What are you getting your TWEEN DD for Christmas?

My kids (DD15 and DS12) love Full House. We vacationed in San Francisco last fall, so the fact that's where the show is set piqued their interest. It comes on Nick at Nite every weeknight, as many as 4 episodes a night. We've been watching and recording it for over a year now. I'd forgotten what a great show it was. My kids also got a kick out of the Jesse and the Rippers reunion concert on jimmy Fallon.

Yes, that is why my dh says that she does not need the dvd collection. My girls watch it almost every night on nick at night. It is $57 on amazon and comes in a house. We are going to vacation in San Fran next summer...hmmmm...

My DD's list keeps changing but here is what I got so far.

Samsung Galaxy S4
Red Converse shoes
Miss Me jeans
Call of Duty Ghost (ps3)
Giant Mike Wazowski doll (We always joke about the one eye bit)
Under Armor Heat gear Running shirt
Beat by Dre Solo Headphones
I got a few smaller items for her stocking and such also

My daughter turns 12 next month and is being more and more difficult to buy for. So far I have bought her an aeropostale hoody, t-shirt and 2 pairs of skinny jeans, hand painted jewelry wood boxes and I hit the earring clearance section of Claire's, a Northface coat, 2 pairs of knee high boots (black and tan), they were buy 1 get 1 free for black Friday, socks and legwarmers. Also picked up some doodads from baths and body works for her stocking.

All I have left to get her is an amazon gc for her kindle, that rainbow loom thing and her Santa gift which is adding her onto my cellphone plan and getting her a phone. Finally gave in as she wants an iPod for music and internet. A phone will do all of that plus make it easier with sports 5 nights a week between her and her 14 year old brother. Ugh.

Are your tweens into ever after high dolls? My dd who is 10 (5th grade) is somewhat interested. She never got into monster high dolls and hasn't played barbies in a long time, but likes the ever after high dolls especially the madeline hatter one. Don't know if I should get it or if she will not even play with it at all. Thoughts?

My dd9 liked barbie, but never really got into the other dolls. I honestly think it is because they rarely see commercials. Anyway, she has told me that while she doesn't really want barbies to play with(although her tune changed when I told her she could pretend she didn't like them at school), she likes the holiday ones for decoration. So, what I am saying in the most rambling way possible, is that I would get her one or two. She may not play with them as often as you would like to see, but I bet she displays them in her room and plays with them occasionally. I would hold on to that as long as I could.

These books were really popular at our fall bookfair, so that might have something to do with it. DD is about to be nine and hasn't mentioned the dolls, but she wasn't really interested in the books either (we're really into Harry Potter right now, so that's probably part of it.) Personally, I thought the dolls were a lot cuter than Monster High.

Well what my DD10 "wants" is

1. Bracelet making materials including beads and the rubber band ones
2. Clothes
3. A karaoke machine
4. Monster High and Fairy Tale High dolls (Ever After or whatever)
5. A bike

Sometimes she seems to like stuff on the younger side though.

Any idea where I can find a digital watch with a stop watch on it for my 11 year old? Very thin so need small strap.
My teen is getting one direction tickets. 11 year old doesn't like them but worry she is going to feel a bit upset if she doesn't get a really cool gift but she isn't obsessed with anything and hasn't asked for much at all (rc plane and a video game)

Are Tweens still into vera Bradley?

I think this can vary a LOT. I teach high school and DD is in 5th grade. I've seen lots of girls on both my campus and the elem school campus carrying Vera bags the last couple years so I thought they were in and started picking up a piece for DD here and there. She finally got up the courage to tell me that, while the 6th grade girls at her school are all very into Vera Bradley stuff, the girls in HER grade are not so much. Silly me. Who knew it varied that much from grade to grade?:confused3:goodvibes DD uses her bags but she definitely likes to switch them out for other styles. I had planned to get her some more Vera stuff for Christmas but changed my mind after our little talk.

What she is getting:
Ipad mini and a cover for it
A year's subscription to Webkinz
A season of Dr. Who
Lots of books (Warriors, Percy Jackson, Hunger Games)
A new game for her 3DS
An alarm clock
A new Auburn sweatshirt (If I can find one in her size.)

Her stocking will be pretty simple - probably a new booklight, an I-tunes gift card, a new keyring holder for her little bottles of hand gel from Bath and Bodyworks, a special Hunger Games edition of People magazine, and some candy.

Are Tweens still into vera Bradley?

My 12 year old dd has loved vb for a few years now, I got her an umbrella and slippers for her b-day.

For x-mas she is getting the following, some of which we are getting and some will come from relatives.

Floral doc martens
I-pad mini
Brave
Monsters U
Perks of being a wallflower
Under armour sweatshirt
Starbucks gc
I-tunes gc
1D perfume but I decided to get something cheaper (katy perry meow)
Vb headband and pony tail holder
Money from grandma to go shopping at forever21, pac sun, AE

She also wanted an i-phone 5 but she already has a samsung droid so that is not going to happen.

