What a disaster!!

I have the Nikon d40. It does have manual mode!
Your shots are so beautiful I showed my fiance yesterday and he said I better learn! lol

Great Update...I loved your shots of WL and Wishes. :cool1:

I have never taken a tripod with me. I have gotten a couple of shots at night that have made me happy(a couple are in the TR that is linked at the bottom of my siggie) but for the most part they are somewhat blurry. I just can't imagine hauling it around. I suppose that makes me lazy or not committed to the task of clear, sharp shots.:confused3 Do they make a really light/compact one that would fit in a backpack? I have two tripods but they are huge and heavy. Also they are several years old so they have probably came along way in making them lighter weight and compact.:) suggestions?

BTW, do you feel like the photography guru?:hippie:

Thanks again and keep on writingpopcorn::

Love this TR!! And I love pictures with the Fisheye lens! They are my fav!! Hope you have more fisheye lens pics!! :yay:

TopDog--- I have been reading from the start--- and enjoying every bit as 1) I love disney, 2) love the wilderness lodge and 3) love photography
and I also love how adults get to enjoy disney without kids- people think I go to disney for my kids, they just get to tag along with ME\

anyway, the challenges of photographing that darn WL lobby has troubled me for years- different years, good cameras, different lenses (nothing on the scale of yours--- makes me drool your stuff does)... so I feel better that you the master has trouble-- though I think the shots you posted most recently (after the dinner at the wave night) are terrific shots.

Another great update as usuall. Awesome photos! I have a confession to make. Don't tell anyone.....This summer I'm shooting Wishes with a 20 year old SLR, cable release and :scared1: film!

What happened???

I went to work. Came back and watch American Idol & Hell Kichen. Found out my TR turn into a fan club gathering? :p LOL...

You guys and gals are making me blush.

D40 is an excellent camera. I almost bought one too. Set your ISO some where betwen 125 to 200 for night shot. Keep practice before your trip and "feel" the camera. Do I sound like Mr. Miyagi?

My Wally World special tripod is extremely light. It's is made out of aluminum. I tied a strap to it and carry it on my back when I need it. I don't even know it was back there most of the time. I am sure you can found a light and decent one from your local Wally World. Mine was made by Vivitar.

Heavy weight tripod do have its' advantage. It's solid and it doesn't get knock down easily. With my light weight tripod, I have to constantly worry about people next to me might knock it down.

Thank you for reading. I am sure I still have a few more fisheye lens pictures to share.

I am still waiting for the long story. ;)

Thank you for reading my TR. I love watching how kids enjoy Disney. For some reason, maybe because of my height, kids love to talk to me out of the blue. Perhaps they find me very animated or goofy, one way or the other. I do have a picture of me and goofy back from 95 (Non digital era). I will see if I can find it and scan it. All my friend thought we look a like.:rolleyes1

WL lobby is definitely very challenging to shoot. Wait until you see my next WL photo session. I am not sure I am the master but I do like to solve problem like that. Some of my WL outdoor shot are equally challenging. You will see them eventually. So stay tune.

I rush home to turn on the laptop to :surfweb:!!!

Thanks GB. I am still trying to catch up your TR but you write fast and my surf time is very limit. I will catch up eventually.

Shooting with film is a great thing. If it wasn't my old Nikon FM is dying, I would give that a shot too. (Pun intended.) If you are shooting Wishes with film, may I suggest to tried the Polaroid High Def 400 ISO. I had very good result with that film. Kodak film is a little too yellow for my taste. Fuji film is a little more warmth so it had a more red tint. Great for portrait.

Since you all like my pictures so much, I am opening my private vault for you. This is my personal non Disney picture I often share to the world for the past 4 years. Let me know what you think either here or leave comment on my site.

Awesome TR topdog and incredible photos (kind of makes me want to go back to my old film SLR -- haven't splurged for a digital one yet).

Just curious if you went on Splash Mountain -- is the Happy Place song you mentioned early in your TR on that ride? -- although I guess that's actually Laughing Place for Bre'r Rabbit.

Thanks for including us in your trip -- tomorrow night I'm looking forward to checking out your gallery. Thanks!

So what is it that you do for a living? I'm pretty sure you could follow celebrities around and sell their pics for big bucks!:thumbsup2
:rotfl2:

Seriously, you could really make some money from your hobby-photography!:wizard:

Love the airshow pictures. Hope you make a gallery of Disney pictures too!

Thanks for sharing the vault! Add me to the fan club. :worship:

The best part is he has NEVER been on vacation with me and the 4 crazies so he has NO idea what he is in for.
POST SOME MORE PICS!!! It is making my wait go by faster!!! :rotfl:

Love your trip report! Love the pictures of the parks, hotels, and especially the food! Your pictures are amazing! :thumbsup2
