Let me say that "cost' of a present NEVER plays into whether I will like or appreciate a gift. I am all about the thought behind the gift. ( that is one reason that I think many times gift cards are thoughtless.... though certainly some gift cards are not )... anyway, that is for another day... ;)

So, with that said....

Most thoughtful gift for me was tickets to see a Pink Floyd cover band called "The Machine"..... given to me by my wife, who hates PF, but knows that they are my favorite band ever.

Least thoughtful..... a remote control holder ( organizer ) for my living room. I use a Harmony remote that controls EVERYTHING from this one remote ( DVD, RCVR, Cable Box, VCR, TV, DVD Burner, and CD player )... not from my wife... :) Oh, and yes, the person who gave it to me knows that I only use this one remote.

best gift this year- new ARMY clothes!

worst ever- from my mother- a 2 liter or diet pepsi
(i drink ONLY DR PEPPER, have for a looong time!)

Most ~ I would have to say my hot-air popcorn popper from my parents! I have been wanting one for a long time.

Least ~ The box of "see spray" from Amway (or whatever it is called now) from my MIL.

DH received a Lego mini loader from his assistant at work. He was envy of the other guys at his office. FWIW, their company sells attachments for skid loaders, and this was the coolest thing gift ever exchanged at their offices. While this was a really cool thing, for under $10, the effect was priceless. DH came home, put it together, and will be taking it back to his office.

My DH gave me a spa certificate. (Did his research, not only on local spa's, but also took their advice on how much the certificate should be valued at.) All I can say is I was SHOCKED at this gift. DH has never done anything like this for me, and we've been married for almost 17 years. I will have a hard time trying to decide if I should use the certificate up at one time with multiple services, or if I should "spread out" the money, and go for less services, but go several times. Decisions, Decisions.

No dud presents this year. NONE!

Most thoughtful: My son handed me this huge red bag. I opened it and saw it was a Build-A-Bear box. I was a little confused, and as I opened the box I said, "You made me a bear?" I looked inside and got very excited, "You made me a CHICAGO bear!" He even named it "Jimmy Mac!" He knows I'm a huge Bears fan and that, back in the day, I adored Jim McMahon!

Least thoughtful: My DH got me a little receipt book. When I mentioned it, he said "No it's a book for saving recipes." I pointed out that it said receipts, thinking maybe he had gotten it mixed up with something else. Oh well, at least he was thinking of me...I guess.

Best: My new HP book(I collect the hardbacks of the series) and season 1 of Veronica Mars

No duds!

NO least thoughtful....most thoughtful: My DH finally got the hint (maybe the For Better or For Worse Sunday comic about women and tools made a difference).....a RETICULATING SAW!!!!! Have already used it.....I am woman, hear me SAW! (and yes, the kids think I have lost it!)

Not happy this year - Dh had asked me what I wanted while we were watching tv. A jewelry commercial came on and I hinted at a circle necklace. He waited till Friday to shop. Well, got a frying pan-basically for him, space saver bags, candles - have 13 already and a very small bracelet made for a child. He does not have a clue!!!! I may return everything tomorrow.

Then we go to my mothers and she gives me this gaudy necklace - she states its all the rage. Its a choker and I can't stand chokers. Have it on but it came from QVC - no way of returning it.

What is up this year. At least the kids were happy.

I got no duds. DH gave me a gorgeous silver ring, some candles, and a beautiful black silk turtleneck sweater, but my most favorite present of all was from my oldest son. He gave me this really neat Harry Potter clue book called "What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Falls in Love and How Will the Adventure Finally End?". Very thoughtful of him since he knows I love Harry Potter and love speculating how it will end. So does he, so his motives were not completely selfless. :p

Love all my gifts this year! I think all of us did, it was a good year.

Most thoughtful? new bathroom and slippers from my friend. She always gives me something personal.
From DH? Lots of Disney dollars and gift cards. Love them and know he spent alot of money! However they arent personal

Lots of thoughtful gifts this year! Not a dud in the bunch!

DH bought me a new skillet and some cooling racks that I've been hinting for all year long.

My favorite gift is from my DS. He bought me a fondue pot shaped like a Hershey's kiss. He and I saw it last year and I mentioned that I wanted it. He remembered all year long, and made sure it was under the tree for me. Guess what we're having for New Year's Eve?

Most thoughtful: iPod and a laptop from my boyfriend...both things I have wanted for a really, really long time. :)

Least thoughtful: Wow, I honestly can't think of anything. Everyone was very thoughtful this year. :)

Oh, I just remembered! I have to tell you about the least thoughtful gift ever! My sister and her ex had been married almost a year. She spent months making and tailoring a 3 piece suit for him, plus getting him several other things he wanted. Christmas morning, she has 1 gift from him under the tree....a roll of Amway tinfoil!

The most thoughtful had to be from my DD, her DH and their DS. My DD bought a plain navy blue shirt and had her DS put his little handprints in special paint and put them on the shirt. He will be 2 in February. And it is "signed" as well, "Love, Colby." And she took a picture of him while he was putting his hand prints on the shirt, and put it in a frame for me. It's just so sweet! I cried! I LOVE stuff like that!!

Didn't really get a "least thoughtful" gift - except maybe for the "L" necklace/pin set my DH bought for me. My name is Yvonne so begins with a "Y", but they didn't have "Y" so he got the initial for our last name. ;)

But he did well with other gifts including the "St. Elsewhere" Season One DVD, the Clue DVD game, and a beautiful tanzanite/diamond ring so I sure can't complain!! :santa:

Most thoughtful...things for baby coming next month!! Believe me, everyone asked me or my mom what I wanted/needed for xmas and I said..I don't need anything for me, I need babythings.

Unthoughtful...DFIL's girlfriend got some cordial glasses & chocolate. Granted I have only met her once, before going over there yesterday. But when we were there, we had a lengthly discussion about how I do not drink. She kept trying to push a drink on me (this was probably about 1 year ago)...and she even asked DH about it, as if I was lying about how I don't drink. And of course, being 8 months pregnant....and not to mention she doesn't know if I plan on nursing or not. I think I just got a kick out of the alcohol glasses for the pregnant one. Chocolate...no biggie...can deal with that one.

Glad I'm not the only one disappointed! I mean, I'm not disappointed and pouting or anything, but just going "huh?" at the choices. DH took DD shopping for me and came home with Covergirl makeup for me in colors I don't wear. And I also don't care for Covergirl (I did 20 years ago, but not now :rotfl2:). Also, a purple tie-dyed tee shirt with Jim Morrison on the front. EEK! It's a size too small fortunately. :P And then finally, a watch that doesn't fit. It's a nice-looking watch, but just too tight. I don't like anything binding on me (wouldn't wear chokers either), and the band is one of the stretchy kind. I prefer a loose bracelet fit.

The good thing is, we'll have a really nice day going out and returning the stuff and using the gift card he got me to Borders -- which was the most thoughtful gift I got!

We also had a very lovely day today. :cloud9:

Most thoughtful gift...... Everything my family gave me was thoughtful :)A close friend of mine gave me a huge bag full of little gifts, topped off with the big white stuffed Mickey from TDS :) The least thoughtful gift was from the woman I work with- a tiny calender with the price still on it, stuck in a gift bag she stapled shut ( whatever :) )

the most thoughtful? a framed, copy of the U2 song "In God's Country" signed by the boys!!!!!!! man was I surprised when I opened that....

no real duds, a few things that had me scratching my head a bit.....this sudoku game that plays on your tv....

I am happy to say that I feel all of our family's gifts were thoughtful this year. I really can't think of anything being unthoughful. I guess I am really lucky!
