their rooms/villa are fine. It is the sales people who give this place such a bad reputation.

so make your appointment for their sale pitch the last couple of hours of your visit. Say 'NO' - you will have to say it at least 5 times - these sales people don't listen the first 4 times. then another few times to all the supervisor staff they call over.....

never buy from Westgate - you can find it on the resale market for at least 70% cheaper!!!!

if you want some examples to take with you - just ask!

OK, sounds like a good deal, now which Westgate do you reccomend?? I would be traveling with my 5 kids, and spending probably about half of my time hanging out at the resort, the other half at the theme parks.

TIA!!

I stayed at the Westgate Lakes and liked it. Never tried the other properties, any suggestions, anybody?

thanks for the info I wanted a good room with low cost I told my dh yesterday. We are good at saying no to sells people. I bought back time shares from people for a company and there is no way I would own one just a personal opinion. great price can't beat it. thanks again we can now do swim with dophins while we are there. ya

If you are a family of more than 3 and you prefer a resort with ammenities stick to the Villas or Lakes location. THe palace was really small and cramped for us. We fit nicely in the Westgates Lakes but the Palace was cramped. Also like spicey cat advice please make your sales presentation last day of your vacation and please let them know you mean business after 90 minutes you are gone. I personally will never stay their again because I had to file a claim for my stolen belongings after our last trip in November and yet to have receive any reimbursements, correspondence or anything from their corporate office.

we did the vacation villa a few years ago. Almost directly across from disney sport complex. The room was very nice ,big full kitchen 2 bedrooms and 2 baths plenty of pools and a quick drive to all parks. The sales pitch is a killer, but if you can say no a lot you will be fine and worth the money saved.

good luck

Has anyone booked this special yet, or spoke to someone about it. I tried to call last night, but they were closed. I will try again today, but they are probably closed on a Sunday. I would only want to stay at lakes or villas.

If 4 adults and 2 children are going do all 4 adults have to attend the sales pitch. I know I read if the person attending is married they both have to attend.

When we did Westgate vacation Villas in 2001 my parents came along for the vacation. since they were not named on the reservations they were not required to attend the sales pitch. They did require both me and my DH to attend (and my DH will buy anything :headache: ). They tried to get my kids to go to a play area (very pushy) At the time they were 4&5 and did not leave my side. I had to tell the saleman to back off with the kids. So to answer your question if you don't tell them the names of your guest they will not require them to attend, unless they have changed the rules. Good luck and it really was a good value. :thumbsup2

I did call but decided not to deal with Westgate again. If anyone is interested, the Hilton Grand Vacation is running a deal, $69 for 4 days 3 nights in a studio. Friday they were offering a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom. I had already booked my vacation with the Marriott so I had to pass but what a great deal that was!

Does anyone know anything about Westgate Leisure Resort? I think it used to be a Ramada Inn? RCI is offering a one-bedroom for a good price in May. Any info. is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

That would be great for my sister in law could you send me a PM!! BTW I am in ATL Too

Would you also be able to send me the PM, I would like to stay there for week, maybe I can work a deal for the remaining days. I need a 2 bedroom, but maybe they can increase the price with special for a 2 bedroom. Thank you.

I would love a pm also please. We are going for a quick weekend in May for Star Wars and this would work great! thanks

I called about the $29 rate. This deal was only good for March, the first week of April and three weeks in May.
