What are families traditions while at Disney?

The first night we are there we always eat at the Liberty tree,

and the first morning we're there we eat breakfast at Crystal Palace.

First Ride to ride with family is PoC

Great thread!

We always ride the monorail loop at night, just for fun...

We are the last to leave MK when it's open late, getting ice cream cookie sandwiches as we wait for crowds to thin....

Always do at least ONE character meal...

We always do the older, "cheesier" - lol - attractions, no matter what is new and exciting - Muppets, Jungle Cruise, Small World!
That's all that pops into my head at the moment...I'm enjoying this thread!

We have several.....

We always eat at CP our first meal...whether it's B,L or D....my oldest dd is an Eeyore nut! We always have a Mickey Bar as our snack during the parade, we always visit MK first, we always end our trip with hit dogs at Casey's (oldest dd's name). Now that youngest dd is 6 & has been 3 times, we've got a few for her as well....we always buy a balloon on the first night, have b-fast at the castle our last morning.

We can't hit the parks the first day since we are always too tired from driving through the night. So we make reservations for Chef Mickeys on our first night and then go check out the hotel after dinner to hang around and check it out.

Always go to MGM on first day to see Fantasmic

Always have Funnel Cake while watching MK parade

Always leave Wishes till the last full day, that way it's the last thing you remember before home the next day

Always have a character meal

Oh, and since last year always do the Hoop-Dee-Doo!

We have a silhouette of my DS made and add it to the collection when we get home. My DSis takes pictures of her family wearing hats from the different countries in WS, and this last trip, had one taken with a CM from each country. I'm going to adopt these, as well, for our Dec06 trip.

Our first stop is MK and we always ride the train first. Last Sept. we were on the platform to board the train and a woman came up to me and asked me if I'd been to DL the previous May (which I had). We had been on the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour together. Imagine 2 people from 2 different parts of the country meeting up like this. We rode the train together and it was a great way to start our vacation. :cheer2:

We always stop and have a strawberry swirl. Last trip in 2004 the Enchanted Grove was closed! I guess we will have to make up for that this trip.

Strangley, ours is not actually at Disney, it is on the ride there. We drive from Va. and we all LOVE to read the South of the Border signs!! I would be lost without doing that first ha ha.

Chef Mickey's on our arrival night is a must for us. Nothing like meeting the Big Cheese to get the Magic started :wizard:

We always go to the pool on the first afternoon, have a mickey bar, then go to Epcot and eat at Le Cellier for dinner then watch illuminations

We always go to the MK the first day there. Cinderella's Golden Carousel is always are first ride.

Wow, that's incredible. What are the chances of that? Amazing :sunny:

We always used to do a complete circle around the kingdom starting from adventureland on the jungle cruise and finishing by riding the timekeeper. This is how its been since we started going but because the disney have decided to get rid of the timekeeper this tradition is now ruined! :furious: :furious: I guess we'll just have to ride monsters inc in the 'monstropolis' centre :sad2: god that sounds awful :furious:

Lets see there are a few

1. Eat at WCC with Bobby Joe as waiter
2. Eat at Beaches and Cream
3. Ride Buzz lightyear and try to beat dear Zurgie's score (never happens)
4. Play millionaire and get into the hot seat...try to see how many people in the family can get in the hotseat in one trip....our average is 4 we have had as many as 5 of us.
5.Go Visit Dave Rippberger and Issac, who are animators at the Animation gallery and Animation Academy at MGM

We arrive late afternnon and enjoy our first dip in the pool!!!! :cool1: And the kids get ride into pin trading around the resort!

Other Must do's include:

1st day at MK w/ 1st ride Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh to jump start the magic! Lunch at CP - we love the salmon.....having a guaranteed sitdown meal in a nice a/c restaurant to regroup, and of course, the chars are fun too!

Fantasmic!!!!!! :wizard:

At least one b'fast or dinner at CMs! usually mid trip during a day away from the parks.

We too like to watch Spectro & Wishes on our last night too. This next trip we're leaving on a Wed morning out of nec. and I don't think it will be possible. That will be strange.

Get penny press book first day.
Character breakfast for breakfast.
Watching parade first day.
Wake up call from character.
:cheer2: :cheer2:   :yay: :yay:

:sunny: First dinner and last breakfast at Chef Mickey's, with a breakast at Crystal Palace and dinner at 1900 Park Fare thrown in. My DD's (and us) love to see the characters during a few of our meals.

We have one or two "must-do's". One is that we HAVE to have a Mickey bar immediately after we ride Small World for the first time every trip. That tradition started during our very first family trip, when a favorite aunt snuck some $$ in a card prior to our trip. IASW is her absolute favorite ride, and her instructions were that we had to use the $$ to have a Mickey bar after riding. That tradition stuck, and now do it every trip...usually raising our "Mickeys" in toast to her every time! :mickeybar :mickeybar

We will usually go to MK first and ride Space Mountain just because we all love that ride and it gets us into that "Disney mood" I think you all know what I mean :rotfl2:
