We've FALLen for WDW...An October 2010 PTR! New 10/14 TR Link Added

TFS your first trip pictures! I remember using disposable cameras--it seems like ages ago. :rotfl: Though, I have to admit, we still used a film camera (a nice one tough) on our first trip to Disney and a basic digital camera (one of the first Sony ones) too but we had such a small memory card.

Seeing everyone's amazing pictures on here really makes me want a better camera than my compact digital-but since we don't really have any extra $$ right now-I'll make do...I guess! I think that's what I'll be asking the in-laws for this Christmas.

I had no idea you had a pre-trip report going. So I apologize for being late to the party, but I'm here now and am enjoying all that you've posted so far. :woohoo::woohoo:

:scared1: You didn't know?! Haha...I guess that's okay. :rotfl: Welcome! I am glad to have you reading.

We have two digital cameras right now only because I got one from my in-laws for the holidays (which I asked for since they go on sale so reasonable). I really like both we have but neither are a DSLR. I have a step down from it since I cannot change lenses but can do many of the similar shooting modes. The other I got for Christmas is what I call a pocket camera, I wanted something small I can throw in a pocket or my purse so I can keep one with me.

One of these days I want to splurge for a DSLR, I highly doubt that would happen before we go to Disney though. :upsidedow

DH and I each have our own digital, which actually comes in handy on our trips, as when we come home we can share our pictures and relive the vacation through each of our "eyes". :)

Before I write my mini TR on my 2006 trip, I thought I would share some pictures with you. :)

This is our almost 1 year old kitten Fredi. It is a female tabby cat. We decided before we chose a kitten what his/her name would be. Hence the male name for a female cat. We do spell it quite femininely though. :)

This is her "I'm innocent" look.

I actually took this picture this afternoon. She was laying all cute on her blanket and when she saw the camera she meowed and turned like this. Drama queen??? :rotfl2:

000_0005.jpg

We love her, however, we do not love that it has become habit for her to wake us up in the wee hours of the morning by reaching her paws between the headboard and mattress to scratch at our pillows! We've had to "lock" her out of the room the past few days and she now cries instead. :confused3

I also wanted to share with you pictures from my recent decorating.

I just love it! :cloud9:

Lastly, here is a picture of the "trail mix" I put together today. It is M&Ms, Mini-Marshmallows, and Peanuts. It is AMAZING. You have to try it. The flavors together are delcious! :)

I hope you all had a great weekend and are spending your Sunday evening relaxing like I am! Friday evening we went to visit my brother who was recovering from surgery in the hospital (he fell playing basketball earlier in the week and really messed up his shin bone). Saturday I had a dentist appt. and then since we were in the area of my in-laws we went to spend the day with them. :) We went to an indoor go-kart track for his brother's birthday. This was NOT for kids! We had to wear a helmet and neck brace and these little karts went up to 40MPH. Needless to say, I was scarrrrrrrrrred! :scared1: I did pretty well and even beat DH one race. :lmao:

Next up: A look back to my 2006 trip.

Taking it Back: A Look into my Christmas Time 2006 Trip!

AllStarSports.jpg

I went on this trip with DDad, DStepmom, DAunt, and 3 little DB's. We went during the 3rd week in December. It was also my first time on a plane! No wonder I am still afraid to fly, I was already 19.

We had a very early flight out, about 6am and we had to be at the airport at 430 or so. My DDad lives nearly an hour and a half from the airport we were flying out of. Do you know what that translates to? A 230am transportation arrival. :sad2: We had a layover in DC, so we didn't get to MCO until around 1pm. We were all spent.

We had beautiful weather this trip, it feel like summer but without the extreme humidity.

However, once we got to our resort, we changed and headed over to MK. Well, all of us except for one DB, he decided sleep was more important, so we left him to sleep in the resort.

MagicKingdom.jpg

Our second day was spent at AK. Well, some of it.

This is my little middle DB with DDad at RFC in AK.

I feel it important here to include this story. The DB in the picture above and I slept in the same bed the first night. I awoke the next morning to find him in the bathroom getting sick. Needless to say, I was worried I was going to get sick, too! He spent the morning and early afternoon in bed. My DDad did NOT want the rest of us to leave them and go to the parks (apparently, he wasn't missing out on ANY fun) so we went down to the pool for a couple of hours. However, we started to get antsy and went to check on them and DB was wanting to go to the parks! So, we got ourselves ready and off we went!

