Jan, was the Shoreside survival kit something you received at home through the mail. I've gotten one from a previous cruise (but not all my cruises)...............

Yes, the 6 x 8 pictures by Ducky arrived about a week or so after we got home. Someone on this thread asked if we had each received our welcome home gift and the next day or so we got this. It had a letter thanking us for cruising.

Yes, the Ducky pictures were in a SHORESIDE SURVIVAL KIT Package with a generic letter thanking us for cruising. But no CD. I think there are different gift packs and in some indiscernable manner they send them out "just because". Maybe Stitch is in charge.....

All that talk about the Wii Fit and Shannon decided she wanted a Wii. so this weekend we went looking for one here in Quesnel and we came up empty.

So today I had to go to Prince George for work and got to spend my lunch hour looking for a Wii. Got one but there was no luck on the Wii Fit.

so tonight we've been playing the Wii Sports package. Watching my DD3 do the boxing was hilarious. Shannon is just happy because in the first level of Boxing it took me all 3 rounds to knock the guy out. She did it in the first few minutes of Round #1.

Time to go back and practice!

The kids and I are thinking of Father's Day plans.

Here are the ideas in the hopper (random order) :

Indy Movie
Day at the Beach (Half Moon Bay)
Hooters for wings and Gin & Tonic (for Paul) rum something for me
The kids are drawing him a picture of a big screen tv (wall mount) but since he bought the go-kart trailer it's just gonna be a picture for now
Duct tape wallet (got an email from Family Fun magazine)
Breakfast of some sort that we make for him, most likely Dutch Babies

That is the list I think we most likely will do them all, but it will depend on energy that day.

11pm here on the HOT East Coast. I am so tired. My mom is doing badly. My brother and I spent an hour on the phone trying to figure out what to do.

This morning with all her clothes on and her sneakers and sweater, she weighed 85.5 pounds. She is down now 12 pounds since I left for vacation. It was 100 degrees here today and she would not take her sweater off....

She will not come out of her room anymore. Her teeth are falling out and she will not let me take her to a dentist. I took her to the doctor and she has to see a GI doctor...which she refuses to do. I took her for x-rays today and those results should be back tomorrow. I can't help help if she does not want to help herself.

It is just so sad. I hope I learn from this.

So sorry Lisa. Has she just given up?

Ah well, we still had the most fantastic cruise with wonderful memories.

I heard from someone yesterday at work that they are having trouble finding Wii Fit. I had pre-ordered mine on Amazon, so it was waiting here when we came back from the cruise.

Ken, have you talked to any of the store manager to see when they will be receiving their next Wii Fit shipment?

It is surprising that Nintendo always fails to meet the demand for their products.

I've been faithfully working out on the Wii Fit and I noticed yesterday that I was actually feeling better.

I've also rearranged my routine a bit. I'm no longer taking the bus or El home. I'm now taking commuter rail. The station is 2 blocks away from where I work.

What this means is that instead of taking 1 hour to 1.25 hours start of ride to end of ride, it is now taking me 9 minutes to get from the station near work to the station near my house.

On the flip side, I have a 10 block walk home from the station. But I am getting home about 1 hour earlier, which is the time I'm using to exercise.

Consequently it also means I'm doing a lot more walking everyday.

Ken, also meant to tell you that Doug has been checking out geocaching since we got home. I had gotten him a handheld Garmin several years ago from work and he finally learned how to use it. We have also found our first virtual geocache. It was rather easy, though. We didn't even have to leave home to find it. It is the Longaberger Headquarters building which is just a little over 2 miles from where we live. We pass it almost every day. There are lots of others in the area and we are anxious to go looking for some. Thanks for the talk and sorry we had to leave early.

I'm hoping when we get ours that it will encourage me to do more exercise. I hate to exercise but maybe because this is a game...?

Lisa, so sorry to hear about your mom. Having had my mom live with me when she was ill I know how hard this can be for all of you. Just remember you have a support group here.

I ALMOST pre ordered the Wii Fit before the cruise, but I forgot.....so now I have to wait until they get more in the stores. I am sure they'll have them in a couple months......

As for the DCL gifts....we didn't get anything AFTER we got home, our dish with the lid was left in our room on the last day. I don't think they are mailing anything to us now.

We have booked the Eastern Carribean cruise that includes Tortola in Sept 2009. Is there a thread for that yet?

Chuck and I are going up to Sterling this weekend, I sure hope they arent's till having all those tornadoes and thunderstorms....I just can't believe the floods and devastation around Wisconsin Dells!

I still think they have a pile of different SHORESIDE SURVIVAL KITS that Stitch is in charge of sending out and since his GOODNESS QUOTIENT is LOW it is very random. This could have been sent because we sailed in September 2007 not because we sailed in May 20078.
