What’s Open at the Fort - COVID Updates

Is this still the state of what is opened and closed?

Yes it is. I follow several Fort related Facebook groups and no changes to anything in that list. The only thing I did modify is that movies are on different nights. Please see the bus stops or comfort stations for the current activities calendar.

You can also visit the official Disney Experience Update page for Fort Wilderness for current information.

To your other question, yes. Masks are no longer required while riding bikes, walking, riding golf carts except while in crowded areas such as the Meadows, Settlement, or Outpost. Masks are still required while in any indoor facility.

Don’t get your hopes up yet, but I’m hearing rumors on other Fort groups that cast members from Hoop-Dee-Doo are being recalled. I normally don’t post rumors but I know we could all use a little hope so figured I’d share.

**Edit** as an update, I'm reading from other forums that they are being deployed to other locations, not HDDR. While it's not the news we wanted, at least they are starting to call folks back and open some stuff up so it's a good sign we're headed in the right direction.

This needs to sort itself out ASAP! I'm 3 days from making ADRs for my summer trip

The need to bring back the boat rentals how much more distance can you get! Time to get back to normal
It’s less about that and more about they don’t want to bring more cast members back than they have to until they go back to higher capacity.

Or maybe they're bringing them back so they are "staged" and can just do a lateral transfer when the time comes?

Hate to say it, but they're probably going to have to wait until they're comfortable doing full capacity at HDDR; the cost of putting on dinner shows with multiple performers has a much higher labor cost basis than the food side of it and there are minimal labor savings running at reduced capacity.
