We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

I love all the flower and garden pics!

So funny that you got the duffel bag. I am a sucker for those things!

I love the pictures of F & G-it looks like it was really lovely and it made a great backdrop for the pictures of the girls...:thumbsup2

(I also like that photo of Michael in front of that Stitch topiary-he has a great look on his face...)

I'm wondering if you guys ever made it to Mission Space:confused3...Emily has refused to let any of us go near it-she calls it the "ride where people die"...which while protective seems a little excessive-but she heard those stories and is so freaked out by it...:confused3

I loved the quiz-it was so much fun-I have to go back through and read everyone's answers...:goodvibes

we weren't the only family on the move today...

100_2701.jpg

That was sweet! Mama and her babies!!

It took us a minute to figure out where it was since you couldn’t see the garden from in front of TT, but it was close by.

100_2716.jpg

Aren’t these little houses too cute, wouldn’t you like to shrink and live in one of them!

They're adorable! These were new because I don't recognize them from F&G the year before. I think it's great that they change the themes and exhibits around to keep the festival fresh!

So glad your mom was sensible and decided to rent the ECV (unlike somebody else we know!) :rolleyes1

Nice update!

So funny that you got the duffel bag. I am a sucker for those things!

It's a nice little size and it's actually got some great use this summer...:thumbsup2 Aldine has been using it as her new travel bag and it's in use now as she's spending a few days w/ my parents (they're local, but it's fun for her to get away)

that won't be the only incentive buy from today....staye tuned :surfweb:

I love the pictures of F & G-it looks like it was really lovely and it made a great backdrop for the pictures of the girls...:thumbsup2

yes the fairy garden was so cute....too bad they don't have thos little playgrounds all the time!

(I also like that photo of Michael in front of that Stitch topiary-he has a great look on his face...)

it's one of my fav pictures of him too from this trip!

I'm wondering if you guys ever made it to Mission Space:confused3...Emily has refused to let any of us go near it-she calls it the "ride where people die"...which while protective seems a little excessive-but she heard those stories and is so freaked out by it...:confused3

I have never been on it....I'm a huge coaster freak, but the motion rides not so much...I like to see myself moving and fliping, etc....My parents and my FIL went on it back in 05 when it just had the one version...so yes INTENSE I would have been  my Mom joked not a good sign when the ride comes equipped w/  bags.... they enjoyed it, but my Mom said if she ever went on again it would be the green side...that's the milder version i think...

now DH went on it, can't remember which side in 08, but got stuck in there for about 20 minutes or so w/ a group of Scandanavian non english speaking people....not FUN! that's a whole other story in my 08 TR...but he eventually got out and did ride. I'd have to ask him again what he thought.

this trip we never did make it it over there. I'm sure DH will want to go for it next yr and maybe take a kid or two but on the mild side. If anyone did go on this yr it would have been him and my Mom most likely anyways...so sorry that ins't much help. I'd post a kid riding Q on the attraction thread and see what you can find out there.

I loved the quiz-it was so much fun-I have to go back through and read everyone's answers...:goodvibes

Yes I need to go back and post some comments about my fav answers!

I think in the circle of TR's I've been reading I was the first to post pic's of this probably cause most have boys....(Missy, Amy, Carissa) for us not seeing a F & G since 05 everything was NEW....so very fun. This was one of my fav exhibits too!

So glad your mom was sensible and decided to rent the ECV (unlike somebody else we know!) :rolleyes1

oh I didn't even think of that....;) yes we couldn't have accomplished as much as we did on this day w/out the ECV...that's they right initals...dud I didn't think ECV looked right.

Nice update!

Thanks!

Ok is it just me or is anyone else out there having issues w/ the multi-qoute button not working for them....:confused3 :headache:

What cute fairy garden pictures! And I love Michael's shirt. Just had to say it. He's got such a great smile today. I'm glad you're getting good pictures.

I haven't seen Universe of Energy in forever either...and I'm not sure my kids would sit through it yet.

Can't wait to see what other surprises (and purchases) happened today.

I know I'm very late, but I had all my answers typed up for this and then my browser flaked out and I lost it! UGH! Anyway...I wanna play, so here goes!

1) Your Disboard name and why you chose it?

mommytothreeboys...it's what I am!

2) Trips to any Disney Park: year, park and resort off or on
1983ish--offsite with my grandparents--only MK and Epcot..that's all there was!
1992--honeymoon--offsite (hurricane Andrew as well)--MK, Epcot, MGM
2007--first family trip--onsite (POR)---all four parks

2009--family trip--onsite (POR)--all four parks, both waterparks

3) Your first Disney Memory

Tricking my grandpa into riding Space Mountain. He didn't realize it was a roller coaster and when we got off he ranted about how he'd never let me trick him like that again! Great memory!

