What are you getting your TWEEN DD for Christmas?

:thumbsup2

There's only one Hunger Games. Now I'm not a parent, but my mom never censored my reading of books. I could hardly watch anything on tv/movies, and I only ended up reading maybe one issue of a magazine she ordered for me because the rest were "inappropriate", but with books I was allowed to read anything. In 5th grade we covered the Holocaust in our advanced reading group and the books we read for that were more disturbing than the Hunger Games, especially because they were true. I think if you think your child can handle it then they should read it. They're great books.

Someone mentioned Converse - the 30% off is not showing on the site, is there a coupon? Would love to get DD the Green Eggs & Ham :goodvibes

I did check other sites and Nordstrom has some Chuck Taylors on sale - got DD the "Party" style for $22.17 (40% off). They also have free shipping and returns, I hate to pay for shipping ;)

DD has autism and does not really go by trends, so far she is getting the Crayola Inspiration Art Case, Smurfs 2 dvd, Converse sneakers I just bought ;), keyboard, funky scissors and some small toys/candies etc in the stocking. I am thinking of that Lego dolphin set everyone is talking about - looks like something she might like!

For my 2 nieces I got them Wreck this Journals and will get them (a little) something else. One is into zebras and the other loves her Ipod so I am thinking zebra socks and an ITunes gc.

edit - just found a Monsters University movie poster I got a few weeks ago! I have seen some really artsy movie posters on etsy and some pretty cool ones on Ebay (not the regular style we see in the theaters).

I ordered my dd11 a sterling silver necklace with her name on it since her name is hard to find at stores, I also ordered organic body wash, lotion, and a lip/ cheek stain in a very light pink, a new case for her Ipad mini and that's it so far! I have a long way to go!

I have a 12 year old dd & a 14 year old dd. In both cases, I have had to remind & remind about lists for the past year so.... I've moved on!!!
What I have or plan to get for DD12:

Leopard print Sperry's - neither girl seems into Sperry's but these are so cute!
Some type of boots - combat or moto are what she usually likes
Clinique Chubby Sticks set from sephora
Sweaters
Cords - probably from gap kids as she wears slims
Something with My Little Pony on it...PJ's or socks??
Some type of "wow" gift. I have no clue
Catchphrase game
Vera Bradley blanket if they go on sale

My DD will be 11 in December. I had to Google rainbow looms too. It turns out she has a few bracelets already! Great idea on this thread!

I teach middle school, 8th grade and I have noticed lots of the girls wearing them. I knew what they were because of this thread.

I don't seem to be getting the email updates for this thread, so I guess I'll have to check back once in a while. Today I was out trying to find gifts or at least ideas. In my home we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, and this year Hanukkah starts the night before Thanksgiving. So, I'm freaking out. I try to get each girl something smallish for each night of Hanukkah, around $3-8, and maybe one bigger gift, then the rest is for Christmas. I have a DD who will be 13 in mid-January and a DD who will be 10 in mid-Feb. Today I thought of some stuff for the soon to be teenager: Infinity scarf to match the Ugg boots we found at Nordstrom Rack, nail polish, makeup kits, makeup brushes (a set would be nice), tech tip gloves (the kind you can use your iPod w/ them on), Keds; she wanted these floral ones that are impossible to find but I found some on JCpenney.com. If your girl is interested in Keds, be sure of her size because they run huge. Like a whole size too big, I would say. Uggs run a little big, but they only go full sizes. My DD wears a 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 and wore an 8 in the Uggs, and a 7 in the Keds. Oh yeah forgot about the awesome score I got yesterday, I was looking for a deal on a Seventeen magazine subscription. Totallytarget.com had a deal for yesterday only for 1 yr/$4.50 so I did 2 years. I think I will buy the issue on the newstand and put the gift subscription inside as a book mark.
Good luck, people. Give me some more ideas, TIA!:confused3

...nail polish, makeup kits, makeup brushes (a set would be nice), ...

I was at Marshalls yesterday and they had some nice nail polish sets (Orly,OPI) and sets of makeup brushes. Their prices on these types of things are usually pretty good. They also had tons of good brands of holiday candy.

THanks for the tip about the magazine.

I teach middle school, 8th grade and I have noticed lots of the girls wearing them. I knew what they were because of this thread.

I had no clue what they were either, but apparently my kids found a bag of the small elastics that I bought years ago to put DD's hair in tiny braids for a gymnastics meet and never used, and they are making them with 2 pencils as the "loom"! Even my 13 year old DS has been having fun doing this! I guess there's no point actually buying a rainbow loom now.

Oops, I guess I put my list in the wrong thread.

DD12 has a pretty small list this year.

Blue Beats Solo (will probably get)
iPhone 5 (not happening)
Nail polish rack (http://www.amazon.com/Bottles-Nail-P...il+polish+rack)
Amazon gift card
itunes card
Nail polish
Infinity scarves

She got a Kindle Fire a couple months ago and that is considered part of a Christmas gift.

DD LOVES to paint her nails/toes and switches out polish every couple days. She just got some nail dotting tools from Amazon for a couple dollars and loves them. http://www.amazon.com/World-Pride-Ma...+dotting+tools So dotting tools would be an idea for a girl that likes to paint her nails/toes.

Other than that, I'm stumped.

Oops, forgot to add she wants/will get the 1D perfume.

