What are the best things to eat at Jiko

Hands down, the Oak Grilled Filet with red wine sauce and macaroni and cheese. Heaven! DH loved his short rib there, too.

Mmmmmmm--I second the filet--and also an appetizer sampler which is not on the menu but which they did for us in Feb when we couldn't decide. I think it cost the same as ordering all four appetizers, but it sure looked and tasted good!

I'm a vegetarian and it is paradise for me.

The "taste of africa" is so good - 3 different dips that are so good with the fantastic breads.

The vegetarian entree is out of this world but we like the appetizers so much we usually just get a bunch of those. We like the maize and sweet potato tamales and the lentil pastillas in particular.

The wine list is amazing - all African wines.

This is rapidly becoming our favorite place for dinner.

wow I can't wait! We hardly ever go to these places at disney but I think i've got all the other disney stuff I want so there's going to be a lot more eating going on this time

I love the kalamata olive flatbread, the maize-crusted fish with vegetables of the moment, and the cheese plate. The taste of Africa is really good also.

If you're looking for something more interesting than the standard Disney filet offering the lamb shank (if still on the menu), scallops, and halibut are very good...I thought the short ribs were just ok.

Shocker...another vote for the filet. Simply lovely! The olive flat bread is great, but the best dessert is the Pistachio Creme Brulee. It is soooo good!!

Another vote here for the fillet. The sauce is to die for. And the macaroni and cheese is simply amazing. The flatbreads are uniformly delicious.

Just wondering if anyone requested a vegetarian menu at Jiko.
I do not eat fish, chicken, beef or pork and was wondering if the chef would have to prepare something special.

My favorite meal so far at Jiko is there Barbacue chicken Flatbread for starters and Lamb Shank for my entree.

FTR--the shank is off the menu and replaced with Wood-fired Lamb Loin- with Berbere Spiced Lentils, Baby Carrots, and Lemon Infused Demi Glace

I've eaten at Jiko several times and sampled most of the menu and I believe the chantarelle soup with pumpkin seeds is by far the best thing there.

I've never asked for a vegetarian menu because there are lots of vegetarian things on the regular one.

We're not vegan - don't know if you are - so there are lots of choices.

I loved the maize crusted halibut, the sauce was gorgeous. I also really loved the tikka tuna tartare, it was honestly one of the best appetisers I've ever had but I don't think it's on the current menu.
