@ getting a Grand Villa OKW @ 7 months out in October....

I would say there's a decent shot at it...October isn't exactly a crowd-heavy time of the year and OKW isn't exactly a crowd-heavy resort. I know it's point value makes it more appealing of a Grand Villa than any other DVC resort, but as long as you book as soon as you can, I think you can get it.

When is the last time you were there in October? It's an extremely popular time for DVC members with Food & Wine and the Halloween parties going on.

If the OP is looking for a full week, I'd guess it wouldn't happen. A day here or there, yes, but not a full week.

OP, book your home resort to make sure you have something.

My home resort is BCV and for 2011, I called at the 7 month mark for the last week of October and got 4 nights in a Grand Villa. I had my choice of SSR, OKW and AKV.

I only wanted 4 nights because we were doing a split stay, ending at BCV, so I don't know what the chances would have been for more nights. I was surprised to get the 4 nights without waitlisting and to have a choice of resorts.

i have SSR booked for a 2 BR...but will love the GV for more room since there is 8 of us..i will also try a 2BR OKW...i just hope for lots and lots of pixie dust for this is my husband, my 1.5 year old, my 2 step daughters 11 & 7 and my sisters boyfriends 1st time...i think they will all fall in love with GV...

The OKW two bedroom villa will be a lot larger than the SSR two bedroom villa. Plus it will have the sleeper chair in the living room. So if you can't get the GV, the two bedroom should work out great.

At 6.5 months out (2 weeks inside of 7 months) last year I was able to book a GV at AKV Kidani for 4 nights. This was over Veterans Day weekend, the last weekend of F&W and the end of Jersey week. OKW, SSR, both AKV's were available for up to 8 nights according to my notes. Even BWV (shockingly) had availability 3 of the 4 nights.

At the 7 month mark, I think you will get it.