My Daughter is 9 - (Going on 10 in January) Her list consisted of mostly American Girl Items - I bought a few things for her (One is backordered till January so I hope I get it for Christmas - if not her birthday is the end of Jan), She also asked for a Microsoft Surface (we are not getting this), Uggs (She is getting from my Anut), gummy Bears (Yep she has them on her list), and the Bracelet making thingy (I am thinking its this rainbow thing you are all talking about :) ), and a puzzle of herself

We got her some AG items - one outfit, many books (Reading and Activity), The Salon accessories Kit, The Wheelchair (she wanted it), and the School Locker (Backordered), Lots of art supplies (Paint, Paint Brushes, Markers, Crayons (She goes through these things crazy), A Shutterfly puzzle of her self (which I got free using my Coke rewards Points - SCORE), A ton of Clearanced one Direction items (Notebooks, Binders, Tape, Bracelets - These were clearanced for $1 each - SCORE), Bunch of fun duct tape, And I got her a custom made homemade quilt with her name on it and horse themed with pink and black zebra (I hope this is something she can keep forever).

We are thinking of getting her an Ipad, Under Armor Sweatshirt, Wii Game?, Full House Boxed Set (She really wants this and I think I might have to snatch this up), and ???? We are doing a bit of a budget Christmas compared to normally.

Here's what we are getting for DD (10)...a few of these were on her list, the rest I've just come up with

-Fake Uggs boots
-A few outfits (jeggings and tops from Aeropostale and Justice)
-Bath & Body Works items
-a bedside organizer w/ place for phone charger
-Misc. One Direction items

Still plan to get a few smaller things- DVDs, etc.

Stocking stuffers and Advent fillers include:
-Nail polish set

-gloves
-Chap Stick
-Knock-off Taylor Swift Perfume
-Toe socks
-few jewelry items (some from links on this thread)
-new phone case
-phone prop-up stand
-shower sponge
-underwear

Her grandmother got her a Northface, which was on her list.

I posted in the teen thread before I saw this one. DD12 has just recently started giving me her list...it has been growing. I have been a bit out of control shopping online sales this year because I was on bed rest with my pregnancy and I didn't think I'd be able to go out shopping before Christmas. I swear we are a UPS depot - today was the first day in a week that we didn't get a UPS package. :faint:

Anyway, she is currently asking for:

1. Books - Heroes of Olympus series, The Fault in Our Stars
2. MacBook - probably not going to happen
3. Polaroid instant camera - no idea where THIS came from!
4. Tom's boots - we ordered them, but they were too small - probably won't be a Christmas present
5. Prismacolor pencils
6. Copic markers
7. Urban Decay neutral palette
8. Essie nail polish
9. Clothing - she has picked out several things from Aero and American Eagle

We have gotten her:

1. The Fault in Our Stars book
2. Heroes of Olympus series (by the Rick Riordan - the Percy Jackson author)
3. Camp Half-Blood shirt
4. Stuffed Rancor, Star Wars shirt, and Superman shirt from ThinkGeek
5. Essie fingernail polish and manicure essentials from Ulta - also got her a bag to put it all in - they also had an Urban Decay eye shadow palette for $10 that I picked up
6. Our Moment 1D perfume, shower gel, and lotion
7. Misc. clearance clothing from Aero and Delia's (and AE - got in on the sale this past weekend)
8. Coach wallet with gift cards/cash for girls day out after Christmas (from Coach Factory sale)
9. LeSportSac Kasey purse in Polynesian Paradise
10. My Little Pony t-shirts, leggings, and poster from We Love Fine
11. Underwear from Victoria's Secret (PINK) - she gets them once a year at Christmas - hope to use my Secret Rewards card to get her a nightgown from there (one that says "Angel" - that is what my mom calls her) :littleangel:

I'm watching ebay for a good deal on a starter set of Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers - may end up getting them from Amazon along with a new sketch book and a "how-to" book for the markers. Also thinking of a Bluetooth waterproof speaker so she can listen to her ipod in the shower, but depends on the price.

I know things she likes, but it is hard to pin down what she really wants. I might have to check out the Rainbow Loom...

My dd11 is still very into AG. I found a pink locker at a local toy store (made by girl talk I think) that looked even better than the AG one for only $20.

I'm also getting my DD (10) what other accessories are needed besides a case? Thanks : )

I would look at Michaels, joann or Hobby Lobby for the prismacolor pencils. You could use one of their 40 percent (or better!) coupons. This is my plan for my kids art supplies.

I am so stinkin' excited! My daughter had only ONE thing she REALLY wants for Christmas - the new IPOD Touch 5th Gen 32g. Now, we are in the process of paying off some heavy debt this year (we're doing GREAT!) so I have set a budget of about $300 per kid (we have 3). I explained to her that if she wanted the IPOD that was literally going to be almost her only present (maybe some inexpensive supplements) and she was ok with that.

Well, I've been SCOURING Craigslist literally multiple times daily for the last few weeks hoping to come across one....and FINALLY I found one today!

Literally in pristine condition, pink leopard case (exactly what she wanted - what are the odds?) for.....$200!!! My husband called immediately and met them tonight. He had to drive about 45 mins to get it, but I think it was worth it. :upsidedow It was a young couple at college - she bought the Ipod, and her parents bought her an Iphone almost immediately after so she claims to have only used the Ipod maybe twice. :goodvibes

I am soooo happy - she is going to do a serious happy dance on Christmas morning - I can't WAIT!!

:santa:

Minnie- no other accessories "needed." I just found a bundle, on ebay. Case (what I wanted) pkus a screen protector, stylus, car charger, wipe, etc. Nothing that was necessary, but it was only $13 for the bundle.

Well, except for UGGS I can steal your list! My daughter doesn't know what they are, or has just never asked.