We rode EE right after lunch with sick DB who had just eaten some lunch. Guess what? He had to run off the ride when it was done and get sick. But, he still kept going! Oh Disney, you are magical. :lmao: Did I mention this was the night MK was open until 1am and we stayed until it closed??? Such a trooper!

This is DB. I said I was going to show this picture to his first girlfriend. I just tagged him in it on FB. (he has a serious GF now). :rotfl2: I wasn't lying.

KennyPrincess.jpg

This is youngest DB and me sporting our Disney themed headgear. He's not much of a smiler for pictures, you really have to catch him off guard. For our wedding, I had to tell him I would give him a $1 for every picture he smiled in. I didn't, but it worked! :lmao: Younger brothers are so gullible!

This is DHS, when it was still named MGM. I was a little upset this day. I was missing DH (then DBF) and I was kinda feeling left out of the group. My DStepmom and I do not get along when together for long periods of time and it was starting to wear on the both of us and she knows just what she has to do to make me look like the bad one. :sad2: I also didn't ride RNRC b/c I was afraid I would not fit because of my weight. Yeah. I fit this past trip and I am heavier now. Oh well, live and learn.

MGM.jpg

This is DB, the one who was sick. It must have been exhaustion or dehydration or something b/c nobody else got sick on this trip and he was back to normal by the end of that same day. We are eating at Ghirardelli. :lovestruc

Ghirardelli.jpg

This is me and 2 DB's at Epcot. We did not spend much time here, maybe 1/2 day. We did walk through WS but quickly, I don't even remember stopping in any of the shops!

Epcot.jpg

Yes, my DDad did purchase this hat. He even wore it to work one day after the trip.

ChristmasHats.jpg

Does anyone know if this structure is still put up in WS for Christmastime, or anytime for that matter? I don't recall seeing it on DH and I's trip this past December. It was really neat! The lights flashed in time to the music that was playing.

WorldShowcase-1.jpg

This is DB's and I on our last night in WDW at MK. This picture was taken at the perfect moment, right when Goofy started to laugh! My parents didn't spend most evenings with us as they decided to head back and sleep right after dinner. My DDad is early to bed and early to rise. One morning he decided it wasn't that far of a walk to the McDonald's from our resort (AS-Sports) so he went early and got us breakfast. Man, he was in a BAD mood when he got back. Apparently, it was farther than it looked. Poor, DDad.

Goofy.jpg

I was able to experience a lot more of the Disney magic this trip than last, or at least that's how it felt. I am just glad that I didn't know the madness that was ADR making this trip because my OCD planning skills would have kicked in and made everyone on the trip with me go mad! My DDad did try to make a few reservations but was never able to. We ate at RFC twice to have a sit down place, the rest were CS. It wasn't bad. I didn't know what I was missing.

The trip home was stressful. Our flight was delayed about 3-4 hours because of fog in Chicago. I was upset because I wanted to see DH (remember, DBF back then) when we got home because we had 2 days to spend together only before we spent Christmas with our own families and he left for Mexico the day after Christmas. That was when my DDad said, "You guys are going to get married." Yes, DDad, you were right! :lovestruc We had some "awesome" turbulence on our ride home. :sad2: The smoothest flights I have had were during our honeymoon, but I guess that's what we get for traveling in December.

I have our Disneymoon mini TR and December 2009 mini TR to write and then I will finally reveal when I fell in love with Disney World!

DISigning

This morning I brought down my scrapbooking materials to begin making a "Make Your Own" Honeymoon album for my DBIL and his DF as a wedding shower gift. I have been intrigued by the mousekeeping envelopes as of late and being that I enjoy being creative I decided to make my own "envelope".

Here is what I came up with:

000_0021.jpg

Here is a close-up of Mickey's hand that I used to write what the Thank You was for:

000_0023.jpg

I used the Mickey & Friends cartridge to make the Mickey head and hand. I used the Mickey Font cartridge to make the letters. I also used the George & Basic Shapes cartridge to make the circle. My original idea was to make a smaller and larger Mickey head and glue them together, leaving a space open like I did with the design above. However, when I "cut" them out, the heads were not lining up correctly. I already have other ideas floating around in my head to include other characters. The great part is that it took me about 10 minutes to make, gluing on the letters individually was the most time consuming part!

