We've never done the Playhouse Disney show - my guys have never been interested, but it looks really cute!

us too.... my favorite part of the movie is the scene w/ all the doors....they should make a ride like that!

The monsters looked pretty cool - we didn't see them during our trip. I'm also very sad to say that we didn't see PHDL!
it was fun, our first time seeing them! sorry you misses PHDL...maybe on the next trip, you may have to split up like I'm thinking we'll have to.

Aldine doesn't like the really fast rides? No ToT or RnRC for her?

no she doesn't, not her thing yet....maybe next yr besides I dunno, I'm always surprised by the amount of little kids "forced" on ToT...to me it's not scary, but to a 5yr or maybe even my 10 yr old...

oh well....I know some can handle it, but not all! sorry for my soap box moment

A visit with Mike & Sully is on my To Do List, too!! Love that movie... too bad they never did a sequel... I actually thought it was better than Toy Story....

Can't wait to see the pictures! and yes a sequeal would have been fun...but you better not let Michael hear you say that about his beloved TS....did you know at our last house, his bedroom was Andy's at their new house, blue walls w/ all the yellow stars?


How nice that you got some father-daughter time with dear old dad!! It must've been a fun time and a welcome little break from being with the entire "herd."

At 8 Jonah is the only one who would have any interest in PHDL, but even he is beginning to outgrow those shows...so it's a no-go for us.

We hadn't done the Animation tour since 1992 and it was REALLY different...I agree. We must have had a good CM because I thought it was cute. Although I did enjoy seeing more of the behind the scenes stuff that you just don't see anymore.

Yay for time with Dad! Don't you just LOVE TOT!! My two younger boys opted out in 2007, but we all rode it this year. We actually did it twice!

LOL! I laughed at the "one design limit" comment about the pressed pennies. We have the same rule!!

Looking forward to more! Keep up the great updating!

Ok Monsters....if you are over near MV3D...and are going out on the NY backdrop street....there is a building at the end of the road there, that Mike and Sully are in...also you could gain access I think in the back side naer the Studio Catering Co. QS place near the shrunk kids playset...hope that helps, not looking at a map right now. I don't think it's labeled on an actual map, but in the times listing you pick up at the park, it lists the street location under character sitings.

Now as far as Bolt....I'm not sure what to tell you...the 2 characters were in the Animation Hub, but I think it is now replaced w/ the current Disney/Pixar movie Up....guess you'll have to ask.

I know they have a Monsters, Inc. ride over in Disneyland. They should bring it over to WDW!!!!! It'd go great at DHS..back over by where you meet Sully and Mikey Wisowski!

Day 4) Ok this is what you have been waiting for….


Now originally I was going to post this last Friday as a 2fer special but then last minute decided to pick up the kids from school (last day for the twins only in for 2 hours) and go to Brookfield Zoo for the afternoon…as I realized after that day, the kids camps schedules would not allow us to make it back to the zoo during the week till August or at the very least after swim lessons later this summer.

It was a nice surprise…(well I guess I should say I knew this was coming…Michael blew up at me for a minor split second over not being told this in advance…he hates that…but the Zoo is on his Summer Wish for at least 5 trips….so he was happy after he adjusted to the concept) It was a wonderful summer day, and the kids and I had a great time and look forward to going again!

Our weekend was equally busy, w/ the older kids seeing Up! w/ my Mom and then celebrating DH’s b-day at our house and then after church yesterday another b-day party for my BFF’s son turning 2…it was Mickey party…and to my surprise other then the b-day boy, my crew of 6 proudly wore our matching Mickey and Minnie shirts…well we looked cute!



Ok back to the TR….

Day 4) CHARACTER EXPLOSION!!!!!!!​

DDad and I were w/ joy on ToT while the rest went to meet some friends Bolt and Rhino, Mae is still the only one in our family who has seen this movie (a b-day party for a friend last fall) but her and the twins stood in a very long and slow moving line as reported by DH…The characters really took their time w/ each guest which has it’s pluses and minuses….