4) Your favorite Big Attraction

Tower of Terror...I'm a thrill ride junkie and this one does not disappoint!

5) Your favorite “secret”

Riding in the front of the monorail...this may be a thing of the past so I'm glad my boys were able to do it.

6) Why did you start Dising? Do you remember what your first post was?

I started DISing when we decided to take the plunge and plan our first family trip. I am a planning fanatic and was searching for all the information I could find. I think my first post was on the Resort board asking about which room to request at POR.

7) Have you ever worked for the Disney Company, when and where?

NOPE!

8) Have you ever won a Disney trip or experienced a “dream” during the Year of a Million Dreams?

again..NOPE!
:sad2:

9) What is your Disney planning style?

I am a planner by nature so planning a Disney trip puts me in my happy place!
I guess you could say I am an OCD planner, but for me, it's part of the fun of the vacation.

10) If you were in a Disney movie who would you be?

Mary Poppins or Snow White. I am always either taking care of the kids or cleaning!

11) Name something you do every trip

Take a picture of the boys trying to pull the sword from the stone.

12) Name something you have never done

We've never found the Singing in the Rain umbrella at DHS.

13) Name something you wish would happen to you or a family member at Disney

Being chosen to open the park or be in a parade would be fabulous!

14) If you could decide what the next park at WDW would be, what would you call it?

Oh man...I'm going to leave that one to the professionals!

15) Would you ever consider moving to Orlando to work at WDW and what job would you want?

That would be fun to do when we retire! I'd love to work in the bakery.

16) What is your favorite Disney song?

Be Our Guest

17) If you designed the perfect Disney vacation, what would it include?

At least 2 weeks, Animal Kingdom Lodge, a behind the scenes tour, and my mom. I'd love to be able to bring her along to share the magic of Disney. She would LOVE to share that with the boys.

18) When do you normally Dis?
Mostly during the day...I reward myself with DIS time when I'm doing the housework, etc!

19) When you are not Dising, what do you do?
Laundry, dishes, running the boys to practices, laundry, work at church planning children's activities, scrapbook, laundry.

20) If you had only 1 hour to spend at WDW what would you do?

Buy some popcorn or a Mickey Bar and sit on Main Street to watch Wishes.

21) What is your favorite Disney souvenir?

My Tink mugs...I use one every day!

21) Does every room in your house have at least 1 Disney item in it, or name which rooms and stuff.

Kitchen--magnets on fridge, mugs
Living Room--framed pics of our vacations, Mickey afghan
Den--Mickey ears wallpaper on computer, Tink poster on closet door, Disney Scene-It games
Bedroom--pin lanyard, leis from 'Ohana, Tink PJ's
Boys' rooms--souvenir stuffed animals, pin lanyards
Bathroom--Mickey soap
Dining room--nothing at the moment, but when we are planning a trip this is where the countdown calendar is!

22) Have you ever been Backstage at any Walt Disney Park?

No, but that's on my list of want-to-do's!

23) If you had to sum why you LOVE Disney so much, what 3-5 words would you use?

It makes me feel like a KID again! (but that doesn't even scratch the surface of why I love Disney!

I love the pictures of the girls in front of SSE and the Princess topiaries. VERY cute! princess:

I did tour the Fairy Garden while my boys were in the Butterfly Tent. :) It was so cute! I didn't get pics of the little houses..those are adorable!

MOUSEGEARS!! LOVE that store! And I always do the special purchase as well...I got a cool canvas tote bag this year. You NEVER have enough bags! LOL! :rotfl:

We did Ellen's Energy Adventure this year for the first time and really enjoyed it. I agree that it's not an "every trip" attraction though...it really does take a lot of time.

Can't wait to hear about your WS adventures! :goodvibes

:headache: why is my mulit-quote button not working.....

oh well the upside I'll get more posts ranked under my name

Day 7) Cont: Around the World in One-Day!

100_2732.jpg

Hmmm what's over there?

We entered Mexico and did the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride

100_2733.jpg

100_2734.jpg

Michael was antsy again in this line and a little short w/ me trying to explain what this ride was, but once he was on he was fine.

It was cute and a bit campy, but we all enjoyed it as never been on this version before. Michael especially enjoyed it, because he really likes Donald Duck. The kids thought the little cartoon reels throughout were the best.