Looks like you had a great time on your Christmas trip in 2006! :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the thank you's. :thumbsup2

Wow! I love those mousekeeping thank you's! I actually like the circle background better than I think I'd like the second mickey head. I like how sleek and simple the whole thing looks. I bet this is one the Mousekeepers will keep!

I really did enjoy that trip! I was looking at my albums on FB that I created after the trip and almost every caption has !!!!! after it.

I'm glad you like it! :flower3: I am very happy with the "envelope". I know I still have quite a ways before the trip, but I was just playing around and that is what I came up with. I can't wait to make more!

Thanks! The two Mickey heads together just didn't look as nice. Even if they don't keep them it wouldn't make me sad because they were so simple to make!

I followed the link in your signature, and just caught up on your PTR... there was a lot I wanted to comment on, but it's old news now!
I read the Hidden Magic book and really liked it! I also think I'll be bringing it to the parks with me, or at least making a list of things I want to check out.

I hope you get free dining, in reading your ADR list it does seem to me that the DxDP would be the way to go for you- especially with the Food and Wine Festival, that was a good point! Your food choices look wonderful and delicious! We checked out the signature restaurant menus but couldn't see anything that made us want to use 2 credits. If we were doing the DxDP, it'd be a whole different story. Though I do love California Grill.

Love the 'thank you' envelope! So cute!

Just had to check out your mousekeeping envelope design. Very cute. I am a rubber stamper and papercrafter and have designed my own envelopes for the last 2 trips. Our mousekeeper at WL made a point to tell me that she really enjoyed them and was sharing them with her mother. Thanks for reminding me it's time to start thinking about designs for this trip. I see you will be at WDW the week before us. Hope you have a great trip!!

Wow!! Your mousekeeping envelope is amazing!! I have the Disney font cartridge, but I don't think I have the one you used for the Mickey head and the hand... I'll have to double check. I think any mousekeeper would love to find one of those waiting for them. :thumbsup2

I was thinking that I might not want to carry the book around with me all day, so I'll probably type up a sheet in Word for each park and bring it with me instead.

I feel like the DxDP would be the way to go as well. I'm so stumped right now b/c I want to be at MK for Wishes one night, I would like to be able to visit F&W twice (once to try a lot, the second time to get our favorites), and I would like to hit up DTD twice (once for browsing and the other for purchasing). We'll see what I end up with.

Thanks for the comment about the envelopes! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :) I may get adventurous and leave a different one for each day. We'll see. That is so neat about the mousekeeper acknowledging your hard work! It's hard for me to think that I still have the rest of Spring and the entire Summer before we leave, but I know it will go by quickly!

Thanks!!! I have the Mickey & Friends cartridge as well, that is where I used the Mickey hand. I think both cartridges have the Mickey head, but I could be wrong! I really hope they like them! :)

Cute mousekeeping envelopes! :)

Thank you! :)

Wow, those envelopes are really cute! Very creative. :thumbsup2

Loving the recaps :thumbsup2 and those envelopes are really cool :)

Does anyone have a website they can give me to create new tickers? Apparently the site I was using is having problems. I tried to go back to it to fix my tickers and a warning popped up that my computer may be harmed if I visit the site!

Home Decoration

So, I know I mentioned early in my PTR that I was painting our guest bathroom. DH and I finally got around to hanging the toilet paper holder and towel bar (we have had difficulty with those in the past-we usually end up arguing). It actually went pretty smoothly except for a few things. We are both so used to having our Dad's take care of the "handy" things that we are pretty much useless when it comes to doing things around the house. ANYWAY....

Here are the BEFORE pictures:

I'm guessing the previous owner was attempting an African/Animal theme, it just didn't work for me. Taking that border off was so HARD. I used really hot water and vinegar but it still came off in pretty tiny pieces! UGH! I also didn't like that there wasn't anywhere to put decorations and I had to put everything on the counter and it just looked cluttered.

Here are the AFTER pictures: (The only thing missing are some word signs that I am going to make and put up sometime soon!)

The color is "cornflower blue". I was worried that it looked purple, but I really like it now. I brought in the dark brown and cream colors for a dramatic effect. I had purchased a nicer space saver (the shelf above the toilet) but it was the cheapest piece of furniture EVER. Poor DH spent 4 hours one night trying to put it together and we ended up just pitching it. This one isn't as nice-but it still looks nice and saved us money by not going to get a more expensive one again! I'm so happy with the way it turned out!
