getting fastpasses for ToT or RNRC in late afternoon/evening on any given day in the summer?

I would say by 2-3pm and later you would have a VERY hard time getting one. If you want odds i would say 1 in 1,000. however I have heard that they will open up the FP machines during EMH's for new ones.

I agree, usually by 3 the FP's to the popular rides are gone. We have noticed this during times other than the summer as well.

I too agree with the OP'ers, its very difficult to obtain FP's late in the afternoon for those attractions. Good luck on what you decide.

We were there for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. At 12:30, husband got a FastPass for Rock N Roller Coaster for 3:30-4:30. At 3:15, we both got FastPasses for Twilight Zone for 4:05-5:05. I didn't check the Rock N Roller Coaster FastPass situation after the husband rode it at 3:30. And remember, it was during Star Wars Weekend as well.

If you have to choose which FP to get (both available when you get there, but you "know" they won't be when you can get another), get it for RnRC. The line for TZToT has more "atmosphere". If I'm stuck standing in one line or the other, I pick the TZToT line. The RnRC line is rather dull.