We took a quick pit stop by one of the shopping display carts to get a little festive in the Mexican Spirit:

100_2735.jpg

100_2737.jpg

We then left Mexico and headed way North to Norway and got our inner Viking on! Matt wanted to ride Maelstrom now one of his favorite rides, I was fine to pass, but he and I disagreed on whether Michael should ride or not, he has never been on, I know I expressed MOH about this before, but the matter was pressed and Michael was becoming agitated in our :hyper2: in the end, Michael stayed w/ me and the little girls, while everyone else went to go on the ride.

We got a snack from the Kringla Bakery

I parked the stroller before walking in and carried Margaret, Michael was such a big helper w/ getting a tray and carrying our treats. We each got a yummy snack credit option. Michael wanted one of the fancy pretzels but it didn’t look like they were a SC so he opted for a cherry Danish instead, I got a puffed horn cream pastry and Mae had some chocolate pudding cup w/ fruit and finally not that it really was a proper dairy free option but I got Margaret a fruit/cream tartlet and she ate the fruit off the top. (it really was the only exception)

We found a table in the nearby seating area and I pushed the stroller over to that side.

100_2738.jpg

100_2740.jpg

We then went to go look for the trolls. I first thought it was some type of Gnome Garden but after asking a CM, it really was little statues all over the Norway Pavilion. There is supposedly 20 around we found several (maybe about 10)

100_2742.jpg

100_2743.jpg

I see it!

I now figured enough time had passed and I started looking for Matt and the others, but I really didn’t see them anywhere. I guess we were attempting to call each other on our cells at the same time w/ no luck getting thru. But we found each other finally and then Matt wanted to get a snack and a drink from the bakery too. He ended up getting that huge pretzel Michael wanted and Michael was slightly mad, I thought oh great :headache: I guess it turned out to be a SC after all, sorry bud.

Before leaving Norway and heading to the orient, Matt and Aldine stopped to get some pictures of Josefina:

100_2744.jpg

100_2745.jpg

We started on ahead and then got separated too far from each and the cell phone issue we have been having all week would cause my ugly head to appear

After Josefina had her photo shoot in Norway, next was China and I don’t know why but I started becoming a bit annoyed w/ waiting and the splitting up…I didn’t think at the time we needed a picture of Josefina w/ everything.

I think it just annoyed me the most at that time, because as we entered China, there was Mulan outside posing for pictures and signing autograph books. I got in line w/ Mae and Margaret, figuring Aldine would be here shortly, but it was a short line and our turn was next!

Where was she?

I tired calling Matt on his cell, but that didn’t work when I finally saw them and I had to jump quickly out of line leaving the girls to holler for him to get Aldine over here. She quickly came over and it was our turn.

Now this was fun, I really like Mulan I like her kind of Princess! And really enjoyed seeing the movie when it came out back in what, 1998?

I took Margaret out of her stroller to try and get her to go up to Mulan, but all she did was walk up just a little bit and tossed her hat at her. I guess she has a thing for tossing stuff at the characters  remember her blankie at Mickey?

The girls got their books signed and took their pictures too.

Image165.jpg

100_2750.jpg

Image169.jpg

But Margaret was reluctant to join in. In the end Mulan was so sweet to walk over by her in the stroller and said :wave2: to her there.

Image172.jpg

I just love these Disney characters. I had wanted my picture w/ her but I must have been distracted by something and forgot to ask, so I hope we can meet her again next yr. Mae told me she thought she had funny feet and I had to explain to her that those were her shoes :rotfl:

cont: next post....

Next my parents, Matt and the older two girls went to go see the Reflections of China movie. Michael didn’t want to go stand and the 360 theatre is sometimes a bit too intense for him, so he went w/ me and Margaret and we looked thru the huge China gift shop. My Favorite store here in the World Showcase!

Michael checked out the puppets outside first, a usual kid magnet huh? And then in the sorta open air area I looked at the wallets. I have purchased several over the yrs and really like these satin pouches, etc. My current main wallet for home, zipper broke just a few weeks before the trip, so I’d thought I’d just replace it. I had bought it in a set of 3 zippered rectangles and I really didn’t need a full new set, (which was $10) so I found a beaded single wallet that was $6. It seemed comparable in size to the old one, and I figured it would work, plus I liked it.

100_2977.jpg

But once home I realized it wouldn’t work the inner pouch was actually smaller and I couldn’t get all my cards, coupons, $ etc in it. I was bummed. A friend of mine went to Disney the end of May and I asked her if she wouldn’t mind exchanging it for something new for me. Which she did. She bought me a different 3-set for that $10 price (guess that was what I should have bought in the 1st place oh well) and I like my new everyday wallet plus I have 2 smaller pouches for other stuff

100_3908.jpg

Oh BTW...here's some more of my "collection"....