Here are some pictures of them all together…

Ok as you see in this one Michael is gone…it is because he started getting mad and freaking out that Bolt and Rhino kept hugging and touching him….I didn’t even think to tell Matt that he could tell the handler that DS is autistic and doesn’t like that too much….

But he did come back and DH got this good one....I was disappointed later there was no PP guy there...becuase the PP had some fun Bolt desings we could have added to the pictures if they took them...oh well.

After seeing them, they went over to see Mickey (Sorcerer) and were still in line to my nice surprise when Dad and I returned, but Michael wasn’t w/ them…he was still settling down from his Bolt experience, he reluctantly came w/ me as we cut in line to get up to Matt and the girls…He was annoyed, “I’ve already met him [Mickey] and have his autograph”…but I pleaded w/ him now that I’m back, we should get our trip’s family group shot w/ Mickey…he seemed to attach to that thinking and was happier since he only waited for one guest in front of us.

Now my Dad was watching from over the wall there but my Mom….I don’t know missed this whole great experience so I’m (and she) that we have such cute pictures and video from our meet & greet w/ our pal Mickey!

It was now our turn and we wanted to try and have Margaret go up to Mickey first….but she pulled the shy act out and tossed her blanket at him


Then Mickey the ever clever Mouse put her blankie on his nose…

She just stood there giggling….

even after she got her blankie back...I don't remember if she did or one of us gave it back to her?

I then picked her up to try and get some pictures….

We got one autograph on a postcard for a friend of mine from home who has never been to WDW…she was quite floored by my small piece of Magic!

And then we all lined up w/ Mickey for out family group shot!

then as we were saying our good-by’s and thank-you’s….Mickey decided he just wasn’t done playing w/ his little friend Margaret and they had a little nose snuggle fest…

It was one of the best moments and magical memories of our stay! But that wasn’t all….

As we met back up w/ my Mom, she said "I think I just saw Kim Possible walk by"





nd then before we knew it about a dozen different characters were all over the hub walking around, signing autographs and taking pictures….it was a crazy wonderful piece of unexpected Disney Magic just for us! (ok there were other guests too)



So we saw….

KP!

“someone call my name” KP said….Aldine was so super excited to meet one of her Disney heroines! Here they are chatting it up, like ‘ol friends:

then we met the Evil Queen…and hoo-wee she fits the bill….she almost scared Mae and made Michael a bit mad with her nasty smirk and comments as the kids were flustered by their autograph books and trying to slip off the bands for the next page…I was trying to take it in stride as it is her character’s spoof…but it was bit intense if you couldn’t appreciate it for who she playing…

Next was Pinocchio….a charming little “real live boy”

Then we had some fun w/ Goofy and Max…even got my Dad in on the act:

Up next we went to meet Mr. & Mrs. Incredible (another 2 characters we’ve never met before)….

Also in the room (that we didn’t have time to see) was the evil guy from Pocahontas,

2 characters from Robin Hood and Mary Poppins w/ her penguins…we really wanted to do them after Goofy and Max, but they had disappeared.

Whew…..

After our whirl-wind of characters which was just amazing, we sat down to regroup our strategy for the rest of the night…I’m not sure exactly what time it was…but late afternoon for sure…it was too late to take a break and make it back for F! w/out too much hurry, we were getting hungry, a little tired, Michael looked like he may have had enough for the day…and Aldine really, I mean really…..wanted to do the Drawing Academy there in the hub….

So what would we do?

Up Next….the end of Day 4) did we see F! and is that Tigger?

Poor Michael! I totally understand the whole sensory-thing, though. We always try to remember to warn characters about Billy... but that's because he's the exact opposite of Michael! He'll hug and pet and sniff the characters A LOT, so we like to, um, "warn them" about what they're in for!!

Oh, Margaret and Mickey... that was just too precious for words!!

it does take time away, but when the kids are liitle it is so much fun...even fun for us! I highly recommend waiting for some character meet & greets!
