What are you getting your TWEEN DD for Christmas?

Apples to Apples is a great game!!! Our family & friends all enjoy this. We prefer the kids version... its not too "kiddish" just easier to play with a range of ages. The regular (adult) one has names of people not everyone would know. Politicians, older generation celebrities, etc.

Apples to Apples is a great game and my DDs have been playing it a few years, usually with a group of adults at family gatherings. The only thing is I wonder if she is going to be playing with other kids mostly, if the Junior version would be better. The regular version has quite a few famous people and events that DD12 has no idea about, though she manages by just picking a card she likes! I don't know what age range the Junior version is suited for, but we have the tiny American Girl version and it didn't seem too childish.

DD12 also enjoys Bananagrams and Clue.

:thumbsup2 I agree! We have game nights with family of all ages and they like the Apples--Junior best! We do have a lot of fun with both, but even the adults like the Junior better. :goodvibes

We got our DD 11 a ipod touch, refurbished from apple. She doesn't have a cell phone and wants something to be able to play games on, she has asked for it several times and won't ever see this coming.

She is also getting interested in hair and make up so she is getting her own hair dryer, straightening iron, make up, make up mirror, and a few little things like that.

I have no ideas for boyfriends DD10.

She's not very girly. She's into Twilight & Hunger Games & zombies. She will be getting a tablet or laptop from her dad.

I don't have a set price range. I picked up a hoodie, Furby Boom, and the Wreck it journal.

I've been watching this thread for ideas for more of a main gift.

Before DD11 finally clued us in to the ipod touch Hunger Games were about the only thing she was into. Books a Million has a bunch of cool hunger games swag (cool according to my DD, not me), she was interested in a desk/stationary set and a throw blanket they had, maybe a HG themed bag of stuff?

Good luck!

Maybe a Rainbow Loom? A subscription to a gaming magazine? Any sports teams she'd maybe like a sweatshirt from?

-What about an outfit- top and coordinating pants/jeggings/etc.

The only thing that came to mind for me was Bath and Body shower gel (always a big hit with my dd).

I used the 30% off one book coupon at amazon last weekend to get the Care and Keeping of You 2 book by AG. She wants the book but I'm kind of chuckling about giving her a book about your period as a present :rotfl:.

Okay guys, help me out. I'm really drawing a blank on something else for my stepdaughter. So far we're getting her a giant chocolate bar, 2 movies, a magazine subscription, a few random books and a Rue21 gift card. I'm looking for another $25ish gift. Her mom will probably spend over $1000 for her for Christmas so she really already has the ipad and the iphone and the uggs and the sperrys and a ton of other stuff she won't touch. I am hoping for something fun but really she just spends her time on her phone. Any ideas???

How about an iTunes gift card or a new phone case then?

I think I'm done. For DD12:
Tiger calendar
Q&A Journal
tiger striped rug
bunch of clothes from Delia's, Disney, JCP- the standout items will be a Jack Kelly from Newsies tee, and Union Jack hightops from Delia's
Miss Me jeans from eBay
London ornament
necklace hanger
galaxy nail decals
Hot Huez

with any Amazon GC she gets, she thinks she might buy a hair mannequin to do hairstyles on.

Maybe a fun board game as an alternative to her phone? Maybe something retro like a Polaroid?

Here's what I can't wait to give my 13 year old daughter:

I contacted a local beauty school. For $15 a girl, they'll run a class on how to apply makeup. (3 other moms at work are joining in, and we're letting each of the girls bring a friend. So the class will have 8 kids in it, all between 13 and 15.)

She's going to go nuts!

Now that's cool.

OK, we have an Ipod mini and case, Monopoly Tycoon(I think thats the name- the newish one out), 4 pr Nike track type pants, Nike socks, a Torrey Smith Jersey(Ravens), a Nike and an Under Armour hoodie, 4 pr pj's, $15 Itunes G/C, me and DH also got tickets for us to go see the Harlem Globetrotters the Saturday after Christmas. I also have some stocking stuffers that are Jack Skellington- I got on clearance after Halloween. She is a tomboy, so no girly stuff- very tough to pick stuff sometimes.

I lied. I was not done. I saw a super cool Beauty and the Beast sweatshirt on Hot Topic. They are having $1 shipping with $30 order, plus $15 Hot Cash with $30 order. I added a Maleficent purse mirror to my order for DD15 and total was $30.01 :)

How does the Hot Cash come? Does it come with the package? I haven't gotten an email yet, like Kohls does.

My nearly 12 year old dd is getting the following from us:

a new pair of uggs
slippers
a few pair of pjs
a new ipod dock/alarm clock
board games (game of life (fame edition, boggle, guess who mix n'match and modern family)
just dance 2014
pop mickey suitcase
iphone cover
initial jewelery tree
criss angel magic kit
wireless shower speaker
clothes
giftcard to get Miranda Sings merchandise at her show in January
Dunphy real estate t-shirt (think she likes Modern Family? lol)

Since Santa is still visiting her little brother (prob for the last year :sad1: ) he still brings for her too:

a science circuit board kit (her brother gets one too)
modern family seasons 1-3
modern family book
disney calendar
minnie tumbler
rainbow loom bands
connect 4 launchers
headphones
turbie twists
shower detangling brush
shower gels/body sprays
baby lips
hair chalk
hairstyles book
nail art kit
itunes card

No big ticket items this year--she wants a laptop but I think a family member is getting that for her. So lots of other 'stuff'.