100_3909.jpg

do you think I need an intervention....hehehe

We walked through the whole store and checked out all the cool things and finery. Though I had to keep an eye on Margaret’s reaching hands that she didn’t pull something down and break it. While we were in there I thought it would be nice to bring home a little souvenir for Matt’s parents. They have an extensive collection of various oriental inspired pieces and such in their home. Michael picked out a decorative small China Bell. Which they appreciated very much when we got home (sorry no pic)

At that point Margaret was thirsty so as Michael looked at in the cases particularly at some chess set I refilled her cup and re-organized (there I go again ;)) the bottom of the stroller, when Matt found us. He took Michael back in the temple real quick to see a few things. Here are several pictures that he took:

100_2760.jpg

100_2762.jpg

100_2763.jpg

100_2764.jpg

100_2765.jpg

The rest of us headed toward Germany next, they caught up with us and he also snapped this picture:

100_2767.jpg

And we kept on moving along toward the US Pavilion. At this point we were hungry and decided to stop and eat here at the Liberty Café. I know what you are thinking of all the cool places to eat in the WS, why did we get American…well it just seemed to work. I think it was just before 12 noon and many of the CS places were filling up. The indoor seating area was just packed and VERY LOUD! So we opted to eat outside and found a few tables under a couple umbrellas. It actually wasn’t that hot, once we were resting, so the quiet was much nicer than noise in AC…kwim.

After everyone looked over the menus posted outside, I took Aldine w/ me inside to order. My parents headed in before me to get their food plus Michael’s. It took a bit longer than I recall when ordering at other CS’s during the week, and you could get that sense of “Spring Break” now as the parks were filling up. But luckily since Epcot is so BIG, it never seemed too bad.

Aldine had the chilled chicken on salad greens again, the other kids had chicken nugget meals and if I remember correctly I did not get a meal for Margaret this time and she ended up sharing w/ them. I had the pulled pork sandwich w/ fries which I gave to Matt and took his celery sticks from his hot chicken bites. For dessert I had a YUM, YUM, YUM Mickey Mouse rice krispie treat…oohhh my favorite sweet treat here at the parks. Plus I had ordered one extra as a snack credit, and by some sublime luck I ended up bringing it home w/ me and several weeks later it was still in the fridge….and you know I ate it

After our meal we did the usual restroom break circle and Matt took Margaret to change her diaper and he washed her feet in the sink…nice huh?

As I was waiting I looked over the F& G guide that I had printed to see what else we hadn’t seen yet. I realized we missed the Lady and the Tamp Potted garden back in Italy, so I asked if we could walk/zoom back over there real quick to sit it and get pictures.

But would that be the only thing we saw in Italy?

Up NEXT: Soccer anyone?

Thanks for reading,

Scrappie (J-)

LOVE all the new pictures. I'd say EPCOT is my favorite park (it probably really is), but I love them all so much it's hard to really choose.

I really like the pictures from the temple in China. I don't know that I've ever looked in there. And the new wallet is very pretty. I love to look through the China store.

I'm really liking your F&G pictures. I know I've been during that time of year but it's been a LONG time (I can't even remember when the last time was).

We've done the "just eat in America because we're here" thing too.

Does Michael play chess?

Oh, and you can just call me by my name (Heather) if you want. ;)

Love the new wallet and the bags that accompany it!

I think we've all done the "let's just eat in America" thing!

It's so funny that Margaret threw her hat at Mulan. Maybe she's starting a new trend! :rotfl:

I don't blame you for getting a bit annoyed with the spliting up. I would too. Mainly because I hard to waste time. As my kids get older I think the rule will be to either stick right together or split up for a pre-determined time and meet up spot. (oh I can't wait to go solo and have none of that!)

s vcc cgft <-------- that was Liam saying hello

thanks for putting a name w/ the Diz face....;)

we've visited now twice during the F & G F time and it is really nice, I love all of that extra magical touches...makes me wish I had some Disney gardeners living in my backyard....

Michael doesn't actually play chess...he has on occasion w/ his Dad, but he really is intrigued by the game and how it works. He loves figures and games w/ pieces..it's part of his way to play w/ having Aspergers...very analytical. I have pictures of him at age 6 playing w/ my Aunt's Harry Potter chess set, he sat there for well over an hour moving the pieces and if he's bored I often suggest he play "Disney Chess" he'll get out several Disney figures...his collection is HUGE and an empty chess/checker board and go to it.
