What’s the advantage of staying on property now?

We have a resorts-only trip planned for late July (we alternate every year between a resort-only vs resort+parks) and we're working out ways to try to make it work... we looked at other alternative trips and we still end up with a reduced Dis trip being the best choice.

On the other hand, we have relatives who are planning a resorts+parks trip in early Aug (BWI) and are watching very closely the prioritization of park rez. Their opinion is that resort guests (esp deluxe) should get priority over AP holders.

Monday 6/22, park reservations open for resort guests with valid tickets.
Like ALL? or to a date? they are being really vague with this system adn im getting anxiety thinking if i miss the date my trip will be lackluster not getting the jump on park reservations

My understanding is that if you have valid park tickets AND a resort reservation, you are able to book park reservations on Monday, 6/22 at 7 AM and it will be like the FP+ and dining systems. First come, first served.

We rarely go to parks. We like the ambiance of the Disney resorts. And we Are DVC and use points so it’s a no brainer. A couple years ago we decided to go last minute to Orlando over thanksgiving. We couldn’t get DVC so we did a timeshare only about a mile from DS. We only went to DW for a day. And even went to universal for a day. The condo was very nice, spacious, lovely pool etc. my husband hated it and vowed never to go to DW area unless we stayed at one of our DVc resorts. When we go to Disney we spend our time at the pool, drive around to visit other hotels, go out to eat every night to great restaurants.

The pressure... in March we were late arriving so our first day was now our last. (Disney was so great to us). In this new world i would just lost the day. Have they said what passholders can do? We have family in FL and they are suppose to come with us.
