Westminster Dog Show 2003

Is anyone going to be attending the show next February? I sent away for tickets yesterday; this will be my first time attending the show.

of "things to do before I die". It would be so neat! Have a great time and take lots of pix for the rest of us. Did you see "Best In Show"? Maybe you have to be a "crazy dog lady" (as DH calls me), but I was ROFL!

It's been on my list, too, yoopermom, and I am very excited. I've only seen the Wesminster Show on TV, so this will be great. The show is 2/10 and 11, 2003 and the tickets I purchased will include Tuesday's Best in Show. Last year's was, shall we say "distinctive"! LOL!! I loved the Cumberland who won a couple of years ago!!

Believe me, as an exhibitor, it is the PITS!!!! I went once about 11 years ago with a specials dog. NEVER AGAIN!!! I can't think of a worse place to attend a dog show. The grooming area is AWFUL, and you have to keep your dog on the bench all day. NO FUN at all!

Diane is right....it's a benched show and pretty miserable for the dogs and owners.


I went many times as a child and always catch it on TV now. go Bernese mountain dogs!!!

Our Bearded Collie is currently 6 or 7 in the AKC rankings and probably will not make it back into to the top five in time for Westmister. Our dog was a high as number three earlier in the year after a couple of decent showings. We may wait until next year to take him to Westminster. I have promised my wife if the dog makes into to the top five, we will all go and watch. His grand dad won the hearding gourp back in 95 and 96
