We've FALLen for WDW...An October 2010 PTR! New 10/14 TR Link Added

I saw your title regarding the DISigning envelops and had to check it out. I love them! Great job!

The one downside to staying at a DVC property is that we don't get mousekeeping. I will really miss it...the kids would have loved doing these envelops everyday.

I also love your b&w photos...is that bakery photo one that you took? I love it! I assume this isn't from WDW - I don't recognize it. Hmmmm.....maybe I can do something similar from WDW. DH would not allow decorating from the Parks in our house, but maybe something subtle like that he wouldn't even notice!:rotfl:

Thanks for posting these awesome ideas!:goodvibes

We almost thought about renting DVC points for our stay but decided against it b/c I was worried about getting trip insurance and such.

I hope you come back to read this because the bakery picture IS from Disney!!!!! It is the outside of the Boulangerie Patisserie. :) The other pictures are just photos I found on the internet and converted to black & white! My decorating style doesn't really lend itself to having things from the parks but I was being creative and came up with that idea. :lovestruc I love it!

The bathroom looks great! :thumbsup2 I love the color. We need to repaint our older bathroom... I'll have to remember that color.

I'm using an Enchanted ticker this year. It is counting down until we leave for Florida. I also have the second one from MickeyPath that is counting down to our first park day.

Does anyone have a website they can give me to create new tickers? Apparently the site I was using is having problems. I tried to go back to it to fix my tickers and a warning popped up that my computer may be harmed if I visit the site!
There is a post over on the Technical Support section about the tickers. There is a virus issue with them.

I love the new bathroom! It looks so much more crisp and clean!

Wow the bathroom looks great, good job :thumbsup2

I love that African border though is defo a bit of me. But not for a bathroom :)

Thanks for the info about the ticker. I have seen that a lot of people on the DIS have no tickers anymore b/c of this issue! You are so close to your trip! I can't wait for our trip, but at the same time I can because I'm nearly positive we won't be taking a trip in 2011. :sad2:

Thanks, I think I am just going to use a different website. I am frustrated because in my searches for my tickers, I came across a different website that had Disney tickers as well but I didn't bookmark it. :headache:

I do think the bathroom looks more crisp as well, thank you!

I agree, not for a bathroom. My foyer area (when you walk in the door) has a natural earthy theme as does our livingroom but I don't like border and I certainly didn't want elephants in the bathroom! :) I think I may pick up something from animal kingdom to put in our livingroom this trip. I want to try to get a great picture of the tree that I can make black & white to put in our livingroom as well!

Ooh that would be nice, you can get some great shots of that tree :thumbsup2

Disboards is soft-releasing their new tickers http://distickers.com/ticker/

But mine seem a little messed up.

YAY!!! October hours for my dates are posted!!! :) Just thought I would share as I have been very impatiently waiting for them to be released! :)

Yay for the hours :yay: Am so excited and happy. Now we can start planning properly :thumbsup2

Love the bathroom! Cornflower blue was always one of my favorite crayon colors :rotfl: So good choice!
Was the bathroom your first home improvement project? It must feel good to have it accomplished!

How excited that October hours are out! Have fun planning tonight!

It was one of my favorite crayon colors too! :) No, it wasn't our first home improvement project. We painted almost every other room in the house with the exception of our laundry room and livingroom. Our first big remodeling is in process right now, our built in entertainment center/fireplace. :thumbsup2

I'm just about to start my planning now. Beauty & The Beast just started. :lovestruc

I see you have a PTR now, I'm going to check it out!
I do. I had a TR from 2008 that I abandoned, which I have now incorporated into this PTR. It makes it kind of fun and more dynamic, plus it builds energy (in me) as I gear up for the next trip. I hope you'll join in. My readers are pretty quiet right now. (Rightfully so, they have had some bad news coming at them, it seems.) :(

Hope you enjoyed BatB and got some planning done :thumbsup2

I definitely got planning done! I am very happy with my choices for the most part. I am hoping to get a post up soon to get opinions. I am particularly having trouble with what meals to have on our DHS day. We'll see maybe I can get one done before I pick up the girls from school or maybe when I get home before my friend comes over for pizza and New Moon. :) Tomorrow is Beauty & The Beast. I am just so excited!!!! I hope you have a great weekend. :) Don't let DF play on that PS3 all day Sunday! :) I know if DH had the time he would be on his Wii ALL DAY EVERY DAY! :rotfl2:

I saw you on DisMomAmy's PTR so I thought I would come over and read. Your Mousekeeping envelopes are ADORABLE. I just love him. The bathroom color is so pretty. I can't wait to see what other crafty things you come up with.