My DD will be 11 within the week and she loves Monster High, but now wants the Ever After High dolls and especially the Madeline Hatter doll. That said, she has a 23 year old sister who collects dolls and all things Alice. She and her friends are still "playing" with the dolls, though she never cared for Barbie, and we're having a Monster High birthday party next weekend.

For DD's 11th birthday on the 8th, she's getting the following (all but the Vera stuff will be used at her slumber party):

  • Vera Bradley Mickey Purse & Wallet
  • Nail Stuff
  • Games, maybe Apples to Apples? Suggestions?
  • Karaoke CDs
  • Dance Game

For Christmas she's getting:

  • Four Pack of Monster High Dolls
  • Rainbox Loom & "Tackle" Box
  • Minnetonka Fringed Boots
  • Re-furbished 32g 5th Generation iPod Touch
  • Stocking Stuffers - Lip gloss, make up to "play" with, iTunes card, books, more craft stuff

My almost 11 year DD is getting the following:

we moved in the last year and havent finished "doing" her room- so a few items will be presents:

new area rug
new comforter
new curtains

She asked for:
A TV for her room (got)
- we got her a blue ray with wifi (for netflix)- as I refuse to hook cable up in her room

- a bean bag chair(actually she wanted a yogibo, but they are WAY too pricy)

-hair dryer

- curling iron

- play make up (she is NOT allowed to wear it anywhere)

-loom refills, duck tape (for crafts), some earrings & underware

Other relatives are getting her Justice clothes

I know I went over board, and I did go over my intended budget, but Im fairly certain this is the last year she will believe. She also asked for the 5th gen itouch- but I told her only 1 big gift and the TV won (and she already has an 4th gen itouch)- and her bday is in Feb.

Are Tweens still into vera Bradley?

This made me laugh when I read it, I actually thought it was a joke! But after reading a few more posts I see it wasn't. I guess lots of people feel differently about those bags. Here the kids call them old lady bags and wouldn't be caught dead with them, they're not my taste either but my mother loves all the wild prints!!!!!

Both my daughters LOVE Vera Bradley. In fact, they, as well as my 6 teen/tween nieces are all getting VB cosmetic bags this Christmas, filled with a Bath and Body Works lotion and an EOS lip balm.

LOTS of the girls in the high school where I teach have VB totes or backpacks.

My Daughter is 9 - (Going on 10 in January) Her list consisted of mostly American Girl Items - I bought a few things for her (One is backordered till January so I hope I get it for Christmas - if not her birthday is the end of Jan), She also asked for a Microsoft Surface (we are not getting this), Uggs (She is getting from my Anut), gummy Bears (Yep she has them on her list), and the Bracelet making thingy (I am thinking its this rainbow thing you are all talking about :) ), and a puzzle of herself We got her some AG items - one outfit, many books (Reading and Activity), The Salon accessories Kit, The Wheelchair (she wanted it), and the School Locker (Backordered), Lots of art supplies (Paint, Paint Brushes, Markers, Crayons (She goes through these things crazy), A Shutterfly puzzle of her self (which I got free using my Coke rewards Points - SCORE), A ton of Clearanced one Direction items (Notebooks, Binders, Tape, Bracelets - These were clearanced for $1 each - SCORE), Bunch of fun duct tape, And I got her a custom made homemade quilt with her name on it and horse themed with pink and black zebra (I hope this is something she can keep forever). We are thinking of getting her an Ipad, Under Armor Sweatshirt, Wii Game?, Full House Boxed Set (She really wants this and I think I might have to snatch this up), and ???? We are doing a bit of a budget Christmas compared to normally.

I got my DD 11 the Full House boxed set in June. She LOVES it!

Apples to Apples is a great game and my DDs have been playing it a few years, usually with a group of adults at family gatherings. The only thing is I wonder if she is going to be playing with other kids mostly, if the Junior version would be better. The regular version has quite a few famous people and events that DD12 has no idea about, though she manages by just picking a card she likes! I don't know what age range the Junior version is suited for, but we have the tiny American Girl version and it didn't seem too childish.

DD12 also enjoys Bananagrams and Clue.

Here's what DD12 is getting so far:

Nerf Rebelle Bow and Arrow
Clock Radio - her's recently broke
Microphone and stand for her Karoke machine
Instyler
11.5" laptop (the computer she currently uses is 7 yrs old and ready to crash)
wireless mouse
AG hair styling things
My Style doll that looks like her (can use a curling iron on hair)
WII Disney Infinity
AG 2 outfits from cyber monday
2 $5 target gift card that I got with purchases
$25 Aero gift card from credit card rewards
Rudolph the red nose reindeer puzzle

Still need to get a surge protector for laptop, $10 google play card for her phone, maybe some makeup or nail polish to fill the stocking.

I have no ideas for boyfriends DD10.

She's not very girly. She's into Twilight & Hunger Games & zombies. She will be getting a tablet or laptop from her dad.

I don't have a set price range. I picked up a hoodie, Furby Boom, and the Wreck it journal.

I've been watching this thread for ideas for more of a main gift.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll take a look at the Junior version. Clue is a great idea too!
