it was almost like the author started one book and then partly through started a different one. If that makes any sense.
The other thing too is it has some pictures of photos and a few hand-written notes that were too hard to really see on the Kindle. Unfortunately the author didn't write the notes and letters within the book so if you can't read the picture you don't know what was said.

I'm now reading Stolen Innocence.

I had a feeling it wasn't going to be worth it. I guess I'm going to skip that one.

I am now reading The Handmaid's Tale. Yes, I know its old:rotfl: It's ok. Sometimes I am really in to it and other times I find my mind drifting.

I finished reading "The Clockwork Three" on the recommendation of my 12 year old son. It was ok, but not as spectacular as he thought it was. I felt that the author kept bringing new elements into the story, and then not explaining them. I'm holding off final judgement until I find out if it's going to be a series, or not.

Now, I'm reading "The Christmas Cookie Club." This is a light read, but hey, it was only 3 dollars (hardback) at Big Lots. DH, who knows I love to read, surprised me with it. It's fluff, but it's good for a cozy read by the fire.

After that, it's "The Dress Lodger." Can't wait!