I post here and on another Disney site called Enchanted, we have tickers as well. I made 95% of them. They are Google Safe Browsing safe. You can go here to look at them.

They have changed the format around again and am trying to find things all over again on it :rotfl:. I finally found the hours, thanks so much for saying something about them!

I recall seeing you on Amy's PTR, you and your DH are the sweet ones who sent her boys some pins! :)

Thanks so much for sharing the info about enchanted tickers! :) They look awesome, I am going to use one! :thumbsup2

I know, it took quite a bit of clicking to find the hours and I still don't know how I found them! :lmao:

I am going to check out your PTR!

BUDGETING

Note: FEEL FREE TO PASS THIS BY IF YOU DON"T WANT TO READ SOMETHING SEMI-OFF TOPIC!!!

DH and I are on a very strict budget and have been since I quit my higher paying job and took my babysitting job. I was thinking about our trips and such that are coming up and how much money we need to save for them. This is what I have come up with:

First Anniversary:

We get a one-night hotel stay at the hotel we had our reception in that was included in our package. This includes dinner in their on-site restaurant and brunch the next morning. I need to call them this week to see how we go about reserving a room.

DH's Uncle is giving us tickets for a baseball game to go on our anniversary. We would only need money for the "El", Parking, and Food/Drinks at the game.
That's around $100 at most.

We almost have enough debit card points saved up to get $125 in gift cards for Ruth's Chris, so that is an option for dinner on our actual anniversary. However, we go there a couple times of year with DH's family to celebrate birthdays. I really want to go to the Signature Room at the top of the John Hancock building as that is where we got engaged. I know that we can use our debit card points towards cash or a Visa gift card-but it would be more points for less $$. :confused3

DH and I won't be exchanging monetary gifts for our anniversary. I want us to write letters to each other, although I can't speak for DH on if he will like this idea. I still would write him a letter, though. I just think this will be more heartfelt. :lovestruc

Vegas:

Our trip will be paid in full. Ideally we will have around $1500 for spending. We have about $1000 put away now. That means between now and mid-June we need to save $500. I'm not even sure that's doable but I am going to try my hardest to make sure that happens. If it doesn't I will decrease my daily gambling budget (right now I'm giving us each $100/day) but let DH keep his.

The $1500 plays out like this:

$600 Gambling (3 days @ $100/day per person)

$500 Food (I'm guessing we'll eat 2 meals a day-one fast food and one sit down.)

$50 Baggage Fee (It's $25 for one bag each way. :scared1: We will use one suitcase to put both our clothes in and pack a rolling carry-on as well as a carry-on bag to optimize space.)

$150 Show (I would like to see one show while we are there. I'm debating between Penn & Teller and a Cirque show.)

$200 Shopping (B/C Who are we kidding, I need to get my shopping fix in!)

Disney:

This trip will be paid for in full as well.

I was originally planning $750 for spending money which would go towards OOP TS/Snacks, Food & Wine Festival, Gratuities for TS meals, and then Souvenirs.

BUT-we have been going back and forth about visiting Universal. We decided that we WILL visit Universal for 1 day of our trip. That's another $500 between park tickets, transportation, and meals. (I'm overestimating here but this means we would have some money for souvenirs here as well.)

So instead of $750 it now becomes $1250. It also is another $30.00 to upgrade our seats on the plane so we are more towards the front and another $60 to check our luggage round trip. That comes to a grand total of $1340! :scared1: Needless to say we NEED free dining or at the very least a hefty room discount to kick-start our spending money budget. We would get around $550 back which means that we would need to save around $800 between mid-June and the end of September. Again, I doubt that's doable. However, I will be working more hours in the summer so that should help. I need to take a look at this budget again because I feel as though I am wayyyy overestimating. Greg's birthday is in mid-August and he usually gets some cash and we can always ask his parents for cash instead of a larger gift.

We also have cash rewards on both of our credit cards that we can redeem, right now that's around $200. I'm thinking we may end up doing this for our Vegas trip. I need to have DH go to the bank to ask about redeeming these.

In the end, I know that everything will work itself out but it is just a lift off of my shoulders to see the numbers in front of me instead of worrying! So, I thank you for reading this if you did. If not, thank you for at least understanding that sometimes, we just need to "talk" through things! :)

So if you see me add a little note to say how much we have saved thus far, you'll know why I am excited! :)

We live on a budget but that doesn't mean we don't travel-that's important to us!
